Thank you to Yelp for another amazing find!! We took our kids to Great Wolf Lodge and of course the food inside there is expensive and not too good!! A cute but small restaurant but luckily we came at a good time and they were able to seat our party if 10 immediately. Super authentic food, flavorful and tasty. Tom Yum soup is a must try, their corn cakes were so amazing!!! We also ordered red curry, pad Thai, pad see ew, fried rice, Thai omelette with ground pork, chicken wings, and their fried tofu. EVERYTHING was good. My favorite part of the whole entire dinner was dessert! They had these churros with a coconut Pandan dipping sauce and OMG I am still dreaming about it. It's like a Pandan pudding, and not only did I dip all my churros in it, I used the left over Pandan dipping sauce for my mango with sticky rice. I HIGHLY recommend you trying it!!!! The papaya salad was way too sweet. The BBQ chicken was dry it tasted like it had just been reheated in the oven. I'm not sure if it was just a bad day or because I ordered pretty late (around 7 p.m.). I order from this place often, especially the Yum Khor Moo Yang, which is usually my favorite. It does taste good, but the portion size is disappointing about 70% of it is cabbage and vegetables. (And i understand that vegetables is part of this menu but please PLEASE add more pork. yall literally tryna make it look like there's a lot but it's JUST veggies smh). For $17, it's NOT WORTH IT at all, especially after delivery fees and taxes. They really need to increase the portions for some of their menu items. Speaking from Thai person myself so no IT'S NOT BECAUSE I'M NOT USED TO THE TASTE AND THE PORTION FOR YUM MOO YANG IS CRAZYYY I'M NOT EVEN FULL AFTER I FINISHED THE WHOLE THING. Many years ago, a Thai-Chinese couple moved into the town where I lived and they opened a Thai take out restaurant. They had many interesting items on the menu, but I really liked the Pad Prik khing , which is what I ordered tonight through DoorDash. Back then, they made the food what I call "melt-your-ears" spicy. I ordered this one "Hot", which seemed to be the 4th most spicy. I also ordered a Thai iced coffee because it's been a while since I've had more than DeeDee's coffee packets. I also ordered steamed rice. Prik Khing is a dish that I expect to be simple and delicious. I ordered vegetarian because I need more protein and less meat. This one was very colorful. It wasn't spicy, for me, anyway. It had a good taste and I think I'll eat it with beef next time, and ask for something more spicy. Perhaps, I'll go into the restaurant. The Sticky RIce was not easy to eat and I ended up throwing out most of it. It was fairly expensive for the little, hard scoop. The iced coffee was worth it and made me smile. I need to go to the restaurant and try the Tom Yum soup and more. There are very few real Thai restaurants in the area, so this one is useful and the food is good. read more

Both dishes had an amazing flavor, good amounts of meat, and the spice level was crazily good. I would not recommend hot for those who can't tolerate high amounts of heat. This place gets really busy and packed and it's well deserved because all of the food is so delicious!! Have not tried anything I haven't liked from here. All friendly service every time. My favorite is the fried fish and crack sauce!! Sometimes a few pieces taste kinda really gamey and off, but I will usually not eat those pieces. You are craving some type food and we seen this one get a lot of good reviews. It is located in a strip mall and it's a tiny spot that doesn't look like much from the parking lot. Once you enter it's a small little restaurant that feels very welcoming. We were greeted right away and sat. I think we got there at a perfect time because as we were leaving there was a line waiting to be seated. We looked over the menu and everything looked good so we ordered several dishes just for the two of us lol. I must say, everything was so good and flavorful. I love everything we ordered. The portions were great for the price. The pineapple rice was so good. It had a sweet yet salty flavor that balance so well. The pork and veggies were so flavorful and tender. Amazing food with authentic favors! Great ambiance too! My family and I came here after spending a day at the great wolf lodge. I appreciated that there was a good cultural eating spot in the manteca area. We ordered our food to go because it was getting late but when we actually got to enjoy our order it was amazing! The curry has a really nice round flavor and our noodle dis was devoured by the kids lol. One of the things that I thought was a nice touch was that they did a great job of turning a less than awesome strip mall spot into a visual treat. There were nice cultural touches and layed out as well as it could be from an