The service is good, and the price is a little bit higher than others. The lens is $10 higher than others, if you add anti-flare(AR), the price is also $10 higher than others. But the bad experience is the eye examination, the OD and OS are 0.25 less than my previous eye examination result. So when I wear the new glasses brought from Golden Milpitas Optometry and drive my car at night, it's really a little bit hard for me to see the traffic clearly. So I went to this store for 3 times, and the doctor there re-examine my eyes for another two times, she said there is nothing wrong with the examination result. It's really not safe for me to drive a car at night. I suggest the eye doctor re-check if there is something wrong with their devices. read more

Pricey, Pricey, Pricey, Snobby, Snobby, Snobby That pretty much sums it up. I stopped by a few times seriously looking for a pair of glasses to use up my vision insurance. Each time they had different ladies behind the counter, but they all acted like "princess". It must be a culture thing in this store. If you don't decide within 7~8 pairs, and pause a bit to think, they walk away from you, even during the week when they're not busy. There was a new lady there who just started. She was very nice and tried to help more (I guess she has not been "brain washed" yet), but quickly got talked down to by another lady, right in front of customers, happened more than once. That's real low. I think they cater to rich clienteles. But they forgot those of us who might dress down on a grocery shopping next door would have as much of a buying power with insurance from good company benefits. Even the technician guy (thin and wears a white coat) normally working in the back was stuck-up. He was asked to adjust a frame for me to try on. He had that look and said "Wait a minute", but never came over. Avoid this place at all costs. The only reason this place stays in business is its location. It gets all the foot traffic from a very busy plaza. Pricey, bad service. I saw the same pair at Lense Crafter in Valley Fair for $350. This place wants $460. If you still want to check it out, try their sister's store in Valco mall (Golden Vision of Cupertino? inside Valco). They have the same selections, same prices, but a lot better services. read more

This place is an absolute nightmare!!!!!!! I walked in cos the frames in the window display looks kinda funky. Once inside, I was helped by TWO totally inexperienced SAs - WTH!!! They were mumbling and fumbling. I wasn't being difficult but I said I wanted brightly colored plastic frames and they kept pushing NON-colored frames to me - DOUBLE DUH! Anyway, I finally found a pair of frame I like so I went through the eye exam which was pretty decent - wait wasn't too bad considering that it was on a Sunday afternoon. The doc who examined me only works there part time - she is alright. After my eye exam, I had to go through an ardrous process of completing the forms & payment. They were just not smiley friendly people. That is annoying. Overall, I will rate this "post payment pre-frame collection" experience as slightly below average. BUT, when I went to collect the frames, service was NON-EXISTENT!!!!!!! It was HORRIBLE! No words can really describe the totally screwed up obnoxious SA who attended to me. (1) He was in his 20s and has the "I am so good looking and and I wish I was somewhere else but here" attitude. (2) He told me to try on my frames and see how they fit BUT he did not attempt to adjust my frames! Any good optometrist WILL adjust your frames. NOT THIS DUDE! All he did was give me a bored look and drawled if it is OK! NOT OK DUDE! So I got mad and asked someone else to help and this DUDE has the cheek to say RIGHT IN MY FACE, to his colleague "what is her problem???". This is soooooooooooo messed up! After I asked another SA (pre-sale lady) who pointed to another guy to help me out - I finally got my frames and hauled my ass out of the HORRIBLE shop. NEVER AGAIN will I patronise this shop. STAY AWAY! read more

I went there to get Ortho-k lenses for myself. They were late by an hour on our appointment. We then saw the optometrist who was worse than a used car sales person. Having already gotten all the info on Ortho-k lenses I asked for pricing and all they did was go into a sales speech of the benefits repeating himself multiple times. I know something was up with these guys when they kept avoiding my cost question. Listening to the doc was painful. We were then transitioned to the owner who sat with us to discuss pricing. She was a total slime ball. She wanted us to sign a contract to make sure we come back every year and pay her $600 to by new lenses. I know doctors who've been wearing their Ortho-k lenses for multiple years. The contract was full of punitive fines and late fees if we did not come back in a year. I could barely stand another moment in what seemed like a back alley store. We finally left there and wiped all the sales slime off our clothes and found a doctor who is much better than this place. ***** STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE ****** read more

