Ordered takeout: Beef & broccoli combo which came with pork fried rice and 1 veggie eggroll. Good flavor on the beef and broccoli but more rice than actual entree. Beef and broccoli cooked well. Eggroll was all veggie and no meat, crispy. Rice needed to be cooked a little more as some bits had a crunch to it. Also had the chicken finger app which was a generous portion. Good meat to batter ratio and would order this again. The red40 sauce was not my taste. They provided fortune cookies and condiments in the bag, no cutlery or napkins. read more

I understand language can be a barrier but you get what you get regardless of how you want your Oder. I even was specific no sauce for in-house eating. I got a dish that coulda been a soup to go... drowning in sauce.... They are the most unhappy continually fighting staff/family I've ever seen. read more

China House - Counter - Szechuan Near Me - Quaker Hill, Connecticut

I wish I could rate this at a 3.5 instead of a 3. I ordered the sampler platter (combo c I think) which had chicken wings, fried shrimp, an egg roll, and fried rice. I also got the wonton soup and an order of sweet and sour chicken. The wonton soup was a solid soup, I ate it for two days and enjoyed it. The fried rice was typical and was very good. I wanted to love the fried shrimp more than I did, the breading was really thick which kind of ruined it for me. I liked the sweet and sour chicken fingers but it wasn't my favorite red sauce. I will definitely try this place again and order what others recommended because it was good. read more

I am VERY PICKY about my food, I eat here about once or twice a month. When I tell you there are no safe Chinese food places in this area except for this place.... I'm not kidding. They are clean, fast, friendly, and the food is on point. I know someone that serviced their refrigeration system and did many other similar restaurants in the area and this is the only place they eat as well. read more

We visited China House on Christmas Day. The restaurant was doing a brisk takeout business but still were able to cater to our party of four as we wanted to dine in. All the food was delicious, the portions were enormous, and when some members of our party wanted hot tea to go with their food, they provided it from their personal supply, as hot tea is not a menu item. This place rocks and we have just started a new Christmas tradition. read more

just move to the area , I have found my new favorite spot ,fresh ingredients, generous portions , highly recommend ! read more

China House is my go to for Chinese fare as of late. Here's some key points for my review... 1.) They are always very busy. 2.) The food has been hot and fresh with attention to details. 3.) They are pleasant to deal with. 4.) (and this sealed the deal!) I like the fact that they have original hot Chinese mustard and hot chili oil/paste available. Most dishes are very good. Keep up the good work China House! read more

Their food is so good, I'd say the best in the New London area for Chinese food. Fast friendly delivery...you will not be disappointed

I had seen on all the local forums that this was a hidden gem in our area for Chinese food. I have to say the food was pretty good, and prices were affordable. I feel that the food was much less greasy than the typical Chinese places we have tried. The service was quick , professional, and made it very easy for order and pick up. I really enjoyed the sesame chicken it had a really good flavor and extra sauce in the bottom of the container. The broccoli was fresh and delicious. I would order again , but not sure I would go out of my way to get.l, if that makes any sense. read more

Best Chinese food around. I drive from Groton because it's better then anything in town. Food is always fresh and delicious.

it was delivered so fast! from ordering to delivery was 16 minutes! this is my fav chinese food place!

I have been ordering at least once a week from China House over the past 2 months. All were delivery orders; all over $30; tips were above average. Unfortunately I have noticed the service and attention to the orders has eroded over time. Last evening's meals were delivered cold. Both combo meals were missing the supposed-to-be included egg roll. The subtotal (exclusive of the tax and delivery fee) of the order amounted to $24.95...5 cents short of the $25 minimum required for the December 2 can soda bonus. The 5 cents (although the add on charges were in excess of $4) would not be waived. The mentioned December bonus has to be requested by the customer...staff never offers the bonus. The bonus (2 canned sodas or 2 egg rolls) is strictly enforced. When asked if the bonus could be amended to 1 soda and 1 egg roll, the "No" would have made Seinfeld's Soup Nazi proud. We're going to give them 1 more try. Hopefully the order will be complete, delivered warm, and I will remember to request the bonus. read more

