I saw that Golden China is a place on yelp that doesn't get much photo or review traffic. Thus, I decided to give it a shot because it's actually in a prominent shopping plaza in Lighthouse Point so to me it seems like something didn't connect. The chicken sticks were dry and thin & the potstickers were just OK I've had much better. The Szechuan chicken was good and I thought they put a decent amount of chicken there, however the shrimp with lobster sauce they barely put any shrimp in there and they don't even put the ground pork which is the old-school traditional style like how they do up in New York. I spotted the cheap yellow fried rice, they don't put any scallions or pork strips in the mix soup which I've gotten that in mix soup in many Chinese restaurants. This Chinese resturant, has been a stable for many families in the area for a long time. The one thing that they are known for aside from delicious food is never to disappoint. Somehow there's always leftovers no matter how many friends you have over or kids. Which makes for a lovely treat the next day. It's prepared in such a way everything looks just so good. They do have delicious egg drop soup and my husband is one that loves the wonton soup along with my daughters. I love chicken chow mein which is chicken and vegetables and the rice is just outstanding it's very good. I think you should give this a try if you're at home and need some warm comfort food this is definitely the place . read more

Not a good first experience. Wife called to and placed an order. When it came time for payment she was told that they wouldn't take a card over the phone unless the person with the card was present (we were getting the kids food while out)...the lady on the phone said "OK, I cancel order"....they sent the food anyway and had a poor delivery guy on the phone with us for 30 minutes who eventually left WITH the food!!! We offered to take a pic of front and back of card and send it in...no bueno! They need to hire somebody that speaks English to handle phones!!! read more

Had take out Chinese while visiting in Ft Lauderdale. This restaurant did not take American Express but luckily we had enough cash to order the food we wanted. We had a beef with broccoli that came with rice and an egg roll and chicken with snow pea which also came with the rice and egg roll. We added a cup of wanton soup. Golden China is located in a strip mall so plenty of parking. service was good and the food was tasty. normal Chinese food but large enough portions to have leftovers. The egg rolls were very good and hot on the inside even after we got them back to our guest house. They were crispy on the outside which is what an egg roll should be. They failed to give us fortune cookies which is something I think all Chinese fast food restaurants should automatically do. But not a big deal. Vegetables were fresh and crispy, not over cooked and the meat was tender. For fast food Chinese I would recommend. read more

Golden China. I'd like to give it a better rating. The food is pretty good. But the service is just so slow. So freaking slow. Simply put, this place has 4 Star Food and 2 Star Service. Average the two together, you get 3 Stars. Yup seems legit. I've had their General Tso's Chicken, General Tso's Tofu (which was served to me with the sauce on the side for whatever reason), Broccoli with Garlic Sauce, their egg-rolls, the Hot and Sour Soup, and the Egg Drop Soup all at one point or another. I've also had the rice, both white and fried. All the food is pretty good. It's about what you'd expect out of Chinese restaurant in America, if not a little above-average. I've never had a bad meal, so that's pretty good. If I was just rating on food alone, this would be 4 Stars. But the service. Well it's not so great. Let me preface this - the workers (owners?) are very friendly. Everyone there usually has a smile on their face, and they seem genuinely happy that you came to their restaurant. They all mean well, and I can honestly say that I feel happy when I watch them prepare my food. They keep a well-stocked lineup of condiments, and their drinks are always nice and cold. But it's just too damn slow! Listen, I usually come in shortly after they open, around 11am, for my lunch-break at work. I work very close to this establishment, so picking up food from there should be very convenient. I'm not joking when I've experienced the following situation on multiple occasions: I place a small order for pickup. It takes me 10-15 minutes to leave work and then arrive at the restaurant. I then proceed to wait 20-25 MINUTES for my food to be prepared. When this happens, my lunch-break is shot, and I still haven't eaten. That absolutely screws me over big time. Now, I understand. I usually call right after they've opened. They might still be getting situated and whatnot. But that's not a great excuse. I should NEVER have to wait in excess of 30 MINUTES for a small one-item order. Lately, I've been trying to accommodate to their slowness by leaving work 20-30 minutes AFTER place my order so that HOPEFULLY it will be ready in time... and I'm not gonna lie, one time it still wasn't ready. This is by far the slowest Chinese restaurant I have ever been to. If Golden China picked up the pace a little, it would be an easy 4 Stars, heck, maybe even 5 Stars if I were feeling VERY generous (but I probably wouldn't). Instead, it gets a 3 Star rating. Bottom line: The restaurant does most things right. They always serve good food, and they treat the customer right. Their prices are fair, their menu is diverse, and they provide a good experience overall. But if you're even in a hurry, definitely look elsewhere for your Chinese take-away. read more

AVOID THIS RESTAURANT!! I wrote a review previously and gave them decent reviews based on delivery but now that I've been here a couple times in person I WON'T BE BACK! First of all they have boxes of junk in the so called dining room since they all but live there. The one table they do have is always occupied by either elderly family members or their children. The younger woman who works the counter is usually watching videos on her cell phone and seems perturbed that you're actually interrupting her by placing a food order. And the #1 reason the avoid this place: IT'S NASTY AND UNSAFE I placed my order like I had before and noticed they used tongs to take something out of a metal bowl that sits inches off the floor on a cart. IT'S THE RAW CHICKEN, it isn't refrigerated. I called the health department and reported them. They told me they've been warned numerous times but they keep on doing it. You can also view this on health inspections thru MyFlorida.gov They were closed on this last inspection but not for that. I'll just copy and paste from the inspector report. Good solid go to Chinese food, the only recommendation I have have its for some of the meats like the pork dishes they cut the meat into small strips and its seems like there is no meat at all...and seems overcook, other then that this place is solid, had good food...I really like the kung Pao Chicken and Chicken with Veggies ....the soups are all so good ..especially the wonton soup....buy extra wontons you will like them! If zero stars were an option, they would have it, the food was horrible. The fried rice tasted days old, like it was cooked on an open flame. We ordered vegetable chow mien and received chop suey, when we called to say they sent us the wrong dish we were told that chow mien does not have noodles, and we were wrong. After three different people on the phone asked if we were placing an order, they did not offer to remedy their mistake and finally we got frustrated and hung up. We are west coast folks who know our asian food, and we do know the difference between chow mien and chop suey. Our children turned up their noses and we have opted for a PB&J.
