Stay Away from here if you visit Foxwoods! My husband and I visited yesterday while at Foxwoods. The storefront looks very up-scale (and the prices indicate up-scale as well). Firstly we had a server who didn't care. She was emotionless, and slowly dragged herself from point A to B throughout the visit. There was no friendly greeting, not a single smile or any means of making even small conversation...straight to business it was "what can I get for you?" in a monotone "I could care less" type of voice. I ordered the duck soup as I immediately got excited when I saw delicious looking ducks roasting live in front of you behind a large window as you enter. My husband got a chicken and vegetable dish. My duck soup looked appetizing until I literally pulled out every piece of "duck" from my soup because it was ALL bone. I struggled to find any meat and when I did it was liquored with fat. $10.50 for broth, noodles and duck bones. My husbands chicken was something he would not even try. It was entirely congealed meat - shiny and rubber looking/feeling. The vegetables were clearly frozen out of a bag. $16.50 first of all for a chicken and vegetable dish is ridiculous, never mind having it taste like a frozen TV Dinner. We kindly told our server (after several minutes of making eye contact with her as she ignored the fact that we clearly needed something) we just could not even eat our dishes. As we attempted to explain our issues with the dishes she just stopped us dead sentence and said "ill get the manager" - Right......I should have remembered you didn't care. A female manager came over and I immediately apologized in advance as we are usually the type of people to just eat what we ordered; however considering we could not even eat our dishes we needed to spend our money else where in order to get fed! -Also mind you if the dish prices honestly reflected what we were purchasing maybe we (A) would have sucked it up and said "well you get what you pay for" or (B) decided to eat elsewhere. As we were trying to voice our concerns the manager had a look the entire time that gave us the impression she was just waiting for us to finish and get it over with (and it only took 20 seconds to explain and show her) . We never said anything rude or mean...we just asked that it be taken off our bill as we are not happy with the quality. She argued with me informing me that duck is the most popular dish. (Okay....well...what does that have to do with my opinion? And maybe if I had actually gotten some duck in my soup my opinion would have been different). My husband again apologized and said, "we will pay for our beers but we will just have to eat elsewhere" The manager's response was "Yes you will pay for your beers" with her arrogant face still painted on. What?!? Was that comment even necessary? We left after paying and still left our waitress a $10 tip...we would have tipped her accordingly anyways but really didn't want to leave that much however we didn't have a choice because after the bill was dropped they ignored us. Also, not sure if they are linked but if you look up Golden Dragon you will find that several of them have been shut down for health violation reasons.... So many other places to eat at Foxwoods! Sadly I don't know where to start with this review. The food use to be amazing and service use to be awesome. But my visit last night ended with disgust and disappointment . The crabrangoons were point blank not good. For dinner we ordered Mongolian beef which was a sad sight, the "crispy noodles" were so stale and had a taste of old oil, and there were about less than 5 pieces of thinly sliced beef for $17. The sesame beef were huge chunks of over battered deep fried pieces of beef over the same " crispy noodles" that were inedible. The fried rice was probably the only thing we enjoyed. The service was horrible. The server didn't know where to place the dishes on the table and pretty much piled them on top of another. Constantly hovered over me while I was eating and had no sense of personal space and didn't even excuse himself. We have been coming here for more years than I can count and sadly to say I don't think I will ever be coming back. On the last note... the fortune cookies were so stale that you can squeeze them through the bag and see it fold. read more

Stopped at this place while at the foxwood casino for a late dinner. Consensus is overpriced medicore Chinese. I really wanted the chefs special lobster but since it only came in 2.5 pounds I figured it was too much for me. I ordered some spicy shrimp and chicken with veggies dish and dumplings. The entree was ok, nothing special. The dumpling wrapper was too chewy. Total was over $35. I could get better tasting Chinese food for half the price elsewhere. read more

Terrible service. We booked a 25 person party 2 months out. When we arrived we were seated by the person we booked through and that was the last time we saw her. Multiple people got up during the meal to use the restroom outside of the restaurant near the scorpion bar. 3 of the party members did not receive main meals. 5 did not receive appetizers. At this point. We didn't want desert. The management didn't move on the price since we booked a prefixed menu for 45 bucks a meal. So some of our members did not get to eat but the price was non negotiable. We were a difficult party since we were large and ordered drinks. The entrees were not appetizing at this point. On the plus ode the fortune cookies were good. I would not recommend going here, and honestly based on the way this was handled this I would not recommend Foxwoods resort in anyway after this experience. read more