Kathy Ip is so helpful! She is very patient, respectful, and accommodating when it came to picking glasses for my parents :)

Dr. Wen is very nice. Huy is friendly, too. Highly recommend this place for someone looking for optometrists.

this place is HORRIBLE! Their services are extremely bad, the ladies work behind the counter look stuck up and didn't want to help me at all. Just because I was wearing t-shirts and jeans that day doesn't mean I cannot afford to buy expensive designer glasses. This place is unbelievebly ridiculous as I honestly do not understand why they are still in business. And their eye exams and glasses and contacts are all expensive than market value. read more

Finally stopped going. I'm sick of my prescriptions getting messed up and the new "eyewear specialists" trying to rip me off with unnecessary crap. read more

This place is like a zoo! THey overbook their patients thus making me wait for over an hr for a simple eye exam. Their exams are not even done with much care or attention. The drs just casually check for like 10 mins. I've seen more attentive drs before. I was really upset for waiting that long so i was very quiet....and the dr i saw was asking me 'do u have a problem?" I should have told her off! by the way, they gave my hubby a quote on some contacts and when the lenses came in, they said they have mistakenly given him a wrong quote. The lenses actually cost more. My hubby asked them to give him the price quote...guess what? they refused! NEVER go to this place if you want your glasses to fit comfortably coz the ppl there aren't opticians! They don't know how to adjust glasses. I felt so uncomfortable with my glasses, i told the girl to adjust it....she kept saying it looks fine...that's how it's supposed to look. I insisted to have them adjusted. The girl then told me i have to come back coz the optician wasn't there. read more

Sharon is the best. She is super nice and very patient through the while process, I will definitely come back.

Great product at great prices but do NOT try to get an eye examination there. Customer service is generally good for retail, but they have no notion of appointment vs walk-in for eye exams. We waited for nearly an hour, and that is just inexcusable. A full time receptionist to handle appointments, given the volume of business, seems mandatory. 4 stars for the products and prices, 1 star for the eye exam. read more

Well...it's all coming back...just realized why I haven't come back here for years...been waiting to get an eye exam for 20 min.there are 10+ people working but only 2 optometrists. I paid $250 for a pair of eyeglasses. It is in poor quality. First, when I picked up the eyeglasses, the frame was too tight and I felt very uncomfortable when I tried it on. I asked them to fix it, they failed to do it after multiple tunings. Then I fixed it myself with a KNIFE! Second. One nose pad dropped off after one month of wearing. The other dropped off after another two month! I got my old eyeglasses in China and it has been 8 years, the nose pad are filthy and yellow but they are still ON. So... I came here (yes, I am sitting in their office right now) and asked them to fix it. They asked me for FIVE DOLLARS. The whole repair on Amazon costs only $5 and that includes shipping and two pairs of nose pads and a dozen small screws! Of course, I got mad of their action and told them "WHY IS THAT!". They installed new nose pads for free. However, I won't come back to this place any more. I am thinking to get Google Glasses and I am afraid they may mess it up. I am going elsewhere to get lenses! Bye bye! Screw-your-customer-optometry! read more

This is place is a rip off. I saw the exact same Bulgari eye glasses at Stanford Shopping Mall, Ilori, for only $415 and this place sells the exact same glasses for $505. When I asked why their price is so much higher than the rest of other retail stores, this chinese lady just told me use your insurance to pay for it. They are not even ashamed for pricing at least 20% over than other retailers... Buyers be aware if you want to over-spend on glasses for not even some good service, then you are welcome to go to this store. read more

They hv a good collection of sun glasses. I liked the service offered, they were very friendly too.

