The sauce was flavorless and oily, and there was so much oil in the rice that it puddled under it. Really disappointed that a simple dish was so bad. My daughter ordered the crab rangoon. It's best for take-out/pickup and they deliver locally as it's small and only has a few sit in tables but is totally worth it. Always exactly the way I ordered and hot and delicious. Just went back as its been a few years and our regular place was closed today. This was our go to place before we moved to the town over. They did not disappoint. Food was great as always. We ordered on line this time and it was simple. Although I think they need to update their prices since what was quoted online was maybe $3 less than what they actually charged me. First time going here since Covid, and saw that they have no eat in, and the door is actually blocked. Took me a few seconds to figure out how to get the items, since the top of the door was plexiglass with a speaker in it. Something I like about these guys is that they're really quick in making your food. The foods decent, not the best but good. Haven't had any issues with the staff. I really wanted to relax & enjoy some American Chinese takeout. Unfortunately, the pandemic has hit many of the local restaurants hard & I drove to 5 different ones & they were all closed at 8 pm on a Saturday night. I found Chinese First Wok locates next to Planet Fitness. This place has taken the utmost safety & food handling precautions to provide their Chinese food to the public. They created 2 small walk up windows to exchange the food & money to the public. They ask that people call in their order & you can pick up. I ordered a large chicken & broccoli & it was very good. The Vegetables were wok fried & cooked perfectly in a light brown sauce with bones less skinless chicken pieces. The won ton soup was very good with at least 6 large won tons in a wonderful light chicken broth with some chives. The egg roll was very good, stuffed with cabbage & chicken, shrimp. It was slightly sweet which was not the norm. It may have been an anomaly. I will try one again another time. I thoroughly enjoyed all items. All 3 items were $14.75 which Zi thought was pretty reasonable. I highly recommend this place. I will definitely Italy order from here again! read more

$25 for a quart of beef & broccoli, a quart of orange chicken, and a pint of wonton soup (which had 4 large wontons) All tasted pretty great - just like you'd expect these dishes to taste, well seasoned, not too salty like some other Chinese take-out. About 25 minutes from online order until delivery. Simple online ordering, but to pay by card you have to enter your credit card number and expiration date in an unsecured "notes" section, then your card number is printed on the invoice that comes with the the delivery driver. They scratch it out with pen, but it's still readable. Hopefully they'll update their website with a secure way to pay with a card. read more

It obviously doesn't compare to "true" Chinese, or even that on the Hawaiian islands, but for some place on the East Coast? Totally. Portions are a good size, and we always have leftovers for the next day or two. Family loves the crab rangoons, chicken teriyaki, sweet & sour pork, pork fried rice, and lo mein. The turnaround time is super quick and you can just order online and head out on your way to pick it up. No one ever gets headaches or sick from here-- which, if you've eaten Chinese, you know can be a problem sometimes. Super easy to get to, it's right in the Goodwill plaza next to Planet Fitness. Just my opinion and everyone has a benchmark to which they measure their favorite foods. With that said Chinese First Wok has many good things about it. One they are fast! Lightning fast! This food is always Ahhhh-mazing. It took me a while to notice it tucked in next to Planet Fitness, but now I won't order Chinese food ANYWHERE else! It's so fresh, the vegetables are always colorful and vibrant- which is a telltale sign that they are cooked perfectly with a slight crunch. The rice is always perfectly cooked. The steamed dumplings (pork and shrimp) are PERFECT! Not too doughy, and the dipping sauce that comes with them are phenomenal. This is the best Chinese Restaurant in Groton hands down. My husband and I get takeout from this place at least once a week. Our usual go to is Sesame chicken combination platter with white rice. Amazing!! Always tastes fresh and hot. Every time I go to pick it up it's ready to go, they are so fast and so nice! I also suggest their Crab Rangoon, fried chicken and fried rice. Super delicious and the amount they give you is great for the price. New owners. Food was way above average. Benchmark of a great Chinese restaurant for me is hot and sour soup, this hot and sour soup blows any competition way out of the water. The eggrolls are full of cabbage and shrimp and pork and carrots without the grease. they're dry but crunchy and delicious. The bone in spare ribs are fall off the bone tender but without the sweet red GUI candy like sauce most Chinese restaurant have on them. The chicken on the stick looks really blackened and dry, but is so sweet and moist and delicious the first bite in it is amazing. read more

An awesome place for take out! We ordered online- there's no indication that tells you how long it will take, but we got there 15 minutes later and it was ready. Great prices and great quality food- the lo mein had nice fresh, crunchy vegetables, the dumplings were beef and so good, and sesame chicken was still a little crispy under the sauce, not soggy at all. Overall, the food was fresh and delicious, and the noodles in the lo mein were wonderful, the best I've had in a while. My only issue was with the mu shu chicken, instead of the fresh, tender-crisp veggies, it was mushy and overcooked. It tasted like it was made far in advance and kept warm. Mu shu is one of my favorite dishes, and sadly, this was disappointing. Everything else was really good, and we will definitely go back.....just not for mu shu! read more
