A decent hometown style smash burger . It's a little steep in price in my opinion though for the type of burger you get . The burger is a nice size almost comparable to a Whataburger , in fact I'd call this a "baby Whataburger" . I decided to add a little more items like grilled onion , bacon , and jalapeños so i can't too much complain about the price. The service was pretty good very nice and hospitable people! First off I'll start off with customer service, the cook was very friendly & nice , as goes for the lady very unfriendly, rude & demanding. Food ! Omg I was recommend to this place for Burgers & I will say, it was the worse burgers I ever had. NO SEASONING or FLAVOR what so ever. Okra was not worth the 2$ & change. Now the good part , asked for side of jalapenos & whole pickle. The bag they put the pickle & jalapeños in were not meant to have those things in it. The wetness of the jalapenos & pickle leaked all over the bag causing the bag to rip. Therefore we didn't not get to eat out fries as they fell out the bag. My very first time eating crows burgers & I will say this place is not worth the 45$ ! read more

Hometown friendliness with a taste that can't be beat. Fresh grilled burger patties made to order, not frozen, and make sure you as for num num sauce (it's addicting as all get out). If you want a treat, you'll be delectably ready for a food coma if you add a chocolate shake. Definitely one of my local favs. read more

The owner(in a tight blue shirt, no bra, short brown hair) walked up to our table as we were eating to inform us shes the owner and criticize the way our 85 year old friend parked his truck. Appears like a shed but definitely a great tasting burger, and I would Definitely visit again. I got the double cheeseburger and it was full of flavor. Probably one of the better tasting burgers around town. Only cons about this place is the size of the fries. If you ordered a large don't expect much; in fact I would order another one. Where they lack in fry size they make up with a huge drink. Lady taking the order at the front was kind of short but I left a tip anyways, because I support small businesses. I will say the Belton location is still number ##1 Tip: it is best to call in ahead and skip the wait... but you know that wait is worth a few extra minutes of your precious time to enjoy your self a old fashioned taste of a delicious hamburger ! I know your probably doing keto and a cheat day doesn't include fries but you must the combo works well , fresh hot fries and a sweet Dr Pepper skip those chemicals of a diet drink! I was told this was THE place for a great burger. Hence, one night on the way home, I was craving red meat, and why-the-hells-not take a detour into Belton and find the original Crow's? Welp - it's a really small shack, and I missed it the first time and drove right by it. No inside seating, a picnic table outside, it's mostly drive thru. The girl was real friendly and nice, some of that small town southern hospitality. The menu has combos #1 and #2, or you can get ala carte. I got the #1 combo: Cheeseburger w/ fries and a drink for $7, I think the burger has 2 patties of beef. Oh gee whiz..... She let me substitute a drink for a shake and also let me mix the shakes. They have vanilla, strawberry, chocolate, and - - banana! I got banana + strawberry - - it was great!! The only drawback - - I got a large, and it's HUGE! 32oz. That's alotta ice cream for someone who's lactose intolerant.....uh oh....someone's gonna be in big trouble. Next time a small will do. She upcharged me an extra $2 for the large shake, so my total came to $9. There was some confusion with my order and what I wanted - - I first asked if I could substitute a shake for a drink, she said yes, but she didn't mention and upcharge until I paid. No biggie - - just make sure you clearly communicate your requests and expectations - - that's all. The burger was exceptionally good, I was impressed. I'm sorry, but I gotta say it's a notch better than Jody's because the meat patty is bigger. So if you like more meat, then Crow's is the burger for you. The fries were really tasty too, and overall I think I got an economical deal. Personally - - I think the Crow's Burger in Temple tastes slightly better - - from what I could recall it was the seasoning that did it for me, but I would still go back to the Belton location for sure. I'd support Crow's over Five Guys any day of the week since it's a local business that's family owned. I would have to say they have one of the best burgers in the area - by far, and they have banana shakes too! read more

Et tu, Crow's? The modest little Crow's burger shack has been a great Belton tradition for many years, and a well earned reputation for having a quality burger, the best in Bell County. I don't eat burgers that often these days so it had been a while since my last visit. But on my most recent trip the fries were very blah, most definitely the result of a frozen product. I was really disappointed. The burger was still decent, but just doesn't have the same luster without fresh fries. And the price was pretty high for a local burger joint. I'd gladly pay the price for the REAL Crow's, but that wasn't quite it. They seem to be living on past reputation. C'mon Crows, get some fresh taters and reclaim your past glory! Love the burgers and fries from here but they seem to always get something with my order wrong. For instance I asked for no pickles on my last order and got extra pickles. Also they require you to wear a mask for the drive through I understand safety precautions but I feel it's a bit extreme and have never had this request since the pandemic started. You have to call ahead just to get drive through food and it usually takes them forever to pick up so that can also be inconvenient when you're trying to get it on the way home and have to spend additional time waiting to get ahold of them, if ever possible. read more

My fiancé and I decided to stop here because it's claimed to be one of the best burgers in Belton. While the food was delicious (simple cheese burgers and fries) the service was not the best. Becky was our cashier and the second we pulled through to the window, it was as if we were bothering her. She wasn't very approachable and sounded annoyed with us. My fiancé was polite to her nonetheless because I mentioned she could have just been having a bad day. Until another gentleman came to pickup his food, then it was a complete 180 turn, completed with a smile and her tone just sounded happier. I'm not sure what we did to receive the sort of service we did. And when we had received our food, we didn't even want to ask for ketchup. We just wanted to get out of there. Now, I've never been to the Temple location, but this shack in Belton makes the best burger I've ever eaten in my life. I've searched all over, in America and internationally, for one to rival it, and none succeed. It is perhaps an anachronism. What stands out consistently in this burger is the unparalleled crust on the patty that they obtain from searing on the flat top. It imparts intense umami flavor. The meat patty is hand-formed and irregularly circular with caramelized, craggy edges. This is exceedingly rare in a burger in Texas and therefore the world. Crow's is a national treasure. May it survive and show the world what a traditional burger done well is. I'm on the phone to Michelin now. read more

