Came here with my dad to get some new glasses. First time here and the workers were very attentive and informative. Sat down and one of the girl workers explained everything to us. Waited for maybe 10 minutes and the doctors called me in to get my eyes examined. (from here on its basically the same procedure you do at every other optometrist. Pros: they have a huge variety of glasses/sunglasses to choose from Friendly workers Very helpful and informative Cons: I don't have any. read more

Jamie was super helpful! She's very attentive to the client's needs and recommended a lot of stylish frames for me to try on. I liked a particular O&X frame and she put it on hold for me for a few days, and called me to follow up. Although I ended up getting my new glasses from another store (because I like another frame better), I highly recommend Golden Milpitas Optometry for their service. Another thing worth mentioning: they have the Alain Mikli collection! I heard about it before and finally I saw it. Very stylish and unique Parisian design. With an exhorbitant price too :)) read more

Convenient location and very friendly staff! I love all the Chinese restaurants around and if the place is busy you can walk over to grab some tea at Fantasia while you wait. In my experience, appointments were kept relatively on time (maybe 10-15 minutes at most) and the optician I had (Pearl) was very professional. I was diagnosed with dry eyes and sent away with some prescription eye drops for free by the doctor, which was awesome. I had to come back a week later to actually get fitted for contacts, which turned out to be a breeze--we went through 3+ lenses per eye but it was a better experience than other places I have been to (trust me, I have really finicky eyes). Great selection of frames, but unfortunately I'm not a gazillionaire. They are pretty nice about letting you try things on even if you're obviously not going to buy anything. read more

Today it's my first time visit. I did optometry exam and purchased two pair of glasses. It was nice and smooth experience. Kathy has been very patient with me while I choose and hesitate between different frames. She was able to help me find what I need and take advantage of my insurance coverage. A nice experience overall. read more

I would give them negative stars if I could. I bought my Chanel sun glasses for $470 at this store and the tint came off. ( the tint should not come off genuine Chanel products and should be warrantied). I called them 2 weeks ago and they told me to bring them in. I have to drive 4 and half hours to get here only for the manager to look at them and say they cannot help me, don't put my sunglasses inside the car and they said "You should call Chanel company." I was willing to pay for the repair, but her attitude, the fact that she did not want to talk to me after she looked at my sunglasses and talked to me from a distance that she cannot help really upset me. I was so disappointed about the service that they gave me. I was almost in tears when I think about the time and effort that I made just to come there and talk to them and it did not work out. I will not coming back because of the very unsatisfactory service and rude people. read more

I have had eye exams every year here since 2014. The equipments are advanced. The doctors are very professional and staffs are patient here.

Service provided by Kathy was excellent. My son needed eye glasses and eye exam, Kathy was able to fit us in to see Dr Ma right away. Kathy is very responsive, polite and organized. My son went in to see Dr Ma. He is very patience with my son who is 8 year old. My husband has question regarding to the orthokeratology service that Golden optometry provided, Dr Ma took his times and FaceTime my husband and explained to him (my husband had to work that day so he couldn't go) , Dr Ma was very patience in explaining how orthoK works and we didn't feel rush. We have been a customer for over 5 years and this is the reason why !!! Thank you Kathy and Dr. Ma! read more

Shout out to Grace and Dr. Ma for the great service. The staff was friendly and very helpful.

We have been visiting Golden Optometry for the past few years. Sharon has been our go to point of contact for anything related to optometry. She always has a smile on her face and is very patient with the customers when helping them with the glasses. She makes sure to immediately follow up when the glasses are available. She is quite patient when helping customers understand the nitty gritty of glasses and various addons that comes along with it. She has never been pushy with us when it came to specifications of glasses and various minor addons that can be added to it like blue light filters etc. She has been the reason why my wife keeps going back to Golden Optometry . read more

I went in for a check up. Haven't seen them in 7 years because my vision was perfect. I got fitted for my first pair of glasses. Sharon helped me find frames similar to the Tiffany frames that fitted my face the best. The similar ones were in my budget. :P She was very considerate and thorough in her explanation of the lens and coating options. I found glasses that I feel great in and felt great about my experience. read more

Went there recently for an eye exam. Their staff were very friendly, always with a big smiles. I was amazed the way they treated their customer/patient - very caring and professional. They analyzed your needs and in turn gave you the best recommendation. I will continue using this office for my future eye care. read more

