I have never seen one of these before, and have you moved in the area when you tried? The places didn't exist in the Northwest. I had their roasted chicken. The flavor was simply amazing. It was slow roasted and it looked like it had been smoked with lots of spices. If I were to raise any concerns, it's just that that piece of chicken was awfully small. I think when they roast it for that long it just dries out some and then it shrinks a lot, but it was darn tasty. The service is quite good. The place is clean and you get yourself a free ice cream cone as long as you want to pull it yourself after your meal. read more

Excellent fast food chicken and catfish. The Golden Roast chicken is excellent. The chicken salad is a meal on it's own...tomorrow's lunch. The catfish is everything catfish ought to be. Rolls are sweet bread soft, almost a dessert. Lottazing sauce better with catfish....more dip than sauce. All in all cost was reasonable, fed 4 for 36.00. Parking and exiting was bummer. I tried those sriracha hot/sweet tenders the other day. I was incredibly disappointed. They were cool, hard to bite, and the sauce was so overwhelming, I had to use at least 15 napkins to get through the order. The tenders were mostly breading, mostly overly fried and very difficult to chew. Taking tenders that have been sitting under the heat lamp for hours and covering them with sauce does not make them more edible. The staff was great so that's why I gave 3 stars. read more

After a really hard day Sunday driving down from Fort Worth to visit my mom in the nearby nursing home, with a toddler, we decided to stop at Golden Chick on the way back because they usually have great food. My daughter needed to use a restroom so you tried to go inside and the door was locked between 5:30 and 6:00 p.m.. we went to the drive-thru and ordered a big meal and that included mashed potatoes and coleslaw. They have us pull up because of cars behind us so we did. Somebody runs the food out to us real quick. We drive off and I'm going through the bag there are no utensils to eat with, no napkins, my tea is really gross, which I did not drink when I got home I took the lid off to look at it and it was black really black, and that's after the ice melted in it. Also my coleslaw is still in my fridge waiting for trash day because it was not good at all. My chicken tenders were really scrawny. They didn't even have extra batter on them they were really pitiful. We barely got enough to eat. We had to stop at McDonald's and get a good tea, where we also had to get everything else we needed and to use the restroom. We shouldn't have had to do that. We wasted $20 on your restaurant when we could have gone somewhere much better. The guy working the window was very nice but that's about all we could say. I'm hot hot hot and it's not the weather. I online ordered two chicken salads and a chicken tender kids meal. That's $25.00+ for two bowls of lettuce and two chicken tenders,four packets of salad dressing. Where's the quality control, no one checked to see if the salads were complete???!!! Not good folks. Last night was the most disappointing experience I have ever had at this Golden Chick. I have spent money with them before. I love the family environment that the staff has and the comradery. Food is always hot and never disappoints. Well, until last night. I order thru the drive-thru, and since we both ordered catfish, we were asked to pull around and someone will bring our order out in 5 minutes. After sitting there for 25 minutes, the store cleared out there customers and the staff was standing around talking. I got out of my car and went in to find out what the hold up is with our order. When talking to the young girl at the front counter and I told her my order, she was like "oh, you had the catfish." They didn't bother to ask the manager in the drive thru who the order belonged to. I instantly asked for my refund since my time was wasted. The manager gave me my refund, but didn't offer to make it right by fulfilling the order that should've been to us 25 minutes ago. She said, "I didn't forget about you". REALLY???? Your team did, so in effect, that includes you Ms. Manager. So, no food offered for the inconvenience, and she had the nerve to say, "See you next time." NO. REALLY. YOU ARE NOT SEEING ME NEXT TIME!!! This is a damn shame seeing the have the best catfish in the area. I hate I am even writing this review, because they always seemed nice. read more

Waited 36 minutes for food, there were two of us. The restaurant was not busy on the inside but the drive thru has priority. The food was was it was, it's fast food. The staff isn't helpful to resolve the issue of the extended wait time for dine in, so it's unlikely we will be back. read more

I went to order a 16 pieces family tender meal and wanted to get half and half she got mad and said we don't do that here I then asked her why does your website say that I can she paused then with a snarky remark she told me well that's how you get mostly spicy anyway I guess I can put them in two separate boxes I went to order the rest of my sides and asked for butter and honey for the rolls and she goes are you sure you want that we don't have rolls so she subbed it for a side which was okay and appreciated that until I got to the window I watched her (manager) stand there and talk crap about me ordering what I ordered and she proceeded to dump a ton of spicy seasoning all over the tenders so much so that they are extremely red and almost can't eat them because they are so salty and you can't taste the chicken definitely not impressed with the manager and how she handles any of this hope corporate reads this. The first time I ate here last year, 2 of their employees (who were on duty) had Covid 19 and I had to get tested. This time, it took over 10 minutes to get them to take my order at the drive thru, then I waited 10-15 min more to get my food. This store needs new management and customer service training. Great place. Friendly staff serving freshly made and tasty food from clean kitchen to be eaten in an equally spotless dining area. Kudos to the manager on duty and his excellent staff. Yelped it on the way back to Dallas and took a small detour from IH-35 North into Belton on Saturday afternoon around 2:15. Sure glad we did! Great experience, and will add this location to our list of favorites that we will visit with confidence when traveling South or North on IH-35. (It's always worth an extra 7 or 8 minutes to slow down, stretch your legs, and relax a bit. The rest of the trip home was a breeze thanks to this place.) read more

went in today after seeing a catfish special online for $7.99, went inside to get a to go order and was told they didn't have a special at this time but she'd let me have the special price anyway. I ordered through the drive thru and was told there would be a 7 minute wait on tenders and that they were out of ice. I was asked to pull around front and after waiting more than double the quoted wait time I went inside to ask about my order. I was then told gravy wasn't ready either. When asked why they didn't disclose an accurate wait time, I was repeatedly told the person I was talking to didn't take my order and it wasn't her fault. The service at this establishment has been steadily declining for months and the food just isn't worth all the issues with service and wait times. read more

Good food, but lozy service, Tried to contact Ginger, one of the best managers, who cares, however cannot get the store to answer the phone no matter what time you try to call. normaly good crispy hot chicken and the best fried okra in town, however now te last three times, it was soggy and cold. and the chicken was also cold and noty the usual great chicken we normally get. I cannot understand why a restaurant will not answer thye phone, and when you go by, the dinning room is always closed. so you cannot contact the manager.. normally would give a high rationg but not this time. Fattiest saltiest mess I've ever eaten. So golden chick. ..at least this one isn't as great as it used to be. I do admit the chicken size is massive compared to Popeyes baby chicken drums but gosh it's nothing but nasty slimy FAT!! 3rd time I've been there in the past 6 months same thing...super crispy outside nasty fatty inside. By the time I'm done eating my plate had a huge pile of white glistening fat on it with bones.....gross. oh and not to mention it's so salt! Someone higher up needs to shape this place up!!!! 9 times out of 10, we DO NOT get what we order even though they repeat the order back to us 2-3 times. When we ask them why this keeps happening, the girl told us she had 5 kids & didn't get much sleep. REALLY?!?!?!? One time they confessed they burned our order & had to cook more which wasn't any better. They don't seem to care whether you get your order or not, and it's always a long wait at the Drive thru. Don't order the fish!! I did and got, maybe, 3 millimeters of fish and nearly triple that in horribly greasy breading. At nearly $9 for the meal, I expected better quality. We got it at the drive-thru and didn't see it till we got where we were going. On the way home, I took it in to the manager. He replaced it with chicken tenders, which are always delicious. He did give me unnecessary attitude about it, though. If you're going to show a picture of a good piece of fish on your menu, surprise!
