Very interesting to say the least. It's a quasi karaoke / watering hole/ restaurant. The host brought the four of us into a huge private room. When I say huge, I mean like twelve people could've joined us at one table. The soft bench like stools were low so you feel like a little kid eating at the grownup table. The food was questionable.... I wasn't sure if they were running out of food or something. The dishes just seemed to be sparse. My box of meat and vegetables looked half eaten. Sometimes it's worth to be curious! We were checking out the new Banchan place where Oahu Vet Clinic is when I noticed a giant yellow pig sign next to District. There was no distinct name so I went inside to ask about it and they're called Golden Pig! It's a new Korean/Japanese Karaoke Bar but plot twist, they serve 7 course meals here. It was their soft opening but I believe grand opening is next week Wednesday? We took a chance and got seated in a fancy karaoke room. We both decided to order their Steamed Pork Rolls Course. The portions may look small but as each course came out, my belly was getting more full so all in all, I think it was a decent amount of food! Our fave was obviously the Pork Rolls themselves; it comes with three different kinds of dipping sauce (Korean soy sauce, Ponzu w/ Daikon, and Truffle Oil Mayo- the last two were my fave to dip in) It's such a different concept, at least in Hawaii. I've always seen pictures of this dish in Japan/Korea so I'm glad we could finally try it out. I'm not entirely sure what the karaoke prices are just yet but I do know that after 8 PM, you get 1 hour free of singing your heart out! The managers and server (Mari) were super sweet and genuinely asked our opinions about each dish so that they could make improvements if needed. Exceeded expectations! A reservation here gets you your private dining room! We came for the delicious food, a 7 course meal that was as fun as delicious. It's really a place for a group and merry making but we came 2 people for an early dinner. While it felt a little illicit when we sat, we had a fantastic time. The food is light, healthy and many items steamed. Of course the set up is karaoke, so bring a few of your crazy friends and book your private dinner here. Entering the establishment, the greeter leads you to your privatd room, decked out with your dedicated kareoke system. Your cutlery is gold-plated (soo bougie!). The food is a unique 7-course meal, which includes shrimp omelette, salad, stuffed mushroom, soup, purple rice, assortment of dipping sauce. The main is this wooden box: comes with meat, vegetables. We got the the steamed pork. Dessert: an acai bowl with a slender long gold spoon, with honey drizzled underneath. A light way to hit the spot. Didn't checked out their restroom yet. Very pleasant atmosphere - perfect for groups. Our room could fit 9-10 people and was very clean. The restraint is located in the complex next to the Ala Moana Mall with private ample parking. We came here during the special promo time, $1 wine bottle/table until 12/31/23. We ordered a 2nd bottle for our party (at menu price). Our server Mari was nice and professional. We liked the flexibility of being able to mix and share our main dishes (different prices) instead of everyone sharing the same menu. We all opted for the 7 courses, and everything tasted very good! Food: The food looked appetizing and I liked it. However, I will say that the portion is really small. Because of that, my friends and I didn't feel full after eating the course (7 dishes). Environment: Nice and relaxing. There is a karaoke room with a booth type of seating. You can do karaoke while eating! The machine is a little hard to use if you don't know Korean, but our server explained to us how to use it and we got it afterwards Service: 5/5 The servers were very friendly and helped us with what we needed :) Overall, I did enjoy coming here with my friends for the experience. The environment was nice for chatting. For the price though, I do wish there was more food to fill us. If I could give no stars, I would! This was the worst fine dinning experience ever! Can I even call it fine dinning or a restaurant? The staffs and manager clearly have no experience in restaurant services because everything was so unorganized from the first greeting to ending. No one ever checked up on us and we would go outside each time to call someone. My friends and I had to suffer three hours long until we finished the whole course, which we had to rush because it was taking way too long. Every dish that was served to us was underwhelming! For the price that we are paying for I expected more! All the steamed dish that was served was not seasoned and you can definitely make this at home. As for the final course, was mochi ice cream that was stored bought with four tiny pieces of sliced strawberries. And for the cost of it, it was a very sad and terrible experience over all. The restaurant or bar felt very unsanitary, especially with the smell of cigarettes. I even saw that they placed the dessert serving cart by the bathroom, and that was disgusting. We did made a complaint and they compted one of the dish for us. But I would never recommend this place to anyone, it's like children playing house. So sad! read more

