Not the best takeout experience we have experienced. Many of the items featured on their takeout menu were not available but we did find a roast pork egg foo yung and eggplant with beef. Both dishes were substandard to food we have ordered from here before and we wound up throwing out and thawed out some left overs from the freezer. Don't know what happened at this place and the takeout menus packed in the bag still list dishes they say they no longer make. This experience and food was certainly less than expected. read more

We did some takeout from here the other day as our regular place was closed on a Sunday and we were craving Chinese food. After looking at a few of the things on their menu online, we were told they didn't have them. We wound up getting some roast pork egg foo yung and an order of beef with eggplant. We were told it would be about 10 minutes when we called in the order. The food was ready -- bagged on boxed -- when my husband arrived to pick it up. The egg foo yung was three large rounds of pork, onions, and bean sprouts in the egg "omelet". It was decent. It came with some brown sauce that was a mix of soy and cornstarch, so it was a bit gelatinous, but still tasted okay. It came with a container of white rice. The beef with chinese eggplant was inedible. We both tried a few bites and decided the meat was not good and the sauce over everything just was awful. It came with a container of white rice. They've had quite a few different owners here over the years and it seems there was another change, again. We'd gotten a copy of their printed menu with our order -- just in case -- and the items we were told they didn't have are still on this "new" printed menu. I was looking for a take out Chinese food place in the pompano area this past Saturday. I honestly was clueless because I'm not 100% familiar with the north broward area nor have I ever ate Chinese up in that area. Long story short I do however work in pompano beach and have heard many coworkers ordering from China palm. So decided to give them a try. I called when I got into my vehicle and ordered two shrimp with lobster sauce meals and they came with egg rolls, also a small order of crab ragoons. Took me around 10 minutes or so to get to their location from my job which is on Hammondville road. I got there promptly and the man working the front was very friendly and helped me quick. When I received my order everything was hot and fresh. Finally when I got the food to where my relative is staying in margate. We took everything out the bag and started to dig in. We were both impressed with the portion size of the meals. Also everything tasted great! The shrimp with lobster sauce was good with plenty of large shrimp, the pork fried rice, and egg rolls, and ragoons all tasted great too. This was my first time ordering from China palm and it won't be my last. I'll definitely pick up food from them again. read more

I ordered a combo dinner, Kung Pau chicken, hot and sour soup and duck sauce and hot mustard. The hot and sour soup tasted mostly of pepper and not much sour. The bag of crispy noodles to accompany the soup were quite stale and not edible. The meal was very average in taste, especially if you enjoy lots of celery, carrots and green bell peppers. If I wanted a salad I would have ordered one. I specifically asked for duck sauce and Chinese mustard. What I received was to packets of duck sauce and two packets of soy sauce, no mustard to be found. The prepared pork fried rice that was included was the highlight of the meal. I just ordered from here . This is by far the worst food we ever ate . We ordered 2 combos . The wonton soup was tasteless and only 2 wontons per small cup . The steamed dumplings were hard and was salty . I ordered the rib & fried butterfly shrimp . Right into the garbage the ribs were so so salty and the shrimp was bad the egg roll was soggy and the fried rice was hard . The other combo was shrimp with Chinese vegetables, the shrimp had a foul oder and tasted horrendous the vegetables were so hard and no flavor . Up until a year or so ago, I was back in the hunt for a decent Chinese to go restaurant. In the past 30 years, my wife and I have bounce from restaurant to restaurant because when we find a good one, within a year or two they either go downhill in quality or out of business, or both. I'm happy to say that we have Harry Potter Goodwin and so far I have been very impressed with the consistency of the quality and accuracy of the service. Choices are great and no matter what we order the quality is there and the value is too. Seriously people, give this place a try. I don't think you'll be disappointed. read more

