Pricey! $85 for a small sea anemone. The store is so cluttered. But the reason why I am giving two stars is because I came here to get my water tested and see what they have and the owner asked me where I get my water and fish from and he bad mouthed CK fish world and Azusa pet where I normally go. Saying their water is bad and he only has the best. Telling me to bring my fresh water I got from other stores and he will prove himself and why. I don't know I am not about bad mouthing others. He also doesn't take time to talk to you he wonders the store and only talking to you as he walks by. Not very good customer service. When you ask questions he talks to you in a condescending manner. This was my first visit to goldfish plus and I was amazed at how nice the people who work there are I read these other negative reviews and I'm confused, Peter the owner and Chris is associate and over backwards to make you happy. I had to buy some supplies for my pond and Peter took the time to help me figure out what was going to be my best solution. He did not try to sell me stuff that I do not need, as a matter of fact I had more product picked out then what was needed. This place is a hidden gem. I have been a loyal customer for almost 2 years now. My family has bought about 3 different types of pets from here, and not to mention water for my tank, crickets,meal worms, and cages. Peter the owner has the best prices in the area and also is very helpful at answering questions about the animals he sales and how to correctly care for them. I have read some of the other negative reviews and I'm surprised I have never had a bad experience here at all. My daughter is autistic and it takes a lot of patience to get her to look and touch animals she is not used to, but Peter got her to feed and pet the Guiena pigs he sales. My daughter liked it so much that we had to buy one for her and another for her little brother. Fast forward two and a half months we went back to take him 3 baby's which he gave us store credit for. Yes,the store is cluttered with inventory but since he leased the space next door it's not as bad anymore. This is a place where I can walk in and I feel like I have known Peter and his 2 workers my whole life. I would recommend this place to anyone who can appreciate an old school mom n pop shop instead of big brother stores like Petsmart. read more

I have really enjoyed visiting this store. I've bought water hyacinth here for my pond (they're so hard to find and he sells them cheaper than eBay), food for fish fry, a tank, water plants and various little things all on different visits. I'll admit the first time I went I was a bit unsure about the place because of some of the reviews on here, so I only browsed quickly and left after a few minutes (ok fine also because I saw some snakes in a tank and got a little squeamish haha), but I'm so glad I came back and gave this place another try. There were indeed a lot of stuff packed into the store, but it just means this store has tons of varieties of stuff. As to the smell, I mean it's a relatively small store with a lot of fish and creatures, I have a tiny tank in an open living room but I can still smell it sometimes, so I'm not sure what people expect. The owner Peter has been extremely helpful, I'm a beginner in keeping fish and he's patiently explained things to me, and I find his prices very reasonable. He's very knowledgeable and very approachable, it sometimes feels like having a big brother coaching you. There have been times when I think I needed to buy some things and he'll tell me I don't need it, I really appreciate that because I make some impulsive purchases sometimes lol. I'll look for things online like on amazon or eBay, and come in and ask for it, he always has the things I want or recommends something better for me, the price is always reasonable, and I get to pick up right then and there instead of waiting for it to ship. read more

Have been going there off and on for ten years (fish owner for 40 years), Peter is clearly the "go-to guy" when you need real details and support. Yes the store is cluttered, but that because he has over 10k sq ft of stuff in a 3k sq ft store front. He knows where its all at, so just ask. A solid cross section of fresh/salt/outdoor supplies and fish and the reoccurring items you will be buying every month or two. More to the point, when an item breaks and you find yourself needing to say "Peter I need a rubber seal for my XYZ pump" he will give you a solution when a big box store will not and cause you to buy the whole things again. He tends to want to give every client some individual attention, so that can mean a wait at busy times. Apart from a lack of plants (so please take off half a point from the above), the selection is quite good. I would say he caters to the more advanced pet owner then the newbie 'I always wanted to own a fish tank' types, that may be a factor in some of these negative reviews. My experience has been quite different from the others apparently. I recently started going here and Peter (owner) has been nothing but helpful to me and very nice to my children (speaks directly to them, gives them food to feed the koi). Yes, the place is a giant mess (you would NOT want to be here in an earthquake), but it's not enough to keep me away. Peter is knowledgable, his helper is extremely helpful, and as far as I can tell, the prices are good. The other reviews have me seriously scratching my head. Ended up here on my quest to find filters for my 6 gallon fish tank. I stopped by the Petsmart in Walnut/City of Industry and apparently they no longer carried it there. However, one of the employees told me about Goldfish Plus, which was about a 10-15 minute drive from Petsmart. He told me that they would most likely have it there. I dropped a call over to Goldfish plus and sure enough, they said they had what I was looking for. When I first walked in I was overwhelmed with the volume of inventory inside, crammed in such a small space. Some may call it messy, and unorganized and they very well may be right, but I am just happy they sold the filters my tank needed. I spoke to the owner, and he was a really nice guy. He already had my filters waiting for me at the counter. Price wise, I think they have pretty reasonable prices. Goldfish Plus has all you need for your aquarium and or koi fish ponds. Just be sure to give them a call first, so they can have your items ready for you, so you don't have to go looking for them yourself...its a jungle in there! :) read more

The owner, Peter, is a knowledgeable, funny, honest, and awesome guy!!! I got my bearded dragon from him about 6 months ago and came back for my leopard tortoise 3 months ago. I have been to the shop about 8 times since then to get a variety of things (climbing branch, feeding dishes, hides, beardie leash, food). I have also been to other local pet stores to compare prices and customer service. Peter has HANDS DOWN the best prices and always makes us feel welcome and happy to see us every time we visit! When we bring in our beardie, he cuts his nails for free. He spends time getting to know his customers and his loyal clientele is evidence of this!! Yes, it is a little more cluttered than typical, which is okay with me because I am a fan of treasure hunting for things (thrift stores/yard sales) but if you ask Peter what you are looking for, he knows exactly where he keeps them! Store is very cluttered and quite sad. Several fish were cut up and had scars. I've grown up with fish and reptiles in my house so this made me very upset. They had snakes to buy through it the store that were in tiny tanks. All of the animals needed bigger tanks. Felt so bad for all of them! read more
