The grill station wasn't open, and an entire buffet line was closed, making the selection feel very limited. The highlights of the meal were the steamed fish and the dumplings--both were fresh and delicious. However, those two items weren't enough to make up for the lack of variety. Unchanged from when I was a teenager in Western NY and we would go out for Italian; the decor and menu seem to be the same. But the quality of ingredients needs to be current. We have come to expect better! A lot of Italian places are doing more creative things, with better calamari. Appetizers such as burrata and carpaccio are present on modern Italian menu's. If you are going to stick with the old stuff, it needs to be GREAT. Okay, enough of the negativity. The Chicken Florentine ordered by my companion was very good. The sauce was nice, flavorful, and not too heavy (although perhaps too generous but that's going back to the dated thing). I have a sampler of stuffed pastas, and the red sauce was very much to my liking. A touch of sweet, not too acidic, just the way I like sauce to be. They have a decent wine selection. I didn't try the desserts. I'm quite a cannoli purist...and I hate to be disappointed, so I didn't risk it. Overall--we'll be back. We'll be back for the friendly and consistent service, the generally good food (skip the fried stuff), and the kitschy ambience.

Wow! I used to love this place. What happened??? Incredibly rude. When we arrived, the hostesses up front completely ignored us and continued their conversation. Once they did finally acknowledge us, she continued to ignore us, (literally) throwing our forks onto the table and walking away. During our meal - the owner (or owner's adult son?) sat down in the table next to us with a KETTLE of soup he'd taken from the buffet, and he proceeded to SLURP up the soup with the serving laddle. Slirping, and SLIRPING, and playing with his phone. When I finally asked him to please stop, or do it somewhere else - he gave me a dirty look and pretended not to speak English. Our table was never cleared. Not even once. I had to go and ask for more water. The food is okay. That is not the problem. How do you treat customers this way amd expect to stay in business? We have been eating at this restaurant since they reopened in their new location. At first, it was good, even great! Now, not so much. The quality of the food has gone downhill. The buffet never seems to be full. It seems like you're getting the bottom of the pan every time. A lot of times I've gotten food that was cold. From a buffet. From a buffet that's heated, with heat lamps overhead! The meat in the various dishes ranges from chewy gristle to ...well, I'm not quite sure how to describe it. It's like it has no texture whatsoever. The staff does not speak enough English to carry on a conversation if a guest needs something or has a question. Overall, I'm disappointed. My kids and I love this place. The food is always fresh and they have a nice selection. They have a couple dishes that you can't find at the average Chinese buffet, like butter shrimp and sliced fried potatoes with bacon and green onions. This place is huge and has so many options to try. I didn't find anything that was super amazing. It's more of a quantity not quality type place. They have a build your own bowl bar and sushi and loads of other stuff. They even have some fun things to try like whole baby squid. The kids had fun with that one. read more