I recently had an eye exam done here at Golden in Milpitas. I was recommended by a friend of mine. I was a bit skeptical due to the negative reviews on Yelp. My visit was actually surprisingly smooth and thorough. I called on friday morning and got a same day appt with Dr. Angela Huang. I showed up on time and filled out the paperwork. I was seen in less than 5 mins of wait, which I really appreciated. Dr. Huang was very thorough, patient and nice. She answered all of my questions and did the most thorough eye exam that I have ever had! She dilated my pupils and offered an extra pair of eye shields even though I had my own sunglasses. She offered helpful tips on how to better take care of my eyes and contact, which I really appreciated. She even correct my precription from my previous optometry due to over-correction of my vision which resulted in eye strain. I'm pretty happy with my visit. When I was waiting for my pupil to be dilated, I walked around the shopping plaza and had a bite to eat. Im suppose to go back for a quick follow up to finalize my new prescription. I was only charged $10 for my contact lens exam copay! I am much more satisfied here than my previous optometrist in Mountain View Optometry. I was charged well over $80 for the same thing. read more

This is a long over due review as I have been going to this place for about 20 years now. Emery has great knowledge and customer service skill, even after I moved to other area, I still come back here for my yearly eye exam, glasses and contact lenses selections as I know that Emery will be there to help me. Highly recommended this Optometry. read more

Edit: I had originally given them 2 stars, but they've been nice and efficient to get things straightened out completely so that I can get my glasses. They've yet to arrive, so I'll refrain from commenting on the quality of the work that they outsource. They've given me a few phone calls apologizing for the mix ups and trouble, which was very nice. Nearly an entire month will have elapsed before the glasses arrive to my doorstep, 2 1/2 weeks if I hadn't ask for them to ship it to me. I guess that's alright. I'm giving them one more star. A-OK =), thanks for the effort. Original Review: Ugh Service procured: A pair of new glasses to replace my broken ones I stumbled upon this place while shopping the 99 Ranch. I had been looking for a new optometrist since the one I had, East Bay Vision Center, has REALLY gone downhill in service, politeness, frame selection...well, basically everything that would make a visit to the optometrist enjoyable at the very least. The final straw with them came with my latest glasses prescription where they mangled the crap out of my frames to make them wider (they had mistakenly ordered a 51 instead of a 53 size frame and filed down the plastic to make it fit.) Long story short; I hate them. I thought I found something different in Golden Milpitas. I was treated well in my initial visit. They guided me along their selection and were generally very polite. Prices were a bit higher than online, but what optometrist doesn't jack up prices? I come back another day and it's like their demeanor takes a complete 180...They rushed me through that day, I sat there looking at the selection they have for about 15 minutes and they began to look visibly irate. Their voices go from understanding to harsh. Not sure what I did to tick them off, I just wanted to choose the frame that was the right fit for me. If they were too busy to help me immediately, then they should go help someone else. I won't dock points for it. Honestly. I finally order the glasses and lenses, and they said it would take about 10 days to have a finished product in their hands. They call me 10 days later to tell me that the glasses were "ready" and that I should go pick it up. I arrive to the store and they tell me that they were actually not ready, and someone there had prematurely called me to pick them up. Ok, I don't know how they managed to mess this one up, but cmon, I don't have time to waste on mishaps like this. They tell me that the glasses will be ready in 7 days, and that they will ship it to my house through UPS. I'll be nice and give them 2 stars for trying to make it up to me, but I will not be coming back to this place. Time to keep looking... read more

I've been coming to Golden Milpitas Optometry for over 4 years since I lived in the South Bay. By far, they have the best selection of designer frames at a competitive prices. My experience at this location has been so good that I continue to come here now living in SF and endure the 1 hr+ commute. Andy (the GM) is extremely helpful, and is a excellenttrusted advisor when it comes to helping you find the right frames. Highly recommended! read more

This place tends to have lots of people in it all the time. I guess like the other reviews state, it's "zoo-y". However, you really can't beat the selection here. They have so many different designer brands, you'll be hard pressed to not find a pair of frames you didn't like. Their prices are fair for the market considering most brand names are very expensive (say $800 for Cartier). The stuff is authentic and legit though. It's the real stuff instead of the discounted imitation faux stuff you can get online. They seem to offer pretty extensive services here as they have a full set of testing equipment and supply contacts as well. The service is OK. Sometimes you have to wait a real long time, especially if there are a lot of people there. I haven't tried making an appointment there, but if it's to find frames, I doubt it'll help. For the most party the service for me has been great since a friend knows one of the girls that works there, but I have seen others treated poorly at times. Make sure you have VSP or some kind of insurance though, it'll really help you save some money to buy some high end frames. You can negotiate with them as well, especially if you're buying more than one frame or you have someone else buying frames too! read more

Been coming here since the mid-90s. Be sure to ask for Emily Nhan, as she always calculates for the best deal according to your insurance. Staffers are very friendly and across the staff usually speak English, Cantonese, Mandarin, and Vietnamese, so we easily find a good agent each time. Good location, too, as family members usually pop by Fantasia for some boba, and read the magazines available in Golden while waiting for the inspections. Selections are good and range from cheapos (i.e. fully covered by insurance) to higher-end glasses from Ray Bans to Gucci. read more