It was late @ night & I had just been playing a poker tournament all day and was starving. So my friend choose this place. I was too tired to even look @ the reviews. The food was soooo bland and tasteless & the food did not sit well with me @ all & I was not feeling well @ all. Never had this feeling ever. The only reason I gave it even a star let alone 2 is because the manager was really cool. My friend was trying to talk to some girls (he had no chance, lol) so the manager put these tables together so the girls can sit next to him and he can strike out once again. read more

Great place to eat at Foxwoods. Sometimes the service seems a little slow but the food is definitely worth the wait. Shanghainese fried noodles is some of the best Udon noodles you'll ever have, it's great as a side dish for sharing or just to have as your main course. The hot tea that they just give to your table is a great touch to enjoy your dining experience as well. read more

Peking duck is delish! I've had it at some fancy place in Virginia where all of the presidents so go. They have table side service. They have fancy tiki drinks with umbrellas in them. I don't need all that jazz! I need duck with crispy skin that turns to delicious glistening fat once it touches your lips and fingers. I need hot pancakes with all of the fixings on the side. I need a quiet place to gorge myself. Golden Dragon has it all. $42.00 for a Peking Duck...and it was definitely enough for two hungry people. The only downside...they serve you the head...and I totally wanted to eat everything in it...but it was overcooked. I got the Mongolian Beef and I don't know if I was just really wanting chinese but it really hit the spot. It was a delicious combination of a spicy sauce, beef, onions, peppers, crunchy noodles and rice. Combined together it was all very delicious! I don't know about the other menu items, they all seemed fine but they were all actual dishes (as opposed to a simple "boneless ribs and rice" plate which some people may like better). It's also a little expensive, my dish cost $15 and that's by far the least expensive you're gonna get. Someone ordered the roast duck at our table and they liked it hut did not enjoy the amount of fat on it. Overall we had a good experience and I would definitely reccomend if you're feeling Chinese. We went here for my mom's birthday.. it was pretty expensive and reading the other reviews, it looks like it's a hit or miss. Food-wise: We got the whole fried flounder and the Peking Duck... both were amazing. I'm normally not a fan of duck but if you get the Peking Duck with the steamed buns and make yourself little sandwiches, it tastes amazing. Service-wise: The server was helpful recommending items on the menu and she was pretty attentive to what we needed. We started our meal with the appetizer platter which had bbq pork, crab Rangoon, fried prawns, and spring rolls. Loved the appetizers, especially the prawns and the wonderful dipping sauces that accompanies the dish. Next, we had the imperial peking duck with the Chinese buns and of course, hoisin sauce. Love it! We also ordered the Chilean sea bass with black bean sauce. The pieces of fish sat on top of tofu which is fine, but, the tofu pieces were way too thick and big! I love tofu but they put way too much for this dish. Still, the flavor was excellent! I think the price is a little bit on the high side but the food is delicious. Unless you are paying with your Dreamcard, plan on getting ripped off. $6 for a cup of average soup. The entrees are 3x - 4x the price of normal Chinese restaurants but the same quality. The only thing that saved my experience here was the fly that landed in my food after 2-3 bites. We were able to show the fly to the waitress who refunded our money. Ugh. If you're expecting a quality Chinese meal, it's best you go elsewhere. Extremely high prices and terrible tasting food makes this a no go for me. We ordered chicken fried rice, roast bbq duck, roast pork, and short ribs. The rice was not cooked properly, some of it burnt, some of it not cooked at all. The roast duck came out salty--2 hours later and I can still taste the salt on my tongue! The roast pork was also very salty and dry. The short ribs might have saved the meal, if they weren't mostly fat. I genuinely stay clear of the restaurants in the casino, but this is one specifically to avoid. I understand the desire of Asian cuisine in this area of Connecticut, since it is very obviously lacking, but this is not a good representation of Chinese food... or whatever it is they are trying to market it as. read more

