    Wild turkey and great views

Heard from other golfers I've played with that this place is a "gem" and I have to say I agree after playing a full 18. The weather was perfect for me at 95-100 degrees in the afternoon and the views were amazing. The pro shop folks were nice and welcoming. Grabbed a souvenir ball for sure. Pace of play was great throughout the round. Nice challenging course all around and some slow greens. Need to add some weight to my scotty after seeing how it fell short a few 30 footer plus putts. Overall I want to come back with more friends as this was a very memorable outing for me. Nature + Golf was a plus!

We finally had the chance to try out Blue Rock Springs Golf Course in Vallejo, after a high recommendation from my wife's friend - and I'm so glad we did! This course is a hidden gem in the Bay Area. We played the West Course, and it was fantastic, with well-maintained fairways and a layout that made every hole enjoyable and challenging in the best way. I can't wait to come back and experience the East Course next time. For anyone in the Bay Area looking for a quality round of golf, I'd highly recommend Blue Rock Springs. It's easily one of the best courses around.

Really enjoyed the round here.Greens were well maintained and fast. Interesting but challenging layout.Rental clubs ( Cleveland's ) were fairly new and affordable. Scenic vistas as well. Will come back when in

Easily accessible East Course from SF leads and undulates near the quarry. Two parking lots. Fairways are approachable up and down. Greens are undulating. Rough is cut low enough to play OR hides your ball. Not much OB or carries, and there are a few holes where thicker rough is essentially jail. Very reasonable rates, nice cafe and friendly staff.

Played 18 holes, and barely finished before sunset from a 1:20pm tee time. I played the west course and it was $32 for the tee time and I got a beef burrito for $10. The burrito was good. I walked the course and although it was a little hilly, it wasn't that bad. The views were pretty good on top of some of the hills and the course was in good condition, especially for $32 for 18 holes. If you're in the area I would recommend you book a tee time!

A couple of Sundays ago my friend invited me to play on this course for the first time. I looked up the course online and noticed it was a fairly short course at under 6200 yards from the tips. He made the reservation for the east course (there is another 18 holes on the west course). I also noticed that the slope was 127 which meant the course can be challenging even from 6100 yards. When I arrived I noticed that there were 3 parking areas. One was close to the entrance, the other was on a short hill and the third is closest to the club house. At first I parked up the hill and found it to be very quiet with no monitoring. As I was looking down I noticed an opening on the lot closest to the club house and drove down to get it. Other yelpers have indicated people have had their cars broken into on the hill. For the course itself, the east course was located on the other side of the main road and was reachable through a tunnel. The course itself played pretty tough. The fairways were tight in some places and in pretty good conditions thanks to the rain storm a few days before. The greens were tricky and ran at moderate speed. I did enjoy the course and would love to play out again. I shot a 79 but I think I can get it down to 75.

just an fyi...my car cam recorded this individual scoping out BR parking lot to possibly break in an grab anything. drives older BMW suv.

Challenging course, but definitely a hidden gem. Played the West course on the clubhouse side. Will be playing there again

She is a consummate professional, good sense of humor, very supportive, has good coaching tools and will work with your swing. No ego. Just fun golf talk and a kind person. The other coach...a guy at Blue Rocks is pretty cocky, walking around like he's cool... nah he's not.... he just starts to set up all his stuff for his class, as you and others are putting, yells for people to move and then when I asked what he was doing, he brings out his "pro" card or employee badge or whatever. Apparantly means, he owns the place. Anyways. Do not go for that guy. Rebekka is the Wo'man' for the job. She works w your swing and gives good practical tips to improve. She films your swing and sends it to you, I have spent many hours looking at my swing and playing back her words of wisdom and it has given me lots of helpful tips and you are able to work on them, on your own. She has a set rate and also a package rate that save you $$ (I got the package rate of 6 classes) She is awesome and soon will get booked up. So, give her a call ASAP. See pics of where we practice.

The first time we went was great. The dragon bounce house was inflated and the size of the thing offset the amount of kids that were there. It didn't feel out of control, and it was a little more peaceful. Today, the dragon bounce house was deflated, because the bigger kids there were just destroying it. Not with malicious intent I'm sure, but these bounce houses are really not made for teenagers. Since the dragon bounce house was down, the big kids moved on to the remaining two bounce houses that are not even comparable in size to the dragon one. The big kids dominated the bounce houses, which made the smaller kids nervous. It was unsafe for the littles. Parents of the bigger kids were completely checked out and paying no mind to their out of control kids that were knocking over the smaller bounce houses. Additionally, you had big kids climbing on top of the roofs of the small play houses, which I was hoping my 11 month old could play in. No way would it have been safe with the much older boys literally jumping from the top of one roof to another. This place is so incredible, and highlights more of what we need in the area. We definitely need the dragon bounce house repaired, and absolutely need better safety measures to keep the smaller kids safe amongst the bigger ones. Parents need to be better about watching their kids, and perhaps an additional staff member can be assigned to the play area- making sure the big kids aren't destroying the bounce houses that they shouldn't be on anyways.

I used to really enjoy coming to Skylinks at Buchanan Fields. The improvements over the past few…read moreyears--especially to the driving range--have been great, and it was exciting to see the facility getting new life and attracting more people. That said, the range experience has recently become frustrating. I completely support the effort to make Skylinks more family-friendly and welcoming to a wider audience. But lately it feels like the pendulum has swung too far away from being a place where people can actually practice golf. On several visits, I've seen range bays occupied for extremely long stretches by people doing everything except hitting balls--eating meals, reading newspapers, hanging out socially, etc. Meanwhile, others who came specifically to practice are waiting around for a spot. It's discouraging when you come with the intention of working on your game but can't get access to the range. This seems like a policy issue that could be easily addressed. Implementing reasonable time limits for range bays during busy periods would go a long way toward making the experience fair for everyone. Many ranges already do this successfully. Skylinks has done a lot of great work revitalizing the facility, and I'd love to see that momentum continue. A few adjustments to how range time is managed would help ensure the space works well both for social visitors and for golfers who are there to practice.

They have discounts for military / law enforcement (even retired). After that, it seems to go down hill. The carts are old and worn. There are no trash cans on the course. Why? There was no water available on the course. They had the little huts, but no coolers inside. It was 90 degrees today. No drink cart on the course. No water on the course. That's insane. The course is still challenging and fun to play, but seriously...it could be so much better. Especially considering the location it's in.