Nobody does hot and sour soup better. I should know I have eaten it on average once a week for the last 2+ years. So glad you are back open. read more

China House - THE BEST HOT AND SOUR SOUP EVER!!! - Szechuan Near Me - Quaker Hill, Connecticut

China House is a great local takeout option. I get delivery from them often, The food comes quickly and is always nice and hot. The restaurant is owned by a kind family and I am happy to support them. Their chicken and broccoli is my favorite! The lunch specials are a bargain, generous portions including a soup, egg roll or soda. Definitely recommended! read more

Food is really yummy! Delivery always a reasonable time. Love this place! It's a must try.

Always omit mushrooms from Chinese restaurant orders as are thick and slimy (canned?). Forgot to omit when ordering from China House and found thin-sliced, non-slimey mushrooms in my veg fried rice .. wonderful!! Also pea pods not moribund but fresh and lightly cooked, as well as broccoli and other veggies ... fabulous!! We ordered pick-up on Christmas Eve, early, arriving to a customer-packed store front where the kitchen was cook-packed and the register helper-packed! China House handled the abundance of orders, take-out, deliveries, phoned-in and online, with speed and grace. Choreography and linguistics provided pop-up entertainment to ease slight waiting time. We loved our dinner and will be back for more in 2023. Thank you China House! read more

We ordered takeout here the other night- great quality, and flavor. And of course portions! Delivery was quick, and everything arrived hot. Definitely recommended read more

Our GO-TO for takeout, at least once a week when no one wants to cook. Fast, friendly, HOT food & always service w/ a smile :)

Very good! Took a little long for delivery, but the woman acknowledged and apologized, apparently the delivery driver was sick, so she brought it herself! Very kind. Great service!!!! AND hot, great food!! read more

China House - S2. General Tso Chicken - Szechuan Near Me - Quaker Hill, Connecticut

Best Chinese food in New London County. Hands down. The food is consistent and the Sauce base they use for their chicken dishes is To die for. read more

Today we ordered from China House for the first time since our regular Chinese restaurant go-to is closed on Mondays. I'm glad we did! Overall, the food was great, some dishes better than other as is usually the case. The best item was the steamed dumplings. These were tasty and the dough wasn't hard as it can be. The sauce was excellent. The won ton soup was pretty special too. In a large order, there must have been 8 or 10 wontons? They were big and juicy! The roast pork egg rolls were large and crunchy. The general tso's was good but not the best we've had. The fried rice was good. I enjoyed the added bean sprouts and there was plenty of roast pork but it was a little over-cooked (dry) and needed mustard to provide more flavor. By the way, I guess you have to ask for packets of mustard and other sauces. We weren't asked if we wanted any and I always assume it's added to the bag as we're accustomed to. Glad we had a supply! This place is much further away from us but I'm pretty sure we'll make the long trip again soon! read more

Clean environment, friendly staff. The food is always delicious, not greasy like most other Chinese restaurants. The vegetables are fresh. I will only be ordering Chinese food from them from now on. read more

We have been ordering food here for the last 15 years at least once a month. Crab rangoon boneless spare ribs coconut chicken house special rice are the favorites we get every time. Over the years have tried at least every dish they make once. Never had a issue the food is always hot, tastes great and they deliver it fast. The only thing that really really irritates me is the 7.35 % tax and that's not their fault it's the backstabbing two faced lying democrats in hartford taxing everyone. Burn in heck every single one of them. So your looking go no further and order some food. read more

Good Chinese food. Always delivered fresh and hot. Best BBQ ribs around. Very juicy and made perfectly.

The main dish that I order is simply steamed vegetables with chicken. China House consistently serves the best.