I have come here to buy prescription sunglasses because I searched it on VSP website. and I think the store has a lot of selections. the store is very busy. but the price is 20% higher than others. And I have to say that sales lady here are pushy. and they try to sell you the brand like tiffany, cartier. And the most important thing is that these brand sunglasses they dont tag a price on it. They keep telling you to choose your style first and then they will tell you the price. It took 3 weeks to get my glasses. and they never call you to pick up. you have to call to ask by yourself. read more

I recently moved to San Jose and needed a new optometrist. I am rather selective when it comes with my eyewear, as I prefer that they are stylish and practical. Golden Milpitas has a great selection and an amazing staff! I am glad that I did not pay attention to a few of the comments about the staff friendliness because Sharon and Dr. Chen were both amazing! So, usually when I visit, I see a bunch of ladies (who don't look like they know much about fashion) helping others with their specs and sunglasses. However, recently, I see a new guy, Leon? I think that's his name, he truly knows what looks good and what doesn't, he suggested some shades for my boyfriend, some shades he would've never tried it but guess what, they looked amazing and we ended up buying two pairs that day. But.. here's the part I didn't understand, he was the one who spent about 20-30 minutes with us but the one who did the bill wasn't him, I hope he was recognized for the sales... Anyhow, I highly recommend Leon to anyone who is looking for great style tips and what looks good/bad. read more

Stay away from this place! Seriously! I had a pair of glasses there, only to find out that I was charged $100 for for the frame alone! The frame I chosed was a designer brand, the retail price at other places is $285, while they charged me $385. Lenses were $184 AFTER insurance!!! For the same lenses without insurence at costco are only $120!!! I blamed myself for not researching them before getting glasses there!! I sincerely hope no one else will repeat my experience there!! The service was ok, not great but acceptable. However, if you don't want to be ripped off, then you'd better do your research and compare the price yourself! update: I am so angery now!! I went to two other stores and found out for the same lenses they charged for $184, only costs $120 at the other two places!! The "best lenses" they claim are the class D, high index, the coating added are uv prptection, scratch resistant, and anti-reflection, and vsp has prices for these that you can check out online at their website!! I officiall hate this place, overcharged $160 just for one pair!!!! read more

And set up appointment for me to LaserVue eye center to meet my surgeon Dr. Boghossian at Mountain View. Dr. Wen she is wonderful and helpful. I have been coming here for several years now, and to be honest if my parents didn't like the employees so much, I wouldn't bother coming back here due to the price. It is ridiculously priced, and totally not worth it in my opinion for a pair of frames. I have been having eye problems abroad for almost half a year abroad before I was able to come back an get my condition medically examined by the optometrists here. I was pronounced with allergies and dry eye syndrome, with medications prescribed for me. I had to keep coming back for medical exams and check ups, and they would not keep my consistently seeing the same doctor (there are at least 3 different optometrists working here, and I saw each of them at least once during the worst of my symptoms). Also, they somehow got my name registered wrong even though I had been coming here for years, and could not get t records straight for a long time. They were continually confused by if I was here for a medical exam or a contact fitting exam, though I had explicitly told them that I had a medical condition that needed to be examine before I moved forward with contacts. They also lost my most recent files and so could not find my record for the first 10 minutes, which I felt was a big waste of my time. I also received differing analyses on the condition and treatment of my eyes, and type if contacts (daily or bi monthly) would be most suitable an least irritable for me by the different doctors I saw. Not exactly comforting to me... All in all, I found my experience here unsatisfactory and demeaning, as one of the doctors repeatedly asked me with sarcasm and some contempt if I had followed their directions to take my medication. I am looking for a new optometrist, and would appreciate somewhere less expensive, less concentrated on Asian clients, and more mindful of their patients' frustration with the whole process. read more
