The Good: Restaurant was open including both the lobby and the drive-thru. Ample parking area, very convenient location off I-35. Ample dining area. 7 employees working the restaurant. It appeared that 2 employees were in training Food was fresh. Lobby was quiet with good music. If you are a US Veteran or a First Responder you MAY ask for discount by presenting PROPER ID. Properly trained service dogs are welcome. The Bad: Even that there were 7 employees and we were next. No one took our order until about 9 minutes from the time we entered. The order was not dispatched until 8 minutes after order was place The bad: Lobby was filthy and for at least the duration of our stay (About 25 minutes) no one came over to clean it.

Didn't drain the grease before bagging.

Picked up breakfast for family. The quality at this place is horrible!! Hashbrown rounds were thrown straight into a container without being drained. Whole bag was soaked through with a pool of grease. I've ordered whoppers before where they've forgotten cheese and the condiments are way too much and messy. You can just tell that there are no standards. With prices going up, it's definitely not worth ordering and receiving such poor quality.

This is the worst Burger King ever! They're so gross! Someone needs to call headquarters in shut this place down. This was my second time coming here and it was gross last time!‍I really wanted to eat something salty and plus I like Burger King french fries but this was a huge mistake! First there was hair on my napkin and then hair on my french fries! I'm just pissed because i'm on a diet and this was my cheat day so I was really looking forward to this being good! F my life....that's what I get for fooling with fast food

Super happy to find a "Use By..." paper tag in my whopper today from the brand new Burger King on W Adams in Temple, TX Bread burnt, not toasted burnt. Didn't have the order ready or correct & then find a paper tag on my tomatoes when i opened my burger to put ketchup on it..... impressive

Isn't there a standard practice of changing out the oil for the fryer? No napkins or condiments offered. Very basic and mediocre service

I was initially disappointed when I opened up my box because it looked like such a thin patty. I regretted not getting a double burger. BUT it turns out the sides of the patty are kind of just pressed thinner which made them nicely crispy and the patty really bulked up in the center. It ended up being a good balance of meat/bun and was the perfect amount of food for me. I ordered a basic cheeseburger, but was very interested in their specialty burgers and will branch out next time. The cheeseburger was exactly what you want in a burger. Great flavor, toppings were well-proportioned. My only complaint is the bun, and it's not reeeeaaallly a complaint. It was just very basic. It tasted like HEB burger buns, which are fine, but even just toasting the buns would have taken it up a notch. Unfortunately, their fryers were down when I visited, so I couldn't try the fries. They also had sliders on their online menu which I was VERY excited about because I love tiny burgers, but it turns out they've modified their menu a lot and removed the sliders and several of their sandwiches. I'm sure they had their reasons, but I was bummed. It was also a bit longer wait than I would have liked. They do grill their burgers to order, so I guess that's the explanation, but it was close to 15 minutes which just felt a bit long to me for a food truck.

Don't trust the menu. So I ordered it. When I got what I ordered I got one meat patty, no cheese, one piece of bacon that was torn in half. For $12 with a medium fry. I was told at the window that I got exactly what I ordered. In retrospect, the picture next to # 10 was not labeled so how confusing and inconvenient can a business be? I'd have paid more for what I expected, however, that menu is misleading and horrendous. Nothing special here, for $12 go to a different burger place for a better value.

Wes's has been my grandpa's favorite burger spot for over 20 years, and for good reason. The service and atmosphere are exactly what you want to see out of a burger spot that knows they have top 3 burgers, and has nothing to hide. The onion rings are a must grab and have all of the attributes from crisp batter to an easy pull apart when you bite in. If you haven't been before, now is your sign to run to Wes's.

The Goodnight Burger is simply a 3 patty burger = 1# of beef. The pickles (& I ordered extra) are very slim & the lettuce isn't plentiful. The meat is the star here, nice to have hearty & fresh ground pressed patties without worrying about thin frozen discs. Buns are decent to hold it all. Wes Teeters, the owner that created the name sake restaurant, has retired & sold it to new owners around Christmas 2025. Tater tots were perfect. Waitresses are very nice & helpful & they fixed my bacon situation but I had to ask. If you try Wes's Sauce, it's like a spicy taco or steak sauce, so go lightly at first. Their healthy option is a populated iceburg lettuce salad bar. I was just too full to take them up on the appreciated invitation for pie dessert. Discounted price for cash payment. They do Temple right with their offerings but I wouldn't say it's a decadent place. It's a hometown cafe catering to the locals & that's all right, it's a decent place. Ample seating room with some old style booths. but the plastic chairs feel cheap. Another long-time Temple gem, Old Jody's, is right across the street & still competitive for business. So you have the choice of 2 similar places within 25 yards of each other. Oh, & Grape Kool-aid for the win!

What BBQ place on the list happens to be open on a Monday (and quite frankly, seven days a week)? Miller's Smokehouse in Belton. Miller's Smokehouse has one of the longest tenures on the Texas Monthly Top 50, making the list four times in a row (the third-highest behind Louie Mueller and Snow's). They've got their business down. As I arrived, I parked in a free parking lot just across the street and got into the line around 12:30. The line moves pretty efficiently, and you order separately from the barbecue line. I think this immediately felt disheartening as a barbecue fan. You kinda expect to get your food while in line and watch the assembly of workers put it together, instead of them being in a separate location in the back giving you order numbers. It doesn't feel like a true Texas barbecue experience and more like a Dickey's Barbecue Pit. Instead of going for a tray, I opted for one of their specialty sandwiches, the El Gallo Picante. It has their spicy hot link sausage and their smoked chicken topped with coleslaw, onions, jalapeños, pickles, and barbecue sauce. I also got a side of their broccoli salad out of curiosity and a roll of their homemade cornbread. I got my drink and sat down with my roll of cornbread. It wasn't long until my tray came to me. The sandwich stood on its own as a behemoth. So much chicken and sausage fell out of the bun. The sandwich was less concerned about being a sandwich and more focused on creating a space to try and contain a mixture of ingredients. It wasn't bad, but it was hard to say anything other than that I felt uninspired by the entire thing. The sausage was fine, the chicken was kinda dry, but everything together with all the separate ingredients masked the meats' faults. The broccoli salad was a unique side that I had never seen before at a barbecue joint, so I wanted to try it. It was cool, but not something I'd get again. As for the cornbread, it was quality, but if that's the most impressive part of the meal, then I'm questioning the establishment's ability to create a good barbecue experience. I think it's so cool to have so many special barbecue places near me and the ability to try so many, but I'm starting to wonder if the places that stay on the list for four editions start to lose their oomph. Do they become complacent knowing they already have their business and are established? Is there any need to try and push the envelope when you're just a recurring guest on top barbecue lists? Is it a me issue? Is it my fault I went to Burnt Bean a week prior and now I'm trying a place that sells all-day barbecue? With your big brick-and-mortar and your TV screen menus, you're not as hungry as you used to be.
