TL;DR: Golden Vision Milpitas: swapped prescription lenses, scratched new frames during remake, and disappointing service--refund only after escalation. I purchased Tom Ford frames with high-index lenses (total nearly $900) from this store. The entire process dragged on for over a month, and the overall experience was disappointing. 1. Technical Error: At the first pickup, the left and right lenses were swapped (OD measurements used for the OS lens and vice versa). This is a basic yet serious quality control issue for a professional optical shop. 2. Lack of Care and Protection: The store sent the glasses back for remake. Before the second pickup, I called ahead and asked staff to verify the lenses with a lensmeter and check for any other issues to avoid another unnecessary trip. The staff responded in a dismissive and impatient manner, repeatedly assuring me everything was correct. However, when I arrived, although the lenses had been corrected, the inside rim of my brand-new frames was scratched (see photo). 3. Poor Service and Unreasonable Solution: I refused the damaged product and requested reasonable compensation for the time and cost of multiple trips. The optical manager later called and offered a solution of only a $20 store credit on a nearly $900 purchase, as compensation for over a month of repeated travel, time, and gas. This was clearly insufficient and would require me to return as a customer, which I found unacceptable. 4. Refund Difficulties: When I insisted on a full refund, I was told that because more than a month had passed, a credit card refund was not possible and that I would need to wait 2-3 weeks for a check from corporate. I refused this delay and requested escalation. After escalation, higher management acknowledged the issues, apologized, and processed a full refund to my original credit card on the same day. Although the refund was ultimately completed, the process took over a month, required multiple trips, and caused unnecessary inconvenience and frustration. Overall, this location's professionalism and customer service were disappointing. Given the importance of your time, money, and vision care, I recommend choosing your optical provider carefully. My vision haven't changed for many years and it doesn't took long to get my eyes exam...they still can't help with it..terrible f**** services..will never come back here again! Bye and good luck!

Need 7 pairs only got 5 pairs  Offered to pay didn't get it

Very disappointed Been coming to golden optometry since 20013 ran out of contact lenses came in to schedule an yearly exam. Which will be1 week out Asked for some daily lenses before my appointment The lady not only rude and keep Arguing about it's the policy they only gave me 5 until the exam . I even offered to pay for the extra 2 pairs contacts I know it's Monday but when you mgr not there this is not how to treat your customers Especially the Second Lady came up to me with very rude attitude.

I have been buying glasses in Gordon for three consecutive years because they have a wide selection of new models, and each time I receive excellent service. I met the salesperson here: Kathy, and she is a very friendly person. Last year, thanks to her recommendation , I purchased glasses that I really liked. A few days ago, when I went to the store to choose glasses, she even arranged for a doctor to examine my eyes and informed me that I have dry eye disease. She carefully explained how to use the medication, and I am truly grateful ful for that. Once my eyes get better, I'll go back to buy this year's sunglasses.

I wasted my time driving to the office on my day off hoping to order glasses. I tried to call before I left but nobody answered the phone. When I arrived the rude, judgemental valley girl sitting at the front desk rudely and condescendingly told me they only do eyeglasses by appointment. When I asked why she made up excuses about how they're "short staffed." LOL. Oh honey! Eyeglasses aren't rocket science. Any receptionist at every clinic can do them. Those two bored receptionists were just sitting on their ass not doing anything. I know they could've helped me. I used to think very highly of this business. Now it's obvious they hate money and hate customers. I hope they go bankrupt. It's very clear that they will considering how empty the store was and how they turn away paying customers. Especially for eyeglasses, their number 1 revenue source.

It was really convenient living close by as kids, and we always had generally good experiences with Dr Choi and Tran. However, since they moved locations, I've noticed a huge dip in their customer service/selection. I recently went in because my glasses broke (purchased a year and a half ago at Focus). I made an appointment and arrived on time and waited a bit, then was told I could go look at glasses and someone would be with me. Soon, one of the associates arrived and she had a sheet for my insurance. I told her multiple times that I had new insurance under my husband, and I insisted on seeing that sheet as well. She got another girl to print it out and then barely explained anything to me before walking away to help another customer. Regardless of the insurance, I felt like I wasn't a customer that they cared about. Not one smile, how are you, how can we help you. Instead they talked down to me and had no empathy for the fact that this was the THIRD pair of focus optometry glasses that have broken in the past ten years. I ended up selecting a frame that was cute and one of the associates told me those were no good. I ignored her and went to a different associate and asked for a price. Without telling me the price she told me those frames were discontinued and they no longer make them. I asked why they were on display and she shrugged and said that's why she put them up higher so nobody would grab them. So I asked alright, can I see glasses similar to these then? And she immediately points me to a locked case of Tiffany and Co / Gucci glasses like girl I know what you're doing. I ended up grabbing my broken glasses and I just left. Over sixteen years of going here and I'm pretty sure I'll be finding a new optometrist.

Super unprofessional and they will try to take advantage of your insurance and bill extra. My dad has two insurances and he came in for an eye exam and they billed both of his insurance. I called to order contacts and they said I had to pay some cost out of pocket. When I questioned them, they said they are using my left over credit carried over from last year. But if that was the case, they should have been able to charge the remaining amount on my current allowance. It wasn't until I asked them to explain step by step that they billed my insurance correctly. On top of that, they said they will call me back to ask the doctor about insurance. They never called me back, I had to reach out to them MULTIPLE times. Horrible experience and I will switch optometrists.

However, the past few years have made me reconsider. It has been increasingly difficult to get someone to answer the phone to even schedule an appointment. I have been calling for over 2 weeks to try and make an appointment but every time I call, there is a busy dial. In addition, the quality of the glasses lens has been extremely poor lately. The lens on both my boyfriend's and my pairs have flaked off in no less than 2 months. Even with a free 1-time replacement, the lens still flake and look horrible. My older glasses never had this issue. I recently moved and have been trying to justify staying with Dr. Lai, but I think I will finally make the decision to move onto another optometrist who is more local and can provide the quality of care I used to receive from here.
