Absolutely an awful experience. The smell in the area of our booth was unsettling. We were totally ignored for 15 minutes. I had to flag down someone in uniform who pretended they didn't understand English. The manager took our order and it was purely down hill. The food was good, but waiting an hour is ridiculous. No one ever apologized, they actually over charged us for items we never ordered, and that took another half hour to correct. By far the worst experience I have ever had at Foxwoods. I was told this was a family friendly restaurant. They had ONE high chair for the entire place. I should have just left after they took twenty minutes to come back and tell me they only had ONE high chair, but I already invested the time and my girls and I were hungry. We put our order in and our food came. This was the blandest Chinese food I have ever tasted. The server did not come back at all to fill up waters, ask if we needed anything, nothing. I could understand if it was busy possibly but she only had two other tables besides ours. Avoid this place at all cost and go to some of the other amazing restaurants Foxwoods has to offer. read more

For gourmet Chinese food prices I got a plate of chicken lo mein that resembled earthworms and maggots and a Mongolian beef that was devoid of all flavor and spice served on a lovely bed of styrofoam noodles. Usually when I order an entree that comes with white rice I leave it, but in this case it was the best part of the meal. I don't understand how this restaurant warrants poor reviews. We find the Golden Dragon superior to many other Chinese Restaurants. Never had a bad selection.....and we look forward to dining here with family and friends, whenever in Foxwoods Casino, which is a little too often. :-) However, this past. Saturday evening, my husband and I ordered an appetizer each and an entree. We were shocked when our order came at the same time. Needless to say, there was no way, that both could be consumed without one cooling off. We were reluctant to return to kitchen for reheating. This dining experience was truly ruined. Usually, we are lucky to have an experienced waiter, knowing to serve appropriately. We commented to the staff, that they need to train some of the inexperienced waiters. Dumplings were fine, but the soup (that the waiter reccomended) was bland. The little flavor that it did have was very underwhelming. I ate about two bites before I returned it for a plate of lo mein which was equally flavorless and gross. Really nice setting with good service. I enjoyed the pickled dish they served (reminded me of cole slaw but likely not that since it's a Chinese restaurant). The menu is large but didn't include a lot of the standards as this was more than your typical Chinese place. Lots of duck items if you're a fan of duck. Prices were a bit high and the portions weren't huge so you can't necessarily count on bringing left-overs home. I really enjoyed their pork fried rice. Had a less greasy feel than most pork fried rice dishes. The spring rolls were delicious. Not a bad option if you're craving Chinese and want a nicer dining experience. read more

Terrible Experience. Came here with girlfriend and family to celebrate her mom's birthday. We ordered a lot of food. The food was very pricey, not that great, and portions are small. Strike 1: They sat us next to crying baby. Strike 2: Waiter gave attitude when we asked for a round of water. Also he only brought water for half the table and never ended up bringing any for the other half the entire time we were there. Strike 3: We brought our own cake for desert for the birthday party and not only did they not sing happy bday but they refused to let us eat the cake in the restaurant. P.s. Placed a to go order. It took a long time to even just place my order. I ordered lo Mein & dumplings. The lo mein was beyond disappointing. Microwaveable ramen would have been better. Best place to eat after a day of day drinking at the pool. Great selection, although very pricey. Don't expect the top notch service here but you shouldn't anyway. It's a Chinese food restaurant! I'm surprised by the lack of ratings for this place. I think it is excellent, very authentic. Here's a hint...check to see if there are a lot of Chinese people in a Chinese restaurant, and then you'll know whether it is good or not. I came here for lunch with 3 other family members today September 30th and from the beginning of was a rough start. We waited at the front counter for 10 min. No one was there in line and there was only 3 tables in the restaurant. Finally we sit down to order our food. The food runner brought our soup and spring rolls and we asked for soy sauce. 20 min later... no one brought it over. I finally was able to flag a young lady (not our server) down and said "excuse me, may we get some soy sauce" that lady was extremely rude and shooed us away and walked away. Extremely RUDE. Our main course came before we even received our soy sauce. Our waitress herself was nice, but unfortunately for her, the support staff was so rude it overruled her. I explained I didn't like the main course because it was extremely oily and and I didn't eat it but I still had to pay for it. Plus we never got our water refilled. I do not understand the Golden Dragon hate on Yelp. If you're at Foxwoods and feel like a sit-down meal and don't feel like spending a ton of money but you still want decent food it's a go-to place. The key word here being "decent." The Red Lantern is going to give you a much better product than the Golden Dragon but at an exorbitant price. I came here Saturday night with no reservation before going to watch Anthony Bourdain at the Grand Theater and I ate okay Chinese food at a price I could afford. The crab rangoons were a bit overcooked but the duck lo-mein was delicious and there was enough for me and my husband to split. Only issue was when it came time to leave their credit card machine went down and we unexpectedly had to pay cash. I wish I could give them ZERO stars! I was here on Saturday 8/7 and the food was absolutely disgusting! We got the appetizer sample for 25$, no joke it was literally 2 rangoons, 1 chicken drum, 1 chicken flat, 2 spring rolls & a piece of pork thrown on a plate, the spring rolls were dry, the pork was dry it looked like they cooked it weeks ago, the crab Rangoon are only stuffed with cream cheese & the chicken wings, if you want to call them that, tasted freezer burnt so they were definitely frozen for a while & just thrown in a fryer. The Mongolian beef was a joke! There was about 4 pieces of actual beef in it, the whole thing was peppers & onions (the cheapest ingredients) !!! The pork fried rice was really old and hard. The pork in the fried rice was gray,that's how old and dried out it was. Absolutely DO NOT GO HERE!!!! The food is HORRIBLE! It's actually embarrassing that they think it's ok to serve food of that standard! Idk what happened, they used to be the best Chinese food. I will never go here again! What a waste of money, go here if you want nasty, dry, hard, gray & old Chinese food and if you want to waste 120$ because even tho the quality went down the prices are still up! I often come to Foxwoods with my friends for a fun night out. Usually we start with food before hitting the tables and drinks. One night we stumbled upon the Golden Dragon and it exceeded all of our expectations. To start off they give you complimentary tea which is always a delight. The sweet pickle coleslaw they give you is delicious. Every time I come I get the "roast duck noodle soup and it is out of this world! Great service, staff, food, and atmosphere. There is a 20% service charge for parties of more than 8 people. The food here was good but a tad salty. I liked the stir fry eggplants, and crispy crusted shrimp, and the salmon and peas! A wonderful treat! Friendly wait staff and awesome meals. From the Crab Rangoon to the Shrimp with Lobster Sauce, everything was delicious.

I have been to this restaurant in the past and did not have any issues but recently when i went there i saw their true colors. The waiter ( who can speak a little bit of english) was literally screaming at me when i asked her about the price. I was shocked. Her behavior was demeaning and the manager ( not 100% sure if he was the manager or another person working there) also gave me a dirty look as i was leaving this restaurant. They served us the wrong food multiple times and also listed the wrong price in the bill. The food is decent but because of the demeanour of the waiters i am never going back. I am a big dimsum fan so i am better off going to golden chopsticks in westerly they have very good atttitude and friendly people there. read more
