Mauka side of Alamoana SC Same building of Republic. Each room has Karaoke machine. 1 hour free karaoke. Nice service begging to the end. Each meal is good taste. Since it's karaoke room, we are so relax to having conversations. Value, quantity, service, we will come back. Thank you

Where kareoke meets bougie! Hidden in the streets of Ala Moana, Golden Pig gives a dining & social experience like no other! Don't let the outside fool you. Entering the establishment, the greeter leads you to your privatd room, decked out with your dedicated kareoke system. Your cutlery is gold-plated (soo bougie!). The food is a unique 7-course meal, which includes shrimp omelette, salad, stuffed mushroom, soup, purple rice, assortment of dipping sauce. The main is this wooden box: comes with meat, vegetables. We got the the steamed pork. Dessert: an acai bowl with a slender long gold spoon, with honey drizzled underneath. A light way to hit the spot. Didn't checked out their restroom yet. I will on the way out. Overall the experience is worthwhile. Go with a group of friends or a party. Will look to see if this is date worthy soon

Extremely nice staff. Food was delicious and healthy since they were mostly steamed instead of fried. We were a little confused about the menu at first. The meal is 7 courses. You pick the main dish. The price of the meal is determined by the main dish selected. The seating is private karaoke rooms but you don't have to sing.

New restaurant. 7 course meal. Everyone will need to order a main dish. This seems like alot of food but the dishes are tiny. That's the fine dining feel. And there's fine dining music, very classical. The dishes are very clean tasting. Plating is nice. My favorite are the gold utensils. I'm not a fan of the table. It's too low. I'm a bit confused. Is it karaoke bar or fine dining. Yes, there is a karaoke machine in here. The one annoying thing tonight is the smell of cigarettes. It filled up the room and it wasn't the best experience. Service is okay.

Our own private room, delicious food, amazingly friendly staff, clean rooms, and soft piano music in the background. The manager took the time to make sure everything was perfect, from the placemats to the plating of the delicious food. Affordable 7 course meal with a touch of class! Our group was definitely pleased. I forgot to mention- free karaoke for 1 hour! Perfect pairing with some wine and soju!!

Very pleasant atmosphere - perfect for groups. Our room could fit 9-10 people and was very clean. The restraint is located in the complex next to the Ala Moana Mall with private ample parking. We came here during the special promo time, $1 wine bottle/table until 12/31/23. We ordered a 2nd bottle for our party (at menu price). Our server Mari was nice and professional. We liked the flexibility of being able to mix and share our main dishes (different prices) instead of everyone sharing the same menu. We all opted for the 7 courses, and everything tasted very good! I would highly recommend this place and would come back.

A look at their different steamed boxes. Ranging from pork rolls, seafood box and Yakiniku style pork rolls.

Golden Pig is a new restaurant on Kapiolani (next to District Nightclub) that specializes in Steamed Box entrees. There is no dining room here, every seat is in a private room for 2-8 people. There is also karaoke in each room. This restaurant has already landed in my Top 10 new restaurant openings in 2023. It's good and a 5 course dinner starts at $39.99. . Free karaoke after 8pm for one hour with your dinner reservation. Additional hour can be purchased at $40/hr.

Food: The food looked appetizing and I liked it. However, I will say that the portion is really small. Because of that, my friends and I didn't feel full after eating the course (7 dishes). Environment: Nice and relaxing. There is a karaoke room with a booth type of seating. You can do karaoke while eating! The machine is a little hard to use if you don't know Korean, but our server explained to us how to use it and we got it afterwards Service: 5/5 The servers were very friendly and helped us with what we needed :) Overall, I did enjoy coming here with my friends for the experience. The environment was nice for chatting. For the price though, I do wish there was more food to fill us. Since they recently opened, they may still be figuring things out and probably need time to get things in place. Still, I'd say this place is worth a try!

If I could give no stars, I would! This was the worst fine dinning experience ever! Can I even call it fine dinning or a restaurant? The staffs and manager clearly have no experience in restaurant services because everything was so unorganized from the first greeting to ending. No one ever checked up on us and we would go outside each time to call someone. My friends and I had to suffer three hours long until we finished the whole course, which we had to rush because it was taking way too long. Every dish that was served to us was underwhelming! For the price that we are paying for I expected more! All the steamed dish that was served was not seasoned and you can definitely make this at home. As for the final course, was mochi ice cream that was stored bought with four tiny pieces of sliced strawberries. And for the cost of it, it was a very sad and terrible experience over all. The restaurant or bar felt very unsanitary, especially with the smell of cigarettes. I even saw that they placed the dessert serving cart by the bathroom, and that was disgusting. We did made a complaint and they compted one of the dish for us. But I would never recommend this place to anyone, it's like children playing house. So sad!

$40 veggie entree they made to accommodate a non-meat eater
    Jay C.