ergonomic perspective. Restaurant at a Plaza so parking can be a little tight. Plaza is a little run down building so in need of a face lift. Inside the restaurant is cozy, stylish decorative vibe scenery. Seating can be limited so reservations can be made. Service was okay but we did at 4:00 when they open so it did get busy. We are happy that this restaurant survived since its opening last year! This is one of our favorite restaurants when we come to Manteca. This time some of the things we ordered were: papaya salad, yellow curry with tofu, crab fried rice, sautéed veggies, duck. It's not horrible but not up to par with other Thai restaurants. First time I came in I had the Thai rice noodle soup. Similar to Cambodian noodle soup, the soup should've been a star. The broth is what makes it different from Vietnamese Pho. It was extremely bland, plus the ground pork was all mushed up together. Today, I had their special, pigs ear with fish sauce and steamed rice during a busy lunch rush. Portion was small for a $15 plate of pigs ear that I could've gotten more for $7 at a local Asian store. I know it was braised and it probably took awhile, but It just felts sticky and placed in a microwave. All in all, I would come back and try other dishes and give it another try. The food at Golden Spoon is really good. Definitely the most authentic Thai food in the area. I've been here twice, and everything has been really tasty. My favorite dishes have been the pad kra pow and the ginger whole fish. The food has good flavor, and the meat in the dishes is tender. The first time I came here, I asked for every to be made "mild". Their "mild" was really spicy for me. I had to chug 4 glasses of water just so my mouth wasn't on fire. The next time I asked for everything to be made not spicy, and it was fine. Be warned if you don't have a high spice tolerance. The one thing that needs improvement is their service. It seems like a family owned and run restaurant. For how busy the restaurant is, they need more help. It took 45 mins-1 hour after ordering to receive all of our food. COCKROACH CLIMBING UP THE WALL AND THE DRAPES FELL ON US. When my party left the restaurant, all we could say was wtf. The food was decent, but VERY concerning health standards and customer service. For one, we literally jumped at the sight of a cockroach climbing up the wall next to our seating at the front of the restaurant. The front desk person noticed our concern and didn't offer to move us or deal with the matter to any concern. Secondly, towards the end of our dinner the drapes suspended by metal poles suddenly fell onto us, hitting one of our friends in the head. AGAIN the front desk person barely did anything! They noticed the drapes and supports fell on us, came to our table, asked if we were okay, and then promptly left, just leaning the drape system back up against the wall, nothing holding it there or anything. This is bound to fall again and should be dealt with! It is so dangerous and unnecessarily putting risk to customers. Lastly after all this, they still charged us the entire bill. No apologies, no deduction in the bill, nothing. As if everything that just happened to us was normal. I will never come here again, this experience was a disaster! read more

I really enjoyed my experience going to Golden Spoon on Manteca. I would dare say this is probably the best Thai restaurant you can get in the area. What I like the most is how friendly and personable the waitress there is and this place always provides the best service. Golden Spoon isn't the biggest on the inside, but it's still pretty comfortable. Recently I ordered the Pineapple Fried Rice ($21) with no raisins because I hate raisins, Green Curry with Seafood ($21), Crying Tiger ($17), and Thai Iced Tea ($4). The Thai Iced too is good, but not gonna lie a little too sweet like imagine you go to a boba shop and you ask for extra sweet or 125% for your Thai Iced Tea thats basically how it is, but some people love that. Just not for me, but still you can taste the thai tea flavor. Regardless that doesn't dock much for me because I was there for their food and they do that really well. The Crying Tiger was an appetizer dish that I enjoyed. It's grilled ribeye with rice powder chili sauce and it was really tender and well seasoned. I would recommend it. The Pineapple Fried Rice is soooo good. Presentation wise it's pretty nice and the portion is gigantic. It has a great balance of cashews, pineapples, and prawns. The Green Curry with Seafood is also pretty good. I really like coconut green curry and the ingrediants are pretty standard, but they do everything pretty well with this dish. The seafood is also very fresh. I'm not always in Manteca, but if I need some good Thai food and great service then Golden Spoon is the go-to option. read more
