Buffet options
Jean S.

Golden Koi Buffet is an all you can eat restaurant with a large variety of Asian food, including lots of seafood such as crab, oysters, salmon and tuna sashimi, Cajun seafood boil, clams, mussels, plus lot of Chinese hot food options. There's also a soft serve machine, ice cream, desserts, salads, soups, and a grill station for steaks, oysters, and other raw meats. We came on a Saturday for lunch and there was no wait for a table. I enjoyed the crab legs, cooked oysters, and sashimi. For dessert, the mango jello was pretty good. I also had some fresh fruit including lychee. For adults, the price was $25 for dinner, weekends, and holidays. Lunch on the weekdays is about $16. Drinks are extra. Since it's a buffet, I wouldn't say the quality was the best, but it was still enjoyable. My stomach disagreed with something I ate, but wasn't sure what it was since nothing tasted bad. The restaurant was a little sticky and the ambiance was average. Service was okay, not too attentive.

Crab legs
Bryan L.

If you were looking to eat crab legs, I will say this place is a steal, for $25 a person you can eat as much Alaskan crab legs, that your stomach desires. There are plenty of food options here I wouldn't say everything is top quality but for $25 including all you can eat crab I think that's a great bargain. They don't have a lot coming out all at once so you may have to wait or come back to see if it's been replenished. They do have sushi here, but I'll be quite honest, not the greatest quality . Plenty of Chinese food options from calms , oysters, fried fish , beef broccoli, honey walnut shrimp, basically if panda express has it you can get it here. Most of the Asian food is mediocre as I would still choose panda express if I had the option. Service is friendly, definitely a more upscale looking Asian buffet than most I have been to. They even allow customers to purchase a to go box. I would come back here just for the crabs since I can't find anywhere else in the Sacramento area that offers crab legs besides the hard rock Casino, but that's twice the price of here.

Dried out dessert.

I'm sorry but this place needs a visit from Chef Ramsay!!! The food was extremely cold and old. The service was okay. The price for the horrible old dry food was way too much and not worth it. I will never come back nor would I ever recommend anyone else to eat here. I would share photos of the food but they may not like it. Save your money!! Don't get me wrong, I would totally pay this for a fresh and hot buffet.

Nice roast duck better than last time!
Robbie R.

Golden Koi Buffet has usually been one of my most fave buffets when I'm down here in the Roseville area. But last time I was quite disappointed with the roast duck that was supposed to be included with the buffet at no extra cost. The rest of the foods like the wings and ribs were still fab. But I decided to give the place another try, since I'm down here on a work location with my crew, and I know one way to keep everybody happy is a buffet where everyone can just choose what they wanna eat. Well, OK, I just had to check out the duck and it was way better than it was last time. The dish at the buffet was all nicely put together and not all wrecked like last time. I was able to get a bunch of nice pieces to eat. Plus I loaded up on ribs. They have the best dang pork ribs here with a wonderful barbeque sauce. The service was the same efficient plate clearers, not much talk from them. The crew was happy so I'm happy, paid the bill and I've restored my faith on Golden Koi Buffet here on Roseville, "I'll be back", as our former governor says!

Crab, steamed fish and crawfish
May W.

Came to Golden Koi for Christmas lunch with family and loved the variety of food for their Christmas feast buffet. It was $28.99 for adults, but $25.99 for seniors. They had whole steamed fish, crab, raw oysters, sushi, dim sum, soup, and variety of desserts. The sashimi was delicious, especially the salmon and white tuna. The oysters were humongous and the steamed fish was good but had little bones. Service was pretty attentive and they cleared our plates often.

Heaven for seafood lover. They have other other food as well but their crabs and crawfish are generously served. Space is great, not too crowded but I recommend come earlier than regular mealtime.

Shrimp, crawfish, sushi
Diana s.

great service and great food. Large selection of food to choose from. There is a new ramen section that's pretty amazing as well.

Been here a few times and it's always been pretty standard food and service. Recently they've added on a ramen station next to the Mongolian bbq and sushi bar. The sushi didn't taste fresh, like it's been sitting out for too long as the rice is quite hard. And the salmon could've been better cut vs random shapes and size. My personal favorite selection has to be the huge prawns and oysters. Considering that the price is $29.99 on Saturday, those food selection made up for it! Our total for 3 people came out to be $106.61 including tax, that's for 3 adults with sodas.

Went for lunch and they had a great selection. I would recommend going early cause we went around 2 and things weren't as fresh looking as they could have been.

I haven't eaten here for a very long time since there are other Chinese buffets that has better sushi available. The buffet selection has changed up for the better. The ramen station is a much welcomed addition to the live cooking area. It's actually decent for a buffet style ramen. They also added vermicelli scallops and roasted duck. The scallops are worth mentioning because they took the time to season it properly with soy sauce, sesame oil and green onions. The duck, on the other hand, was bland and lacked the traditional Chinese 5 spice flavors on the meat. Gone are the salt and pepper blue crabs and the soft serve ice cream machine was replaced with those parfait cups like all the other Chinese buffets. The sushi looks better, but there's no real fish on any of them. They did have eel nigiris but i didn't try any. Unfortunately most dishes I ate were cold like the crawdads, scallops and salt and pepper shrimp. The service here is good, at least they're mindful if your drink gets low. The negatives aren't a deal breaker and I welcome the addition of the ramen bar and scallops. The cost is 19.00 without tax, so it's on the higher side as far as Chinese buffets go. I'm glad this place is still around and they are evolving. The new and improved menu isn't enough for me to frequent them, but at least it's an option if I don't feel like driving to Citrus Heights.

Variety of pastries

Went here for lunch on Christmas Eve. It's your typical Chinese food buffet. Nothing fancy. No frills. It does the job. The wings were great. Very juicy and tender and crispy. I would probably go back and order those separately. For $16, I left feeling very full. Not bad for lunch.

It was mostly noodles and the sauce wasn't very flavorful at all, mostly because it was almost non-existent. One extra star because the noodles were cooked properly. They would have been even better if they had been cooked Hong Kong style. But the menu didn't say that so no points off for that. There was a lack of heart and inspiration in these dishes. We doctored both dishes with sauces.
