Located off the I95 Overpass Bridge in the Shopping Center with Staples, Denny's, & Texas Roadhouse. This small mostly takeout Chinese is located in a little side area tucked away from the strip shops. (It is directly across from Ring's End & Benjamin Moore). It's very informal & simply decorated with 5 Formica banquette seating. The prices are very reasonable. They offer most entrees in Pint or Quart size. Their menu has a very good varied selection of American Chinese food pretty much the same as comparable Chinese restaurants in the area. They have plenty of vegetarian & vegan selections. I ordered a small Chicken with Broccoli which was pretty standard. It was good but not a standout. The white rice was good also but again nothing to write home about. The egg roll was slightly greasy but not horribly bad. Overall it was fine. I think the low prices of their dishes keeps the place bustling. I would recommend Quart sized since the small is an individual sized portion: pretty small. For 2 adults, I would order 3 small OR 2 large entrees with 2 egg rolls. That would satiate 2 adults. No leftovers though. They do a brisk takeout. There were no diners while I waited for them to prepare my food. Couple of things to know beforehand, some menu items are more expensive now contrary to the menu I had and they added a $3 charge for delivery AFTER I asked for total price when I placed my order. It'd be nice to know how much I'm paying so I can factor in tip and make sure I have enough cash (I actually thought delivery was free) Now I ordered beef and broccoli with white rice and fried chicken wings with fries. Super nasty. The duck sauce with beef and broccoli instantly made me gag and throw up. Both the chicken and beef were tough yet soggy and drowned in a nasty sauce. I wouldn't leave this review but I went to return the food and the woman at the front tried to argue with me about it and called me a liar. ow. I've never left a bad review before but I'm about to. This is just the worst customer experience I ever experienced. They were out of something I ordered online which is completely understandable that kind of thing happens. But when they called I said "ok no problem but we have a food allergy (I had called earlier to make sure that would be ok and left notes in the app) that we would either need a refund or something vegetarian without celery, I was told they don't have anything else without celery and I said ok fine then we can't eat it and just refund it no big deal. They don't know how to refund it. Ok understandable apps are kinda bs I get that but I still can't eat what you want me to pay for. So they offered me 2$ worth of steamed broccoli instead of the 10$ app I ordered and when I said that doesn't work for us it will just go uneaten (btw I had to hand my phone to someone with a man's voice to even get that because I was told to take chicken fingers or shut up) was told they don't want to serve us never order from there again (which I won't). So I asked to cancel the whole order. Which I was told no I was being charged (including the l absent app). So if you want to gobble up sexist junk food that doesn't care about their customers I'm behind you but if that bothers you I would seek elsewhere. There are plenty of local establishments that are more kind and understanding. I can't help not being able to eat something and I'm reasonable or at least I try to be. I'm willing to take a refund or at least something I can actually eat or want. When they refused I said cancel the order and they wouldn't, I'm happy to take my patronage elsewhere where they are able to accommodate. They refused and charged me anyway This isn't a place where they give a crap. If you have legit food allergies or a conscious just pass and get something from a local place that does care. So many great local places that are willing to be understanding. I called ahead, I looked up recipes, I did everything that's on my plate to make this not their problem. I tried to explain my situation. I tried to be reasonable. I'm honestly hurt they decided that because I can't and I don't want to be treated like I owe them because I simply can't use what they wanted me too and didn't have what I ordered and did everything on my end to not make things their problem that I'm the issue. CUSTOMER SERVICE!! The lady who answered the phone was extremely rude! She was very rushy and obnoxious. The printed menu says that an minimum of $12 is required for delivery but there is actually a $15 minimum. There is also an extra $3 fee because they don't trust that you will tip them for the 20 min commute on top of an actual tip. By the end of the call I was completely disgusted and cancelled my order. Great place for awful food and service! Will never go back to first wok ever again. My husband ordered orange chicken and it was red same with my sesame chicken and they both tasted the same( no flavor). Plus it took us 25 minutes to order two meals because the lady barely knew English. Then when we got our meals there was something black in my husbands chicken, he didn't know until he bit into it and it was the most disgusting thing ever. I'm like pretty sure it was a cockroach. First time I've ever ordered food from this place and so I wasn't sure what to expect but they are amazing. There egg rolls are FANTASTIC! And I don't ever like egg rolls but these were so good !! About what you would expect for a cheap chinese restaurant. Food is average quality not overwhelmingly good but not terrible

I have lived on the East Coast my entire life so I know that our version of Chinese food is not nearly as good as some of the places I have dined when I am in other parts of the country, but for me, Golden Wok is one of the better of the take out Chinese places in New London County. There are far, far worse and I have sadly had them. There dishes are consistent, hot, and made with fresh ingredients. Pick the standard favorites (pot stickers, beef broccoli, sesame chicken, etc...) and you won't be disappointed. This is definitely not a place to sit down and eat, call first and come pick up your order and enjoy a pretty good Chinese takeout meal on your couch with a movie! read more

If I could give a 0 rating I would. I ordered food from this one tonight; I ordered a boneless spare rib combo with pork fried rice and added lobster to it. The lady who took my order over the phone said it would be $5 for the lobster (thinking it would be throughout the rice). Upon recieveing the order I was given a piece the size of a quarter. Very disappointed because I paid $5 extra for this; I called back (thinking maybe they made a mistake) the lady said to me, "Well lobster is expensive" I said but it was the size of a quarter. She then said, "Well, I'll give you $2 off the next time you order" Stressing to her I will NEVER order again because of this poor experience and them not willing to help me out nicely. She then said " Well, were very busy and then all I heard was ***CLICK*** " Then the phone hung up. I cant believe this is the service that was provided to customers.