Hallelujah! Homemade greasy cheeseburger heaven is hidden in this tiny green and white shack. Don't blink, because you might miss this mini hole in the wall eatery hidden behind the Shell gas station set back from the road. Crow's burgers is keeping it real by remaining in the original one room shack instead of upgrading to the cool fancy airstream trailer. The concept is the same. Walk up to window to order, sit and wait on the deck for your order, or creep through the drive thru. There are also little tables set up in a small grassy patch in the parking lot to eat at. Excuse me while I rave passionately about the juicy heavily seasoned meat patti sandwiched between a butter bun and all the toppings. Wait, what's that sound? Do I hear angels singing? The closest burger place I can compare Crow's to is Dan's hamburgers in Austin. Mmm.... Golden salty fries and a thick pineapple milk shake round off any perfect combo. Only negative is that they are closed on Sunday's, but most places are in Belton. Put this down on your treasure map when your hunting for a golden burger. read more

For lunch Friday, June 5, I went to Crow's in Belton on Waco Rd. a nice quaint little shack reminiscent of Sparkles in Houston. This place is quieter since it isn't surrounded by HTown's hustle & bustle. There's plenty of parking space surrounding the shack & even a fairly busy drive thru. About 12:30 the locals come a-runnin' while others like yours truly sit on comfy green benches underneath a covered porch after placing orders. Since room is limited most folks just prefer to return to their vehicles until they're called to fetch their orders. Small town charm exists here at Crow's as evidenced by the elderly couple who sauntered to the picnic tables located in the well maintained lot behind the shack. As a matter of fact, the property was clean with no paper or litter of any kind to be seen! A rare pleasure, indeed. Anyway, this nice Ms. Ole Lady unpacked & spread out a checkered table cloth as Mr. Ole Man made his way to the shack for the lunch to follow. It wasn't long before the other tables were occupied underneath tall trees for a nice care-free small town lunch. It's easy to see & feel how one can get caught up in the laid back lifestyle of the area. It's not about 'having' lunch here. It's about 'enjoying' your lunch here. Not a bad way to spend a few dollars on ANY afternoon! So, let's get to the lunch. From Burnet to Belton I'm beginning to notice a small town Central TX theme: very thin patties! WTH is the deal? I ordered the #3 (Classic burger, fries & drink) at a cost of about $8.50. With order in hand, off to the car I went. Comparison time and the fries, while plentiful, were of average taste at best - nothing spectacular; won't scare McDonald's or put them out of business. Now to the burger. Honestly, when I first saw the bun it looked like someone stepped on it. The bun looked flat, like it needed some air in that tire. That's another CenTX theme - flat buns! What gives? It's like a chick with no booty. Well, no turning back now so hopefully it tastes better than it looks. I was crossing my fingers at that point. Now I had arrived to at least one positive - lots of veggies. Crisp lettuce, onions, lots of pickles & mustard which was great but it overwhelmed "flat patty"! Swear to goodness, I almost went Sarah Peller by asking "where's the beef". The thing was thin! Was I at Storm's? No way, man! Suffice it to say I'm not a fan of the presentation of CenTX burgers. Be that as it may, it was a nicely seasoned 'tasty' one. Looks, in this case, were deceiving however, the burger just looked "bad". Something wasn't right here because the burger seemed like it was slapped together. I snapped pics for evidence. Halfway through my burger, it started to take on the appearance of a panini. But it was a good panini, I guess. But the taste was not spectacular. It's not something that will standout for me. No doubt about it, I must add other categories to my "Burger Run List" - Presentation and Overall Verdict. I guess my meal was okay. Of course, had I known about how mundane was the food there's nothing that would indicate I would go out of my way for something this average as per a recent online burger article/blog. The person/people who wrote that article probably can't tell the difference between a cow chip and a potato chip. After Crow's, I made a day of it in Belton since I was enthralled with the gorgeous County Courthouse bldg. I needed to salvage the day. With camera in tow, I was a typical tourist and loved it. To escape the heat, I wandered into a local shop and struck up a chat with some of the locals. Burger was one of the topics and most of the folks agreed Crow's was top notch - sort of. I had to know more. Why the 'so-so' verdict if Crow's is supposed to be all that? Well, basically, it's a lack of options in the region. The big franchises rule but a local place like Crow's can go flat patty & no booty and still do well. Why? Like one shop owner told me rather bluntly "it's all there is around here". Their complaints would have been surprising had it not been for the meal being fresh on my mind, eyes & tummy. Everyone tires of the predictable. It's another choice, so to speak. Like any other place, people get used to what's around them. Complaints would fall on deaf ears so why say anything at all. Armed with this new information I reassessed my views. It also helped to again inspect the photos of my meal. Okay, 1 thumb's up is Good/Average; 2 thumbs up equals Very Good and 3 thumbs up equals You Gotta Try This! One thumb's down is Bad; 2 thumbs down is Terrible; 3 thumb's down equals F**K this place, I've wasted my time and money! So now my new and improved verdict is in: for taste 1 thumb's up ; value = 2 thumbs up The ambiance gets a 2nd thumbs up for value; Presentation of Food - 3 thumbs down; Overall Verdict - Pass this joint up!