Disappointing 3 hour experience. After seeing all the positive reviews on social media & banners advertising this "fine dining" experience, we had high hopes. We made a reservation 2 weeks in advance & made sure they could host our larger group and accommodate a non-meat eater in our party, both of which they said they could do. When we arrived, we were seated, but never received menus & had find a server to request. They were out of numerous things; steamed pork, steamed beef, soft drinks, terra beer, etc. We kept it simple and did the same $60 rolled pork option for all 8 guests, plus 1 veggie. This is when everything started to go downhill... It was clear the staff were unprepared. We waited 1 hour for our first course to arrive & nearly 20 more minutes for our second course. During these large breaks, no one checked in on us. We had to physically leave our room multiple times to find servers & get basics things like chopsticks and drink refills. At the 2 hour mark, the entree courses finally began to show up. Despite all dishes being same, they arrived sporadically over 30 min. In the midst of bringing entrees, they attempted to bring out dessert before everyone had even received their main course. The veggie entree was one of the last to arrive. A random assortment of steamed edamame, bean sprouts, a piece of corn, sweet potato.... Disappointing, since they were given 2 weeks notice of this request. I appreciate their attempt to accommodate, but not worth the $40 they charged us for it. At hour 3 we finally got our dessert. A mochi covered ice cream bite. We asked what the flavor was & unsurprisingly, they had no clue. Management was apologetic and did comp us for 2 of the dishes, but it did not make up for the poor service, delays & subpar overpriced food. read more

Opened for only 1 month now and offering a Groupon deal - Romantic dinner for 2 for $90 for a 7-course amazing dinner + free karaoke! A fun and delicious experience. I would go back again at regular price! Each course was a delight to the eyes and taste buds! We were a party of 4 and they graciously allowed us to use 2 Groupons. The 7 course dinner also came with 3 amazing sauces (a shoyu based, a ponzu based and my favorite a truffle based) + healthy multi grain rice and a fantastic spicy korean broth with daikon. The dessert was a refreshing acai sherbert with fresh fruits dressed with drizzles of sweet condensed milk. Their karaoke system and song selections were great and so fun to enjoy after our meal. My friend and I happened to find this restaurant by chance when we went to the banchan store nearby and we were so happy we tried it because the food was delicious! They gave us a nice private room with free karaoke for 1 hour and we ordered the 7 course meal with the pork rolls as our main dish. We went during their soft opening so they were very attentive and made sure we were having a good time and asked for our honest opinion on the food. Our server Mari was very helpful and friendly! We felt kind of out of place because we were wearing exercise clothes and the private room was artfully decorated with classical music playing outside, but it's a very hidden hole in the wall restaurant so I didn't feel too uncomfortable. Had a company party here that was all set weeks in advance. Came in and so many things were all sold out. The pork set. Sprite. Terra beer. We had a reservation at 830. Our first dish which was the salad came out an hour later. Super slow service we had to keep calling them asking them where is everything. They never once came in to check up on us on their own. For the price and what you it's totally not worth it. By the time all the courses came out the whole process was 3 hrs. Also super unsanitary the dessert cart was left right outside the bathroom door which was super gross. When I walked outside overheard the next room also complaining about service. The food here is served in courses and you select your main - very tasty dishes with our favorites being the pancake and steamed pork entree. The owner served us, who was really kind, and shared about his concept for this restaurant, making our experience enjoyable. It was a bit busy tonight so the courses did take a while between dishes. I was invited to come try out the place from one of the workers. I brought my family and we had a fun time. It's a bit hard to find but they are right by district by the stairs leading to the upstairs. The employees were very welcoming and nice. They walked us through the menu and explained the dishes.
