Trackman facility with great people running it! Craig is THE MAN! Not a cookie cutter coach thats going to throw a band-aid on issues in your swing. Breaks it all down and builds a swing that fits you. Everything is explained so you have the tools to get better. Couldn't give a higher recommendation!

This place is dope, my cousins had his birthday party here and had a whole lot of fun. Craig really helped us out and coached us on our technique.

Coach KP practicing what he preaches, great coaching coming from an exceptional golfer.

The Golf Spot is a golfers dream. Coming from the Northern Bay Area, I've been a student of KP since 1/2021, I can say my knowledge, understanding and skill of the golf swing and game have been growing exponentially. Being in a fully immersive facility with state of the art equipment will only accentuate the talent KP brings to teaching the golf swing. I 110% recommend this place to anyone, from a rookie to a pro. I can't wait to continue learning from KP at The Golf Spot.

I've been taking lessons from Kevin for a few months now, and it's been a game changer. Literally. I'm finally taking my golf game seriously (I've been playing for fun off and on for years) and the progress I've made with Kevin continues to motivate me. He's an incredible coach. Articulate, observant, thoughtful, and highly skilled. To take it even further, the Trackman tech that Kevin now has at The Golf Spot is insane, allowing an incredible level of detail in understanding your swing mechanics, where/how you hit the ball, and more. This, in complement to Kevin's insights, takes your lessons to a whole new level. Plus, the place is dope and a killer spot to hang and practice your putting while you wait for your lesson. All of the coaches at TGS are legit, too. So if you're looking to improve your game or simply to get more serious about golf, definitely reach out to Kevin or Craig or anyone at TGS. Zero regrets! Level up!! Best spot in the Bay Area!

The Golf Spot is like a Golf SANCTUARY. The trackman setups are cutting edge and the putting green is perfect!! My coach Craig White has been helping me with my slice and I saw progress right away!!!

My family and I have gone twice so far, exclusively for the family friendly areas with the bounce…read morehouses. We also enjoyed the food truck and the cold drinks in the shop. The first time we went was great. The dragon bounce house was inflated and the size of the thing offset the amount of kids that were there. It didn't feel out of control, and it was a little more peaceful. Today, the dragon bounce house was deflated, because the bigger kids there were just destroying it. Not with malicious intent I'm sure, but these bounce houses are really not made for teenagers. Since the dragon bounce house was down, the big kids moved on to the remaining two bounce houses that are not even comparable in size to the dragon one. The big kids dominated the bounce houses, which made the smaller kids nervous. It was unsafe for the littles. Parents of the bigger kids were completely checked out and paying no mind to their out of control kids that were knocking over the smaller bounce houses. Additionally, you had big kids climbing on top of the roofs of the small play houses, which I was hoping my 11 month old could play in. No way would it have been safe with the much older boys literally jumping from the top of one roof to another. This place is so incredible, and highlights more of what we need in the area. We definitely need the dragon bounce house repaired, and absolutely need better safety measures to keep the smaller kids safe amongst the bigger ones. Parents need to be better about watching their kids, and perhaps an additional staff member can be assigned to the play area- making sure the big kids aren't destroying the bounce houses that they shouldn't be on anyways.

I used to really enjoy coming to Skylinks at Buchanan Fields. The improvements over the past few…read moreyears--especially to the driving range--have been great, and it was exciting to see the facility getting new life and attracting more people. That said, the range experience has recently become frustrating. I completely support the effort to make Skylinks more family-friendly and welcoming to a wider audience. But lately it feels like the pendulum has swung too far away from being a place where people can actually practice golf. On several visits, I've seen range bays occupied for extremely long stretches by people doing everything except hitting balls--eating meals, reading newspapers, hanging out socially, etc. Meanwhile, others who came specifically to practice are waiting around for a spot. It's discouraging when you come with the intention of working on your game but can't get access to the range. This seems like a policy issue that could be easily addressed. Implementing reasonable time limits for range bays during busy periods would go a long way toward making the experience fair for everyone. Many ranges already do this successfully. Skylinks has done a lot of great work revitalizing the facility, and I'd love to see that momentum continue. A few adjustments to how range time is managed would help ensure the space works well both for social visitors and for golfers who are there to practice.

Although Russell has the…read moretechnical knowledge to break down your golf swing from start to finish, he specializes in explaining the golf swing in the easiest way possible. Russell has the ability to teach using ideas rather than terms, thus eliminately multiple swing thoughts at the moment of impact. Russell emphasizes swing thoughts, as "the driver head must beat the hands at the finish line" and "once your thumbs are up, start the downswing." Russell's words of wisdom have helped lower my scores but more importantly, made golf more enjoyable, as I have to think much less lol. Aside from his golf knowledge, Russell has always been professional, well dressed (G/Fore), prompt, and always knows how to make people laugh when needed. Best of all is his pup, Crisco!

But I'm very grateful that I met Russell as my instructor. He made my experience so much enjoyable. Now that I'm getting into golfing and learning it. It's so fun! The outcome is always different every single swing, the movement. Literally everything. I looked forward to coming and learning more for my best potential. Russell always brings out the best during my lesson. *Always remember, PGA! (POSTURE, GRIP, ALIGNMENT)*. Every sports have its own fundamental skills and without knowing the basics, it's impossible to learn a new sports. He's definitely aware of this so he won't BS nothing! He starts off teaching the fundamental skills of golf, moves onto the next and so on and on. He has a book by John Jacob and he showed me how things are supposed to look like and that helped a lot for someone like me who's a tactile-visual learner. By the second lesson, I started to see the difference of my posture/swings right away. I never expected to learn this fast. He's super interactive and will point out the "mistakes" that I'm doing right away. My weakness was not be able to have my club DOWN or it was late. I GOTTA GO DOWN!! (you'll understand this once you start learning from him). I always have that in back of my mind to keep it down. I stopped thinking or focusing too much on the wrist, head, feet, backswings, things surrounding you because it makes it really difficult to have your own swing so now I just focus my eyes on the ball and do what he told me to do! Very happy with the results and where I'm at now. I'll definitely get more lessons from master shifu in his dojo! Thank you for making it so fun!!

(I think he thinks that I might cramp in on his guy time). I've been to the range a few times, but I couldn't seem to get the ball past the 50 yd flag. (That, and there have been a few times where the ball will catapult into the little walls that are around the mats...I've had to yell "duck" a few times)...But I digress. Byron has taught me how to actually hit the ball forward. I am now lobbing it clearly over 100 yards, and my grip on my clubs isn't white-knuckle tight. Yes, I know that it's not much, but again, I am a clear cut beginner, and Byron has me wanting to continue to play. He works in a great facility in Martinez called Power Endurance, and his set up is state of the art. I've seen a few of the other people he's been teaching, and they look like they're learning a lot. Looking at his little snippet on their website (trainpe.com), he has quite the pedigree in golf: Former NCAA All-American UCLA Golf Team Captain UCLA Golf Team MVP Teaching lessons over 25 years But what I like about him is he makes me feel comfortable with my game, and his suggestions on how to improve it have really helped.

I did a ton of research on instructors and one person kept coming up with nothing but positive reviews, Byron Schlagenhauf. I decided to give him a shot and scheduled lessons for my son. Byron has a great personality and teaching style which my son clicked with immediately. Byron shows my son how to do something, why he needs to do it, practices until he gets it right several times and then reviews what they did. After 5 lessons my son is now hitting the ball straighter, longer and more accurate than I could ever imagine. I would recommend abyronbto anyone at any level and I've decided to schedule lessons for myself.
