A charming pet store with a self-serve dog wash area tucked in the back. We discovered Hip Hound through Instagram when they were hosting a Cinco de Mayo event. The shop has a great selection of treats, clothing, and accessories for both dogs and cats. Our pups had a blast enjoying chicken tacos and sipping on a little "Paw-garita." My friend even picked up some adorable Crocs-style shoes for her dog, too cute to resist! Everyone working there was friendly and helpful. It was late New Years Eve and I was scrambling for a place that might sell booties or shoes for my mini poodles. We are headed to Mammoth Thursday morning and I know lots of places are closed New Years Day(as they should be). I was mid walk with my fur babies when I remembered this place and they had options so I went as fast as I could. I was very pleased when I walked in. Great service! I could tell when I called ahead they would have great service. The owner/manager knew I was the person who had called right away and took me to the options. I was able to try on a couple of fits and chose the best ones for my two pups. They offer doggie baths - I could see they had a pup in a tub being bathed as we were there. They are located on Rowland between Barranca and Citrus. Across from the Covina Bagelry not far from Golden Bowl or Shoppers Lane. They have plenty of short term parking up front or around the side. Prices are fair and they have a great selection. I hadn't even intended to get anything else but I remembered at check out that I needed some treats. I typically use Glandex when I see my pups scooting their bums. They had a couple of options. I went with the Scooter's butt bar minis. I am looking forward to getting my pups used to their new footwear : ) I'll definitely be returning here. We even got to talking about pack walks and they have a reward program. Came here for the first time to use the self-service shower for my frenchie and had a lovely experience! Would recommend this place for self-service wash if your dog is under-socialized like mine, it is a room with a single shower so there aren't any other dogs around. It wasn't too expensive, $20 for 20 minutes. The actual shop had a lot of specialized products that looked interesting, we got a few of their treats which our frenchie has enjoyed so far. The employee at the time was a young woman, didn't get her name but she was very friendly and attentive even when the shop became busy! I don't normally write reviews, but we had a great experience! We were in a pinch and I found Hip Hound had self service dog cleaning. I gave them a call and they were incredibly helpful over the phone. We came in later that afternoon and the staff was great, helpful, and explained how to use everything. Halfway through, they even checked in letting us know how much time we had left. Our dog hates water but he did great here and the amenities were fantastic.