We successfully got food from these guys on one of two tries. We found them when looking for delivery options near our new digs. We called, we ordered, we got delivery, we ate, we were happy. The second try, we called and they said that we were too far away for them to deliver, even if they had done it before. Oh well, we found another one that can. That said, the food was pretty good. General's Chicken was not quite what we're used to but was good. Crab Rangoon were pretty crabby, and fried rice was tasty. Ordered food and it was absolutely disgusting. The food had no flavor, pork with black bean sauce was like soup. The pork was all fat and it was more pork with peppers and onions, disgusting. Cashew Chicken was horrible. The fried rice had big pieces of onion, never had this before. Asked if they changed cooks,woman said no. When I told her that food was tasteless, all she could say was "I don't think so". Stay away from this place. They do not take blame. They just take your money. Didn't even offer to replace. We'd just finished 18 holes of golf and I'd already done an hour of yoga and walked 4.7 miles that day. I'm the chef for our foursome while we're here staying warmer than our Ohio homeland. Everyone was hungry and I was not cooking. "Chinese? "I suggested . The China Palm showed up as a good choice and we jumped on it. They delivered to our door at Wyndham Palm Aire....To. Our. Door! Within 30 minutes we were eating terrific hot and well prepared food. Mixed vegetables, beef and broccoli, sweet and sour chicken (the hubs favorite!) imperial delight, seafood delight, egg rolls, crab Rangoon, hot and sour soup all reasonably priced and delicious. The four of us ate til we couldn't put anything else in for $90...tip and tax included. We are very happy snowbirds tonight, but maybe we'll dine at the restaurant and try all new things next time. Been a good customer for 21 years both take out and delivery. Their steak sometimes is a little rubbery but the attitude of the male owner reached an all time low yesterday. I called last week for a delivery and for the first time they would not deliver to me-a 21 year customer unless it was $15-this was the male owner-his wife always did when I was sick. Anyway I called for a pick up yesterday and ordered a favorite and I asked how much it was and I know they raised prices and he quoted me even more this time compared to last week which was higher than a month ago. When I said something he reminded me that I passed on a min $15 delivery for a $10 order-and I always tip. Well I am done with this rude male owner and even called today and the lady owner answered and I told her I was done said goodbye and delted their number after 21 years. The chinese food here is some of the best in the area. I live locally and get takeout quite often over the past year and a half. The food is great, not too heavily breaded and the sauce is not too thick. The best way to describe it, it seems like healthier chinese food. Everything but the duck we have liked so far. Stick to chicken and you can't loose is my experience here and they give you free crab ragoons with orders over $20. I have not eaten in the restaurant but there is usually people in there and they are fast for takeout. read more

The service was fantastic and the prices were reasonable. My husband and I were there for dinner and ordered the dinners. He had chicken lomein and I had honey and garlic chicken. It cost us $19. The meal came with soup, egg roll, fried or steamed rice, main entree and dessert (ice cream). We had water to drink. They had a very large group come in before us, but we had awesome service. I got hooked on China Palm when a coworker brought a huge order of China Palms special house fried rice to a office party! I kept asking where did you get that great fried rice from? Was told China Palm behind the Dollar Tree in the Palm Aire Plaza. Now I have been around that area before & never remember seeing any Chinese, and was told behind. ???? So I set my OnStar to China Palm & It took me there. Have passed by this street for years & you would never know it was there. It is a strip mall behind a strip mall kinda deal, there's a Dunkin Donuts in there somewhere & a CVS. Anyways went there again on lunch break, & wow had that house fried rice again. They do a brisk Chinese take out business as the phone was ringing off the hook while I was eating in the cozy dining room. Super nice Chinese family runs this operation, & I spoke with Mom, Dad, & the kids were quietly on their laptops in the back table. I am sure the lions share of their business is take out orders from the sprawling Palm Aire community, but it was pretty busy in the dining room as well. Highly recommend the fried rice, without a doubt best Fried Rice I've had in SFL. The menu offerings are standard Americanized Chinese take out fare but ohhh soooooo good! Just a really nice place, with nice people, & clean. Hard to find though unless you already know about it! Give them a try, you will be delighted. read more

I usually never write reviews but I just have to brag about this place. This was absolutely the best Chinese food I've had since Ive been living in Florida. If you're from NY then you know nothing compares to NY Chinese restaurants so I was highly surprised. My sister recommended this place to me while I was visiting my mom over the Easter weekend. I honestly didn't think it would be that great but I'm sitting at work thinking about getting some lol. Not only was the food great but the place is cleaner than I expected and service is pleasant and quick. Not to mention they gave us plenty of condiments.