China House has the standard selection of Chinese food. Although they serve the usual crispy chunks of chicken cooked with different sauces China House food tastes somewhat better than other places and I'm not sure why. Even the pork lo mein, which can be pretty greasy, tastes very good here. On my last visit there I found two issues. I ordered a lunch special with wonton soup. I arrived about fifteen minutes after ordering and while my entree was very hot, the wonton soup was cold. Second issue was that they have $.50 charge for credit card payments under $10. So instead of paying $5.75 as advertised I ended up paying $6.83 for a total. I was surprised because nothing on the menu says there is a minimum for credit card payments and I've never had this happen when buying Chinese food anywhere else. So be prepared to pay extra with a card if your order is under $10 read more

I hate to to complain about food but this was really bad the egg roll tasted like bread the general Tso's was like a sponge and they forgot some of our food. read more

It's small, you wouldn't expect much from the place due to the stock photos of the food on the wall, but don't let that decieve you. The prices are so low, that we almost didn't mind getting food poisoning. Good news - we didn't get food poisoning!!! ANDDDDDD *drumroll*... it was amazing food! Hands down the best General Tso's we've ever had. We were so happy. Glad we found this little gem in our new home. read more

Ok so when I walked in, this place is like every other ct Chinese place I been too, same exact menu different logo. I'm Like great same old grease crap different place, Nope this food actually has flavor instead of grease. First time here and won't be the last read more

Awesome employees, amazing food. Everything we ordered was an A+! Took about 10 min to receive our food from the time we ordered which was perfect. I would recommend this Chinese place to anyone. I plan on eating here every day for the rest of my life. #JustJokingButNotReally we would recommend the Pork Dumplings (Fried) and the orange chicken (spicy). You really can't go wrong with either of those. Roughly $10-12 per person. Meals feed around two average American people. So expect to have extra food. read more

Whenever We order Chinese food it's always from here. They offer a variety of specials. We like it because the food has been consistently good and they deliver. Friendly staff and good portions of food. The restaurant is also open later on weekends. Good/easy parking too for pick up. read more

So I ordered an almost $50 order tonight because my child requested Chinese food. So I ordered from China house as I always do unknowingly the site chose the new london store which I didn't even know existed. Half the food was overcooked and disgusting and the other half had absolutely no flavor. I was super disappointed with this order and will never order from that place again. The quaker hill location has never disappointed which is where I thought it was coming from but if these 2 locations are the same owners they should really look for another kitchen staff because it was disgusting! read more

My BF and I love this place. The food is consistently good. We typically order take out, we've never eaten in, as there's not much space in there. The wonton soup is great, and their Dieter's Special menu is also good if you're watching what you eat or don't like a ton of sauce on your food. read more

I'm not really sure how this place has such good reviews... maybe it's a better dine in experience than delivery, I'm not sure. We ordered through delivery last night, and to say i was disappointed is an understatement.. we ordered crab Rangoon's, orange chicken combo, beef chow mein, sweet and sour chicken, and king pao chicken. The Rangoon's, sweet and sour chicken and the beef chow mein was good. Everything else was burnt, dry and flavorless. The orange chicken was so over cooked it didn't even taste like orange chicken, not to mention how dry it was. The two white rice sides and the fried rice that came with the orange chicken meal were all burnt and gross. And the kung pao chicken had more veggies and nuts in it than chicken. Needless to say we will not be ordering from them again. read more

My husband and I are very picky when it comes to Chinese food and this is the only place we will order in this area.

Have ordered delivery take out from them a handful of times the last few years. Was decent until the last time i ordered from them cause my order was seriously the most disappointing thing i've ever ordered from a restaurant. Coconut chicken tasted like it was sitting in oil and then coconut sauce thrown on. It was so greasy and gross. read more

Very good. Stopped here on vacation after reading the reviews. Clean and very friendly people. Good food and served steaming hot. Try the steamed dumplings, omg huge and yummy.