Disappointing 3 hour experience. After seeing all the positive reviews on social media & banners advertising this "fine dining" experience, we had high hopes. We made a reservation 2 weeks in advance & made sure they could host our larger group and accommodate a non-meat eater in our party, both of which they said they could do. When we arrived, we were seated, but never received menus & had find a server to request. They were out of numerous things; steamed pork, steamed beef, soft drinks, terra beer, etc. We kept it simple and did the same $60 rolled pork option for all 8 guests, plus 1 veggie. This is when everything started to go downhill... It was clear the staff were unprepared. We waited 1 hour for our first course to arrive & nearly 20 more minutes for our second course. During these large breaks, no one checked in on us. We had to physically leave our room multiple times to find servers & get basics things like chopsticks and drink refills. At the 2 hour mark, the entree courses finally began to show up. Despite all dishes being same, they arrived sporadically over 30 min. In the midst of bringing entrees, they attempted to bring out dessert before everyone had even received their main course. The veggie entree was one of the last to arrive. A random assortment of steamed edamame, bean sprouts, a piece of corn, sweet potato.... Disappointing, since they were given 2 weeks notice of this request. I appreciate their attempt to accommodate, but not worth the $40 they charged us for it. At hour 3 we finally got our dessert. A mochi covered ice cream bite. We asked what the flavor was & unsurprisingly, they had no clue. Management was apologetic and did comp us for 2 of the dishes, but it did not make up for the poor service, delays & subpar overpriced food.

And how do I know that it's fresh? Because as we were at the restaurant, deliveries were being delivered nonstop. My kids devoured the salmon bowl with the salmon roe. My 8 year old's bowl was wiped clean. My 7 year old had only 2 slices of salmon and a few ikuras left. The 5 year old polished off her few pieces of salmon and roe along with her miso soup. And momma's Fukuju? Absolutely demolished. I should have ordered it with extra ikura because the quality and flavor that it provided to the bowl was something that I've never had before. I am usually not a fan of ikura, finding it too salty, but the ikura at Totoya was perfectly balanced. Second, the service was great. I had to give it to the lovely staff who were able to keep it all together when a party of 5 adults and 7 kids (aged between 5 to 11) rolled in, and of course the kids all chose to not sit with their respective parents. The food came fast and kept the peace of very hungry children. The place itself is a small little restaurant with just bar seating, no more than 16 seats, so definitely cozy. My friend sitting all the way on the other side of the bar said she could hear my conversation perfectly well, even though all the kids were loudly chatting. We will definitely be back the next time we make it out to Honolulu. Thanks to the restaurant again for providing such a memorable meal. It was all I could think about on the flight home because it was that good.

Even with a decent amount of seating, there is minimal space so they ask that you leave your strollers outside. When we called the first time saying our daughter was asleep they arranged everything in order to fit the stroller inside. The second visit, I had an even bigger stroller because it was a double stroller for my daughter and son. When I said my son was asleep they again, quickly tried to arrange space for the stroller until we realized he woke up. I truly appreciate them being so welcoming because I've come across many establishments that are not especially towards kids. As for the food, the first time the tonkatsu was a miss for me. I was comparing it to a popular spot on the island that books out months in advance that I tried just before my first visit here and it just seemed a lot more oily and not as tender. We were actually going to eat at the other business again but with two kids and walking non stop on our trip already, I was so happy we had an option closer to us. Both times, we were coming from Hilton Hawaiian Village. They have the cutest car bento boxes for the kids, and they let you choose the car color. My daughter loved the mini umbrella that came with her plate. My son was days before turning 1 year old so a lot of things ended up on the floor and even then, they were so kind about it. The best thing though for my husband and I AND my son, was the loco moco which we were told was limited and a new item for dinner since it was primarily only served as a lunch option? The flavor of the gravy alone was sooo good and rich. My son ended up eating my whole portion of rice and gravy with no crumbs left behind or on the floor lol. The other katsu items we ordered were nice and lightly coated and were not heavily oily at all. The only thing that I felt lacked was their curry especially in comparison to their gravy. I would definitely recommend coming here and I can't wait to come back. That was one of our favorite new dishes this trip and we come every year!

I got the pork loin with shrimp combo (the mixed portion instead of the large), and everything was perfectly crispy, flavorful, and satisfying without feeling too heavy. One of my favorite parts was grinding the sesame seeds myself in the little ceramic bowl with the wooden grinder, then mixing in the tonkatsu sauce. It made the whole meal feel interactive and intentional, and the sauce was SO good on the pork loin. I also ended up getting a refill of the cabbage because the sesame dressing they served with it was honestly addictive. I went around 8 PM to avoid the dinner rush and was pleasantly surprised I got a table pretty easily. Taking my time with the smaller mixed portion made the whole experience feel relaxed and enjoyable instead of rushed. Overall, really delicious food, great atmosphere, and one of my favorite meals I've had in Waikiki so far. Pictured are the before and after of my dish. Probably a better "go with friends place" than a date.

All the fish were from Japan and yes you can taste the difference. The fatty tuna was obviously my favorite but even the regular tuna and the hamachi was so buttery, it just melts in your mouth. Plus, it comes with real wasabi. Not horseradish, real wasabi. For the cooked dishes we got the hokkaido crab tempura with a side of matcha salt. One of the best tempuras I've ever had.
