I had trouble creating an account on their website and when I emailed Rachelle, she was very helpful in creating the account for me on her end. When I had questions regarding their order form online, I called and Edward picked up. He was extremely patient and answered every question I had. Today, we made an order for a courier to come pick up a last minute deliverable and deliver it to a client by 4pm in Oakland. 30 minutes before the driver was supposed to come, I had to call Gold Rush to push the time back. We ALWAYS seem to underestimate the time it takes to get things done!! Thankfully, Edward was very kind and said he will let his driver know. The driver came around 1:55pm and I asked him to wait a bit. He waited over 15 minutes without complaining! We do feel extremely bad as we know that he has other packages to deliver. I would definitely recommend Gold Rush Express Delivery. They're professional, they always answer the phone, and they provide fast, friendly service at very reasonable prices. Their drivers wear uniforms and show ID. They also accept all major credit cards including American Express. AND they deal in just about any size package. It doesn't need to be a prissy little envelope. I called soooo many other couriers in the Santa Clara area. I got answering machines or no answer at all. Places that only courier legal documents. Places that don't accept credit cards -- check only. Is this 2013 or not? One place would only deliver to an airport -- what?? an airport? Anyway, save yourself some time. Just call Gold Rush Express and forget about all the others. I would use them even if all I had were legal documents. I was actually having a suitcase and briefcase picked up from one location and delivered to another. Gold Rush didn't mind. They didn't flinch. They simply did what I needed them to do. These guys completely just saved my butt! Fedex was given a package and shipping info to send a package to Anchorage, AK, instead they sent it to my old address in Sunnyvale, CA! Gold Rush Express was able to go to my old address pick up the package, re-tape it up and take it back to Fedex! read more

Gold Rush unfortunately failed to show up to deliver an urgent package. I placed an online order the day before to have a package delivered from San Francisco to Sunnyvale by 10am the next morning. I waited outside for the driver at 8am, and no one showed up or contacted me to let me know what time they'd be there. Over the course of the morning, I had to call Gold Rush 4 times to get updates on where the driver was. By 9:30, when STILL no driver had shown up, I canceled my order, as anyone familiar with Bay Area traffic knows you can't get from SF to Sunnyvale in 30 minutes. I'm very disappointed in the quality of service and lack of communication, and I would not recommend that anyone use this service. read more

I contacted these guys on Friday to request a price quote for courier service. I talked to Doug and the request was super simple - pick up three items, put them in a box, and mail them to me. Doug gave me a price and I agreed on it. He emailed me a confirmation with the price that we agreed to. On Tuesday, I called Gold Rush to let them know that the items are ready for pickup. I asked if Doug is there and the guy who answered said "no". I asked if he will be in today, "no". I asked if there's someone else who can help me and I was told someone will call me back. I waited an hour and nobody called back. I called again and talked to someone else. He told me that the price that Doug quoted me was wrong and the service will cost more. I said that you're being flaky and I don't like businesses that are flaky. Once you agree to the price you can't change it. I told him that Doug gave me the price. He then informed me that Doug no longer works for the company. I asked how it's possible that Doug quoted me a price if he doesn't work there, and he told me that Doug's last day was Friday. So Doug literally quoted me a price and then quit. I told him that this is REALLY REALLY flaky and they're making me very nervous. He put me on hold and came back and said he'll honor the price that Doug quoted me. I asked if they can get the items today (at this point, it's 9am). He said they're too busy and will have to do it tomorrow. I was surprised that they can't do it since a courier service is supposed to be able to deal with same-day deliveries. He said he'll have to call me back to schedule it. I called again in the afternoon and asked if they can do the pickup first thing Wednesday morning and he said that's fine and would call me back with the confirmation number. I never got a call back. I called first thing Wednesday morning and asked if they have picked up my items. The person I talked to seemed to have no record of any scheduled pickup. He looked up my name, phone number, and pickup address and couldn't find it in his computer. He said a supervisor would call me back in 20 minutes. I waited an hour and still nobody called me back. If you're keeping track, that's 4 times that they said they'd call me back and never did. It boggles the mind that a courier company could be this inept. If they can't handle something as super-simple as returning a phone call or scheduling a pickup, they don't deserve to be in business. read more

I love that I can schedule either online or over the phone. Amazing service! My company wanted to send a box of goodies to another company, and we wanted it done the same day. Called them up and put in my order. Within an hour of putting the order in, they came and picked up the package from our office. The girl who picked it up was very nice and professional. 30 minutes later and the package was delivered! After having a miserable time trying to UPS to pick up a pair of glasses I left at a hotel these guys came through for me rather well. However, they did not stick to the time frame. They were an hour late due to construction. I get it but I payed an extra $50 for the two hour service and not for the three hour service. I should have received some money back to reflect the service level received. read more

I was pleased with the responsiveness of the staff answering the phone and via e-mail when requesting a quite and scheduling my service. The delivery driver was attentive, friendly and careful with my furniture which arrived in fine condition. Where they didn't meet my expectation was on timing and proactive communication with me. On both occasions they were an hour late and no one contacted me to let me know. Fortunately, I had a flexible schedule each time so it wasn't a problem but on a typical day, this would have presented a real problem. So, while I would recommend Gold Rush Express, if I were to use their service again, I would want assurance they could meet the requested time window. read more

Gold Rush Express delivered my 3-tier wedding cake for me on the day of my wedding. It was so important to me that it be delivered on time and that they drive carefully without any stops in between (so they cream cheese frosting didn't melt). Frank was great to work with. I booked a 2 hour delivery at the last minute and they came through on time even despite rush hour traffic! I have no idea how they did it. There were issues with the pick-up that were out of their control, but they waited for the issues to be resolved and were very on top of supporting the resolution. It's two hours before a pharmacy in San Jose closes, and my son is flying out from New Mexico for a business meeting the next morning. He needs a prescription filled and delivered to his hotel. I called Gold Rush, gave them my cc information and pickup location, then I went to a rehearsal with loud drumming and couldn't hear my phone ringing. The pharmacy was trying to reach me because my credit card wasn't going through. Gold Rush waited for 20 minutes in that pharmacy while they tried to reach me. The pharmacy was great, too. They released the prescription to Gold Rush understanding that it was urgent and trusting me to call them back with another cc number. Great experience all around. read more

There were here in 15 minutes to pick up the package around 2:30p and had it delivered before 4pm. They also sent communication of pickup and delivery. It doesn't get any better than this. read more
