I came here for a driver fitting. Upon my arrival, he gave me a warm-up iron. Then I hit a few balls with a practice driver with a recommended shaft, and based on my swings, he made the adjustments and once that was done, I went over to the pro shop picked out my shaft and my grip and I gave it to them to install and I got it back a few days. I was looking for a certain brand set of woods. I was ready to make purchase. I asked a gentleman folding shirts about a certain brand. 1 Star I drove from Napa specifically to get fitted, try the simulator, and purchase new clubs. Upon checking in, I was told to head to the back and that someone would be with me shortly. I waited 15 minutes, watching the employee in the irons section help other customers who arrived after me. I went to the front counter and politely asked the employee who checked me in if he could give me an ETA--5 minutes, 10 minutes, 30 minutes? His response: a shrug and "I don't know." That was it. After that, I decided not to spend my money here. A simple update or recommendation to keep me moving toward my purchase would have gone a long way. Instead, I left frustrated and disappointed. We stopped by the store to buy golf clothes a few days ago and met Corey Davis by chance. He approached us and explained of it. Appreciate Corey, you let us know it and It was awesome to join. There were lots of women golfers and chances to play together with women. I never had that many galleries while I was playing a golf. Excited and nervous but proud of me compared to others. But Levi at Golf Galaxy was the most friendly and great coordinator who helped me to get the right driver and his communication was so kind and nice even though I have a language barrier. In my budget, he gave me a variety of choices and he tried to help me as much as he could while I was trying all the different drivers. An employee came out and asked the other couple if they needed help, then he walked away right past us without even acknowledging us. I guess the other couple were dressed better than we were. I Was In this store for one hour and 14 minutes and wasn't even spoken to until I was walking out the store. Didn't seem like any one else had that problem I wonder why!!!! I was putting balls for a hour employee entered the area with a customer and when that exchange was over he just walked off!?! I don't golf or know a whole lot about it, but I was asked by a friend to pick something up. My friend was celebrating an anniversary with their spouse, and since their plans weren't around here, they weren't able to get what they needed themselves. My friend's spouse is big on golf, so I guess for the anniversary, my friend wanted to buy them something. Jacob and Kiana were super helpful and outgoing. They were patient even though as I said, I don't do anything golf related. Jacob and Kiana not only helped me find what I needed to get, but also gave me a gift receipt that way my friends could exchange the item themselves in case anything goes wrong with it, they don't need to call me. The crew at Golf Galaxy helped me out greatly and were extremely professional and welcoming. This place had a great location, good parking and was nice to see lots of choices and services. I came in to replace an entire set of golf clubs from the ones I've had since college. Went for Taylor made M6 clubs and was told that they only had the SIMS for irons. No sweat let's do it. I was fitted by 2 individuals at 2 separate times, both gave me info that (1) said my golf swing was too slow for my shaft and should get a softer one. Ok? Sounds good.(2) guy said my swing is fine and the other guy was wrong. Ok?? Next week I came to pick up and was met by my original salesman and I told him what the guy fiting me said, he immediately said, "that guy doesn't know what he is doing, some people like to pretend they know" I was....hmm. ok?? So, he says I needed stiffer flex and went on to fit me and I went home w my clubs. I went to the range and seems fine, my normal slice was there and thought, hey! New clubs same me. Well, I went to Keplers in Walnut Creek to get my clubs regripped and maybe get a fairway wood. The guys there literally spent 1.5 hours fitting multiple shafts, heads. Brands, tips on my swing, etc... I left there feeling good and finding out about the Ping 710 irons and g410 drivers. Super forgiving and I felt confident w those. According to the computer. I NOW had the bestvshaft and heads combo and true enough, I was fitting it 15 yrds farther and close to the center! I asked the guy if this computer was off? Nope. I was just more confident w the fitting and now w my swing. I tried to return my taylor made at Golf Galaxy and they only allowed me to trade to the Pings. I wanted to bring my business to the better store, however, I was only able to trade to the Pings. It was nice of Golf Galaxy to do that, but, you know what? It would've been nicer if they took the time to help me the first time around properly. Also, shout out to Kepler. They gave me all the neccessary shaft stiffness, type of clubs, etc... and wrote it down for me, so all I had to do was hand it to the golf Galaxy guys. Lesson. Galaxy Golf guys are nice. But go to Keplers in WC for a true fitting. read more