The lady hostess was very very rude. Wouldn't listen to us. All she said was "No Tables ". She kept saying the same thing over and over again. She won't listen to our request. All we want to tell her is that we can sit 4 per table, since we got 8 people. She went on to get the 3 & the 4 people who waited behind us. Very mean Chinese lady. This place was disgusting. I would give it no stars if I could. First off, everything tastes frozen, packaged, or pre-made, for these prices, they definitely shouldn't be. The Mongolian beef, hardly had any beef, but I would guess a full onion, the sauce just tastes like top ramen seasoning packages. The Lo mein, was also terrible, absolutely no flavor, it was dry, and I'm not even sure if it had chicken or rubber on it. The staff also was NOT attentive at all. This restaurant should be closed for good. Golden Dragon does not belong in this building. We both enjoy the casino very much, and we do stay over night a few times a year. As you walk in, they sit you even with just a few people dining took them 11 minutes to come and see us. I asked my wife if she wanna to just get up in leave, she said lets give them a change big mistake. Once we order and the food was served my soup was ok, but my wife her plate was a horror show. We called the manager once he came over and he try to explain, I looked at him like REALLY!!!. he just offered a free desert, then he just took my wife food way without asking if she still wanna. I know from past experience that the only 2 dishes here to order are fried whole flounder or my absolute favorite is the short ribs with honey sauce. OMG it's sooooo good. They changed the name from the old name but it's still good. Other things on the menu is meh... So if you go there and use your points, that's something to order and you know it won't go to waste. Just went to Golden Dragon for the first time and was pleasantly surprised, for the most part. The Singapore fried noodle dish was excellent. It comes as a massive heap of noodles that could easily feed 2 people - not bad for $15. The noodle are stir-fried with egg, shrimp, scallions, and pork, plus a spicy curry powder. Having said that, there are some negatives: -They only carry 1 type of sake, and it is terrible. -Prices of some dishes are ridiculous - many are $25 or more, and I'm sure they aren't worth that much. The wonton soup was good, but why are they charging $8 for a soup that should be $3. -The staff is not very friendly. They do their job pretty well and I wasn't kept waiting, but they are too busy running around and don't really pay much attention to each customer. Update: on my 2nd visit, no one ever noticed that my drink was empty, and the waiter never came back so I didn't get a chance to place another drink order. Oh well. Overall it's a decent place with some nice menu options - just be aware of the negatives. read more

Things here have really gone downhill. Ordered an $8 bowl of wonton soup to receive 5 wontons in a tiny little bowl. As if the small portion wasn't enough, I found out from a server that the wontons weren't made in-house. That explained the horrible cheap taste of frozen wontons. If you're gonna charge me for cheap crappy frozen food, at least have the decency to lower the price to reflect the poor quality. The fried lobster was ok- I don't eat lobster, and kind of don't know how to eat it, so I didn't eat much of it. Being pescatarian, I ordered the curry shrimp. It was pretty good. Portions seemed more on the small side. I was bummed when the waiter told me that they didn't have any milk tea. WTF! I love milk tea. Ok. So here you sort of have to know what to order. We've been here many times and have tried so many disappointing dishes. But thanks to our many tries and recommendations from friends and family, we now know what is good and what is not. Stay away from the soup bowls. It's a Chinese restaurant. Eat the chefs special dishes. The best is the honey ribs( crispy and very flavorful) the walnut shrimp, the clams, the Chinese broccoli in brown sauce, the eggplant veggie dish, the duck is also good. Fried rice is good. Went to the Golden Dragon to celebrate a birthday, and believe me, there was nothing golden about this experience! Terrible service, we ordered a lot of food, spent a lot of money, and the wait staff acted like they were doing us a favor by serving us. Food was expensive, small portions and not good. Asked for water and never received, never checked on us after taking our order, did not accommodate a birthday request or sing happy birthday. Honestly not sure how someone would call this a restaurant, terrible food and service, at the most expensive price! Recommendation: Panda Express is much better value at about a forth the price (only a 2 min walk from this place) and the food is delicious. Decent food at a very high price. The service here is amazing though! Everyone was very attentive and sweet. :) I don't recommend their moo shu pork. I ordered quite a few dishes for my family, and the moo shu pork was disliked. The stir-fried clams in black bean sauce, shredded duck with mixed vegetables, shrimp/pork house fried rice and shanghainese fried noodles were good. As others have mentioned, the quality of food is not the best. This is my first time here and I had very high expectations given the decor of the place, it is a very nice restaurant and the service was nice however the food was subpar. I got the salt and pepper chicken wings and chicken wings themselves were like the wing dings you get from a pizza place sprinkled with fried chopped garlic and peppers. The honey short ribs,I had a different thought in my mind but they were thinly sliced beef not the typical short ribs you would see in a restaurant. The kimchi fried rice was again subpar at best, kind of bland not the best flavor unfortunately due to the food quality I can't recommend coming to this place. Perhaps the other dishes could be good but the ones I purchased were not, my husband and I left here feeling very unsatisfied for a $56 price tag. read more

Absolutely an awful experience. The smell in the area of our booth was unsettling. We were totally ignored for 15 minutes. I had to flag down someone in uniform who pretended they didn't understand English. The manager took our order and it was purely down hill. The food was good, but waiting an hour is ridiculous. No one ever apologized, they actually over charged us for items we never ordered, and that took another half hour to correct.
