Several years ago, I had the Bariatric sleeve done, so an AYCE buffet is just a waste of money for me. I can eat about half a plate and I'm done. But Tommy loves the Corral for breakfast, so I go with him. There are quite a few things on the breakfast bar that are actually very good. The rest of it is just food for the masses. I always get an omelette and sausage biscuit and gravy. Good stuff! If you have a late breakfast, they start putting out the lunch stuff, and you can get both! It's always been quick and easy getting through the line to pay for our meal and on our way to the buffet. The food is great. I most enjoy the fried catfish and large butterflied fried shrimp. The Golden Corral has the best fried chicken!! And I was able to order some fudge to go... and there are plenty of other food combinations too. Stanley Jay came by to greet us and like always left his card with his name on it so that we would know who our server was. Gladly, we saw that he had his cash app on there as well, we appreciate his working smarter idea. It makes it so much easier to leave a tip directly to the person who is waiting on us. read more

I've eaten at a number of Golden Corral's for years. They are all just average places to eat and this one is no different. I ate some of the Mexican dishes, beef brisket (very greasy) and some fried chicken. The fried chicken was not bad and I enjoyed the Mexican food. The brisket had so much fat in it that I didn't eat much of it. The iced tea was good and the people were nice. But $20 for what I got was about twice what it was worth. I would've been better off at Arby's or Jack-in-the-Box. read more

The servers are always nice & the food always seems fresh to me. It's definitely not a fancy restaurant, but the food tastes fine. I just had to let y'all know how awesome Golden Corral was to my family. I called & let them know that my family was needing to come after my Uncle's funeral. Since it was lunch time, I thought man, I should've given them more than a 30 minute heads up! The manager said yes ma'am come on. They seated us in the banquet room & we were able to have private but fun time too. I forgot to get our waitress' name but she was AMAZING! She deserves a day off! I go there trying the steaks. They're always dry and they always trim off all the fat, which makes them most of the way flavorless I give him the benefit of the doubt and been over there multiple times and try the steak cooked different ways, but still dry and most of the way flavorless read more

SOME of the foods off the grill and the salad bar was ok, most of the side dishes were watery and lacked flavor yet others were extremely over salted! I would say you get what you pay for but honestly it's a bit pricier than it's worth. The servers were young and seemed to care more about taking and playing than actually doing work. I have been here in the past, and was happy with everything, but now they get your food for you, while you're in line. There was a total of 6 tables when a friend and I went. I went in line to get food and it appeared that nobody wanted to get it for me. I feel like, I'm a paying customer, and if this is the way it's going to be, we won't be back. March 12, 3017 at about 11:40am the food was pretty good. But I see the staff in the salad bar area eat food from a bowl with his fingers with his gloves on. He then went and started filling stuff up without changing his gloves... yuck!!! then used his apron to wipe of the rail above the food instead of a rag. I reported this to the manager "Austin" and he does go speak to him. The Bowl of food is removed and he changes his gloves. Then i see another manager staff running Around grabbing bowls filling them up. Takes handfuls of onions out of the bucket on the table to put in a bowl. He goes to the kitchen area opening can of food. He never washed his hands and doesn't have gloves on. COME ON GOLDEN CORRAL YOU GOTTA DO BETTER THAN THIS!!!!! read more

Bathroom didn't have soap. Calls themselves a buffet but doesn't serve chicken strips.

Not happy at all. Definitely don't come here for your Christmas lunch with family. They won't let you sit together and definitely won't let you switch to in a table that empty next your family. Hubby has been hungry for roast beef, and GC makes some good and tender. The place was quite full and more coming in. The friendly staff were doing a great job clearing tables and getting refills. Plenty of hot foods, huge selection. Lots of people enjoying the chocolate fountain, dipping strawberries or marshmallows. Cotton candy was a hit with the little ones. The prices have increased, $13 adults. If you've got big eaters, then it's more cost effective. Usually, when we spend that much money at non-buffets, we have leftovers for one or two meals. It's a very quick in and out option with something to please most. This store is better than the metroplex Golden Corrals. What I've tried and recommend is the roast beef, chicken fried steak, fried chicken, steak, boneless or whole fried catfish, mashed potatoes and giant yeast rolls. FYI, there was fried liver and gizzards. I've purchased by-the-pound, always fresh, mini orange slice candies that is only available at Golden Corral. read more

It's going to take me a while to get use to the new place. I've been a loyal customer at the old place and you know what they say about change. Had dinner there tonight, Wednesday and it was packed. Staff seemed to be working hard and not missing a beat. Most of the food I put on my plate was fresh tasting and satisfying except the the dessert. The piece of chocolate cake that I had was stale and definately not fresh. Don't know how long desserts can stay on the bar but this piece had seen betterdays. Overall the dinner meal is very good except a bit more pricey then before. The seafood entrees are just hype as the quality seems to be no better than something you'd get from Long John Silvers at a better price. I will definately be back. I have been to the new GC, with my sister and brother in law. The food is Ok.....BUT I just called, to find out if they have prime rib. They do,after 4 pm every day, and on Sundays. I also asked if there was creamed spinach,like it says on the online menu? The manager says they DO NOT! , which is a disappointment. They were out of deviled eggs and I asked the manager if they were putting more out and he made sure more were put out immediately. A good choice of green veggies and salad items. Golden Corral exceeded my expectations. The roast beef was very good, especially for a buffet, the salad fixings were fresh and delicious. The waitress was very attentive to our needs for beverages and taking our plates. I could barely move I was so full after sampling a number of things. I still managed to eat two pieces of carrot cake!! I never do that. I was amazed at how good the carrot cake was. The fact that I had seconds says it all! We went in the afternoon and the price was very reasonable. We will be back when I can button my pants again!! read more

Had the worst experience ever at the Abilene location. We never once had our server come over until we stood up to leave. She explained to us that she was to busy setting up a different section for an inspection the following day. The only person that came to our table was a little girl that gave us plates. She wasn't wearing gloves to handle our plates. I saw her on her cell phone as we were coming in. Is that sanitary when we are asked to wear masks and gloves at the buffet bar, but there are none to use(I have Pictures). You have to go around looking for them. Which I guess was to much for the employees getting plates of food. They couldn't be bothered to use gloves(I have pictures). Half the buffet was already removed when we got there. I had to ask a guy walking by if they had mash potatoes. He grabbed a pan from a cart that was sitting in the middle of the isle. They must have already cleaned the warmers. I guess they wanted to get out early. Half the time we had to listen to vacuuming. I guess they have to vacuum out the water from the steam tables. For a meal that cost over $50.00 I thought we would at least get a server and hot food. I guess I was wrong. That level of service is just unacceptable. This was good The variety of food was unlike any other buffet that I have ever been to. However, It was packed the day we went so things were a little crazy. Extra long waits for drinks to be refilled etc. The food taste and temps were great and again the selection is second to none. I would go back and try this again for sure. read more