I should give them negative star. Their service is horrible. I placed the order for my glasses on December 2 , 2021 and the scheduled pick up time is December 17. I called, text them at least 10 times since December 10 to check my order status but they never response me till December 17. On the last minutes of pick up date, they found my glasses coding is wrong and asked Lab to replace new one. They didn't pay the express fee to make up for their late delivery mistake. I finally got my glasses on December 28. It takes total 26 days after placing my order. read more

This is the worst clinic I have ever been. They are cheating customer. I have an appointment this afternoon in this clinic . after eye exam, I started to select glass frame. The girl ( I don't know her name) taken out a box of frames (about 10 frames) that are all very cheap plastic frames. Definitely no one could select those frames. Then I asked her could shown me more, she said your insurance only cover this brand frames. Then she pointed to the wall that display many well known brand frames and said you could select the brand names frames but your insurance doesn't covered. I am surprised that insurance only covered one cheap brand. I asked her to print my insurance covers paper, she printed and my insurance shows that it covered $150 for frame, does not mentioned any brand requirements. Then I understand that she shown me very cheap plastic frames and she known that I will not select those frames and I have no choice that I have to buy very expensive frames. I decided not to buy the frame and lens in this clinic. After that, I went to Costco. They checked my insurance and told me my insurance doesn't not have any limitations for brand! I am happy to have my glass frame and lens in Costco. To do business, most important thing is to be honest to customers. The clinic try to cheat customer to buy very expensive frames is shameless. read more

I was recommended to go here by a friend of mine. I went on a Saturday afternoon, worst decision of my life. The parking here is horrendous. It took me 15 minutes to find a parking. However, there is another lot in the back so make sure to check that out too. The inside of the store was nice and clean. They have a great selection of contact lens, glasses and sun glasses. Since it was my first time here, I had to read and sign some paper. Took about 10 minutes. Kiana did all my pre-tests, they included pictures of my eyes and a fun click-test when you see a black flicker of light. That was probably my favorite. Oh, and watch out for the test that shoots air into your eye, that one caught me off guard LOL. Dr. Chen is a great doctor! She's very nice and informative. She lets you know how well your eyes are doing and what to watch out for as well as recommendation moving forward. I made a great choice coming here and looking forward to my next visit with them. read more

After being so upset for having my order messed up right before I left for a work trip . I came back to the store wanting to ask for my money back and not even wanting to deal with them due to the mix up. However, as soon as I came, Yee was so accommodating, professional and took accountability for someone else's mistake ( she wasn't the one that messed up my order , someone else did - I wish I knew her name ) . I really respect that as a consumer . She wasn't trying to make excuses she solved the problem right away. Made sure I still had corrective lenses before I left for my trip and then some. Yee was so gracious throughout the whole ordeal, I really had a change of heart . I definitely recommend going here only if Yee is here . read more

Great selection of frames and brand. They even carry Alain Miki! We were just in there selecting sunglasses and the sales person was nice. We went back and forth and she had to re-open the cases again and again, but she didn't complain at all. She also made some recommendations and showed us different brands that I might be interested in. I ended up with a pair of Alain Miki sunglasses. They even gave us a discount. This review is long overdue. My family and have been going to this optometry for several years now. All injav to say is positive things about the service and quality they provide to their customers. Although, we would like to point out that we always ask for Emilee when we come to this place. She is very professional and friendly. She delivers great customer service and since we've know her for so long, we consider her a friend. She knows our taste in brands when it comes to choosing glasses or sunglasses. I am so thankful I found Golden Vision clinic! My son was experiencing high myopia prescription. His vision kept changing. Within 6 months of time, his vision jumped from 1.25 to 6.00. I had brought him in for Ortho-K treatment before when his vision prescription was 3.00 but he was so so freak out and didn't want to do it. And, I did not try hard to keep it going. I choose to give up! Months later I was told by the teacher at school, she urged me to have my son eye vision rechecked. The teacher said" I often catch him squints or partially closes the eyelids in the class." So I made an appointment with the doctor at Golden Vision again for Ortho-K treatment. I was so regret because I did not persist on my decision!!!!! His vision was up again. It broke my heart. My son was 7 years old and his myopia prescription was 7.00(700). With high myopia prescription Ortho-K is not an option! It's because Golden Vision, the doctors and their experiences and expertise. They are able to treat it. The staff, especially Yvonne, Branda and Grace, are so patience and super nice and the doctors too. They had help my son overcome the fear of wearing lenses. In the beginning, I had to come to the clinic everyday before they close because I could not put the lenses on for my son. He was crying and freak out every night and I was having a very very hard time. It took my son 2 months to feel comfortable. Now my son's prescription stays almost the same with Ortho-K treatment. It's a big relieve for mel!!!!!! Here, I truely appriciate everything the doctor and staff have done/help my son with the Ortho-K treatment. The doctors, especailly Dr. Wu and Dr. Wen, are precisely and patiently exam everytime with follow-ups or annual renew. Once again thank you very much for all the help!!!! read more
