My first lesson with Okky was in September 2024 - there were quite a few changes (not drastic) but fundamental changes needed. The first lesson tremendously helped me and at the same time trying to get used to the change. At times, it seems that you wanted to revert to the way you used to - but I pulled that temptation away and remind myself to be patient with this change and to give it a chance. In May 2025, I went for my 2nd lesson - he continued to reinforced the initial lesson that I had. Then in January 2026, I went for my 3rd lesson to improve my Driving of the ball. We began with Iron shots practice, he reinforced the same lesson I had before. He added few more concepts that I continued to implement during practice. Seems that 3rd lesson is a charm and with a little patience applying these concepts seems to get somewhat easier! With these 3 lessons it paid off! My husband took about 150 swings with so many varieties of clubs u til he found the right club and head for his playing style. The entire time William gave feedback, evaluated his swing and kept making adjustments to the shaft and head. Seemed like about 20 different variations were performed. My husband opted not to purchase a new club after the session because he will not have time to play for a few months during his coaching season so we just had to pay for an irons evaluation. All of the evaluations are stored in my husband's account and he can go back anytime to order a club with a 90 day guarantee. During our most recent visit, we were seated and waited nearly 15 minutes without a single employee acknowledging us. No one greeted us, offered water, or even let us know they'd be with us shortly. We eventually got up and left. I understand restaurants can get busy, and it appeared they may have been short-staffed because many of the tables hadn't been cleared. However, even during a rush, simply acknowledging waiting guests goes a long way. It also seemed like additional staff, even someone dedicated to bussing tables, would have helped keep the dining room under control. It's unfortunate because we genuinely enjoyed coming here, and the food and drinks have always been a highlight. Sadly, the consistently poor service--especially our last experience--has been enough for us to stop coming back. I had made it a New Year's resolution to take golf lessons and found Sonny through the PGA's Get Golf Ready program to introduce people to the game. He was great at explaining everything from stance to club grip and had a ton of useful drills that I could use to practice on my own. After the month was finished, I continued with lessons once a week for two more months at the Newport Beach Golf Club. My long game needed work (I couldn't hit too far originally), but saw improvement after our training to the point that I was ready for a game (which was my goal). We did two games as lessons where we went over all the rules, golf etiquette, club selections, etc. He always had the answers to my questions and had various ways to help with learning (filming by video, personalized drills, etc.). He even helped me figure out which golf clubs to buy in my Craigslist search. Throughout all this, he was always patient and encouraging and knew exactly what I need to fix to get the result I was looking for. Or maybe he should just list his rates online if he doesn't want to be bothered with these questions. Anyways, I was unable to take a lessons because I couldn't even get pricing from him. There are 2 other instructors at this location so I will be reaching out to them.
