I requested a one-time deep move out house cleaning service for a three-bedroom with one bathroom. The cleaning included move-out deep cleaning, window cleaning (interior), fridge cleaning, oven cleaning, baseboard cleaning, and interior cabinet cleaning.
They didn't do a thorough deep clean at all! In fact, they only wiped down surfaces. After they said the job was complete, I checked the fridge and found that the holding compartments and the part that holds the shelving in place were still dirty. They had only sprayed and wiped the visible surfaces. The stove was even worse. They didn't even move the stove or fridge or washer to get behind or underneath. I moved it out and cleaned the back of the fridge while they were there to show them how to do so. They didn't even lift up the top of the stove to wipe up underneath. The windows they partially vacuumed, but they didn't clean them at all. The vacuuming was adequate, though. The bathroom was okay, but that's where the job ended.
When I was asked for payment, I explained to the owner or supervisor who had called to check on the job that it was poorly done. He instructed them to return, and it was clear that they weren't experienced cleaners because they repeated the same mistakes. They just wiped stuff, maybe sprayed a solution on it, and then wiped it down. They even lied to the owner or manager, claiming that the appliances were rusted and old. They weren't old or rusted at all! They did have grease buildup, but they didn't touch the cabinets. They did mop the floor, but I had specifically asked for a deep move-out clean, not daily cleaning. I was so frustrated that when they said they were finished I checked over the work and again the same unfinished work. I even gave them an Brillo cleaner to wash the stove. They still just sprayed and wiped and said it's not coming off. So I just said leave. It was clear to me that they were just there to waste time.
After they left, I had to turn around and clean the stove and refrigerator myself. I did and even sent videos of myself cleaning the stove and cabinets to show the owner what a proper deep clean looks like. I just sprayed grease remover "easy off" which I had to go to the store and buy and it came right off, which tells me that they didn't have the proper cleaning supplies for a deep clean. From the look of it, they weren't experienced cleaners at all. And It looked like the solutions they used were watered down.
They offered a discount of $80, but that wasn't a discount because they didn't deliver on the job that was quoted. They charged me extra for additional services. In return, I had to go out and buy cleaning supplies for $40, and I ended up spending 3.5 hours cleaning the stove, refrigerator, the windows and cabinets after they left. I paid the $200 fee to avoid any potential conflicts or legal issues, but made sure I would inform about the poor quality of the work and the excessive charges they are making for inadequate services. read more