Went in to get my Scotty's lie a degree or two more flat and they proceed to bend it about 4 degrees upright with the flange bent in a odd way. I go back to have it returned to it's original state and they tried but it's still slightly off. I went in this morning to see if a new set of clubs would help my game. I brought in my current 7 iron and Joe looked at my numbers on tracman in one of their booths. We compared my current club to various shaft and head combinations to see if I could get more distance and club head speed with a newer set. Joe was very honest and said my current clubs were equivalent to what I could get with a newer set. He said it wasn't ethical to try and sell me something that wouldn't really make a difference in my game. I purchased some very expensive clubs prior to the name change to Golf Galaxy. They were top line Calaway's. Also got 3-5 woods. The last time in Dave got me set up with a new driver to replace my ping. I just came back today saying I played all week and just couldn't hit it straight. So he took care of me and changed my shaft. I showed him the 7 iron of the expensive set thinking maybe going to a graphite shaft would make a difference with the irons as well. He said "dude unless you are a zero handicap, these clubs are all wrong for you. These are blades and they are used by the pros. I know I didn't sell you these! But I'll be sure to get you the most I can toward a new better set Tailored specifically on your swing.". So I swung another set of Callaway's he set up for me to try. The difference was huge! Compared to the ones I had been using it was like trying to swing a sledge hammer to kill a fly. The new set was light, balanced, got good consistent distance and loft.... perfecto! I shoot in the high 80's mid 90's regularly. This should knock 7-10 strokes off my round consistently. Now I really do have on order a greasy can of whoop ass! Thanks Dave! read more

This is my second visit here but some reason or another I keep getting very Rude Customer Service! I was spending $400 on clothes and found a 2016 Ping bag that had no tag with a price. Guy behind the counter said if I find the same bag out that would be the price. I walked away to grab some balls and find the similar bag but the Ms. Manager now behind the counter, would not honor the price and wanted to charge me $10 more than the 2017 model that was out on the floor. Really don't understand why it is such bad customer service!! I would just buy directly at Dicks if they had more selection but this Pleasant Hill store sucks! read more

Do not listen to the negative reviews. Went in on a Sunday to purchase my husband new clubs as his retirement gift. Brought our son who was visiting from Oregon as he was in need of some clubs as well. We were greeted as soon as we walked in the door. We were asked what we were looking for and had someone helping us within minutes. My husband picked out a few options and then Charlie took us over to the simulator. He was extremely helpful, and very nice. Its been awhile since we bought new clubs so he was showing us everything we were interested in and more. We weren't rushed at all. As we were at the simulator our son was walking the rest of the store. We were there for a couple of hours and everyone was so very friendly and helpful...especially Charlie. Bought my son a new set of irons after I got a great online deal / coupon. He liked them, but after a little online research wanted to see all his options. I totally understand as golf is a mental game. Walked into the store and explained the situation to Brandon, an associate at the store. He watched my son take a few swings and, after talking about what our budget was, took us to the trade-in section. He could have easily walked us to the latest club selection, but that would have been a big up-sell. We pulled three really good options from a lineup of really nice used clubs and Brandon tracked everything on the computer. One set, the Titleist AP2's were perfect for his swing and right on budget. The only problem was the set lacked a PW. Brandon found us a new PW, but alone it was going to be $120. His advice was to check on trade-ins at their SJ or Roseville locations and to try to get the wedge that matched the set. Either that or go online and search. Of course he was happy to sell us the new club, but gave us all of our options. Later, an online search produced the wedge (used, in great condition) for $70. He could have easily pressed me to buy the new one, but that would not have been the best for my son. Instead, my trade cost me a whopping $30 and I will be a customer for life. This was great customer service in an era when it is usually lacking. Go visit these guys. They are honest and solid. read more

Racially profiles customers. I was endless followed around by an employee. He made me very uncomfortable and made me feel not welcomed. I told the employee that "I was good and didn't need any help" and he stated that he was "just doing my job sir". I was the only Pearson of color in the store at the time. It's also disturbing to read a previous review of a female customer being inappropriately touched in the store. Management said that has happened before. If it's happened before, why the hell is that employee still working there??!! If you are in the area check out Golf Mart or Kepler's. read more

They definitely profile people on appearance. My boyfriend is new to golfing so we don't look the part and got followed to the point where it was uncomfortable by one man and another employee even made a comment to him when we were in the shoe department. I understand loss prevention is a part of retail but we gave no reason for them to suspect us of stealing, we were the only customer in the store wearing tight workout clothes in summer, how am I going to fit a pair of size 11 shoes in my purse? Nothing like I can get you set up with something else to try or let me call one of the two guys standing behind the counter just talking to come help you out. Literally not doing anything. Great selection and good hitting bays. BUT club fitting was pretty awful. The guy helping me didn't know what they had available in shafts, didn't know they had different length shafts, kept using different style and brand iron heads when trying to select a shaft, etc. I would recommend going elsewhere if you need a club fitting. 0 stars if I could. For reference I'm a female, left handed golfer and there is nothing at this store for me. Ryan, is the most rude employee there but I must give him credit for ringing us up. I bought the display pair of women's golf shoes, the only ones in my size. I asked for a new pair if they had any in the back he didn't even bother to ask or check and just said "No.". He made no eye contact with me and bluntly told me the price. I showed him numerous stains on the shoe and politely asked if there is a discount for display or damaged products. And once again bluntly said "No.". We asked to speak with someone else and he said "There's no one else.". He read me my total and walked away once the machine finished reading my card. No thank you or help from Ryan or anyone else at this ignorant store. Never coming back here and never recommending this shop to anyone.
