I've gone to Glendora public market several times but this was the first time I've tried gold banh. And I am so glad that I did! I ordered the chicken bowl with vermicelli and salad with peanut sauce. It was delicious and will definitely be my new go-to item!
SGV Passport sent us here. No sigbsge on the side if building so had to do a u-turn. Was Saturday night and on Yelp says they close at 8pm...we saw lights still on so decided to call they said they close at 9pm. Passport gave us a free drink and two eggrolls. Drink was ok not too sweet. Think it was a pink lemonade (?) eggs rolls not the same size so maybe home made?? They were not piping hot nor crispy i would have liked some sauce. Ordered a half portion pastrami banh mi $18.99 They sell three types of pastrami banh mi full portion pastrami was about $30! Sandwich was ok. We ate it, but didn't feel like we need to drive 16 miles to go again. When i told employee i went on yelp and suggested they fix the posted hour closing Saturday to 9pm vs 7pm he didn't seem to care or appreciate it....oh well,
Everything other reviewers said is correct the best pastrami banh mi I've ever had. The meat was lean flavorful and all the ingredients in the gold standard made it delicious. Definitely a must return.
Located inside the Glendora Public Market. It was pretty empty when I went, so there was plenty of seating. PASTRAMI: 5/5. Is it authentic banh mi meat? No. Is it thick, juicy, tender perfection? Yes. I ate this four days ago and have thought about it. Every. Single. Day. Since. I'm getting the full pound next time. SAIGON: 4/5. I'm sure this one is amazing in its own right, but it definitely paled in comparison to the pastrami for me. Look at that layer of butter though?? If it's not at least this thick, I don't want it.

Was getting my dog groomed down the street and decided to go to the Glendora Public Market. Since the Public Market is huge, I didn't know what to eat. I was about to eat tacos but saw the long line for this place then got curious. Food: Incredible! I got the Pastrami Banh Mi and I never had anything like it. I feel like the OG toppings for the Banh Mi paired really well with the pastrami. It was also pretty packed. I only ate half and gave the other half to my partner. I also tried the calamansi lemonade and loved how it tasted refreshing! Service: Awesome. The two staff members who helped me from making my sandwich to ringing me up had an awesome attitude and my overall experience great. Ambiance: Can't really say much since it's in the Public Market but their food station looked very neat and clean! Overall, need to take my partner here because he was also very intrigued with the sandwich and indulged in it as much as me :)
This is in a food hall, so be prepared for that. It's open and airy and the noise level is above average at times. Tom's Famous Pastrami $18.99 - they asked if I wanted a half pound or a full pound. I can't imagine eating an entire pound. I wonder if they charge more, though? I didn't ask! It's not thinly-sliced pastrami, btw, if you're expecting something like Jolly Jug or the Hat. To make it a combo, it was another $5.99 for two fried spring rolls, sweet and spicy dipping sauce, and a canned soda. I went back for breakfast and tried their Good Morning Sando $8.50 and a Tom's Viet Coffee for $5.49 Everything was pretty substantial and filling. I don't think the value is there for the prices, because there are other establishments where inflation creep brought the PoP (Price of Pastrami) to $10, but ~$20 is getting wild. Plus tip I can see an individual meal costing nearly $40. If it's payday and you feel like splurging, come try this!

The flavors were incredible, the bread was perfectly fresh, and everything just worked together so well. It was so good that I honestly can't imagine ordering anything else whenever I come back. I usually don't finish an entire sandwich, but this one was impossible to put down, I ate every last bite! The sandwich came with homemade chips, which were delicious and the perfect side. This spot is located inside the Glendora Public Market. The staff were nice and friendly, ordering was quick and easy, and the space was clean and tidy. I'll definitely be back for another Banh Mi Pastrami sandwich!

I don't usually chase viral foods but if you put banh mi and pastrami together, you got me! Gold Banh is located within the Glendora Public Market and has ample parking available in the lot. There are some seats inside but I came here to grab a few banh mi to-go. I went closer to 5:00 PM and was lucky to see a small line at the time. For the pastrami banh mi, I added garlic butter (extra - $2), the "gold standard" for the toppings, and half pound. Since I was sharing, I decided to get a crispy pork belly banh mi with garlic butter and gold standard as well. The first thing I noticed right away was that both banh mi were HUGE. There was no question that the portion was shareable. When it came to the pastrami, this was honestly really good. In comparison, the pork belly was slightly underwhelming. It wasn't really that crispy versus other places that I've tried. Overall, if I had the craving, I think the Pastrami banh mi is worth revisiting. However, I'll skip out on the garlic butter next time. The banh mi also leans more towards the expensive side. American Express is accepted here.
My coworkers and i have been closely following Gold Banh for several weeks and were able to meet up for lunch at the Glendora location. I ordered the 1 lb Tom's Famous Pastrami banh mi. It lived up to all the hype. The combinations of flavors is unique. Very different in a good way. The pastrami is premium grade, hand sliced, navel smoked pastrami. $19 for a 1/2 lb. $29 for a full pound. The food court is very nice. Free parking. Nice comfortable dining hall. Friendly staff. Well managed. Premium ingredients. Reasonable prices. Check out my pics. O ordered a 1/2 lb pastrami sandwich on rye to take home. I highly recommend Gold Banh Glendora.
Don't be discouraged by the line. It moves pretty quickly and there's a reward at the end. The reward is a 1lb (or 1/2) pastrami banh mi that will blow your mind. New York has Katz, SoCal has Gold Banh!
Omg this is our new favorite eating place! The pastrami banh Mi was good, but the pork crispy pork belly is the best! The nice guy let me pick out the pork belly piece. A must try. The pastrami is either a half a pound or a whole pound in your sandwich, that's a lot of meat.
My husband has been craving a quality pastrami sandwich and social media brought us to try Gold Banh. We have had hit or miss experiences with social media recommendations, but Gold Banh lived up to the hype for us. They definitely have a strong following with a line to show for it. We had a great first visit and have been back once since then. Gold Banh is located in the Glendora Public Market. There is free parking designated for the Public Market. There is also plenty of tables chairs inside the Public Market for people to enjoy their food on site. As noted above, the Gold Banh line can get very long to order, however, the staff does an excellent job of fulfilling orders quickly and accurately. Our order consisted of: - a Full No. 47 Pastrami Special - the summer rolls: Pork Belly and two pastrami The pastrami was perfection. So good and my husband was thrilled to have a quality, tender, and flavorful pastrami sandwich. It was obvious they know what they're doing. The proteins in the summer rolls were also tasty. Light, but just the right amount of protein and fixings to make it filling. Pricing for the pastrami sandwich is a little high, but the quality and taste are justifiable. Needless to say, we are a fan of Gold Banh. We don't live close to the Glendora area, but it would definitely be our new spot to catch a fantastic pastrami sandwich if we find ourselves close by. If you're reading this and trying to debate about whether to stop by; yes, absolutely do it. read more
The hype is real. Finally made it out to Gold Banh in Glendora, and I can see what all the talk is about. I tried Tom's Famous Pastrami and it was an easy 10/10. The way the flavors of a traditional banh mi come together with that luscious, smoky, perfectly steamed pastrami is just awesome. It's one of those sandwiches where every bite makes you want another. I also tried the #47, which was an 8/10. Really good sandwich, but for me, it's still a step below Langer's #19. Overall, Gold Banh definitely lives up to the hype. I'll be back for sure. read more

Located at the Glendora Marketplace, Gold Banh offers something for everyone. I had the steak Banh Mi sandwich, big enough for two. I also got their chips, made in-house. The sandwich is chocked full of steak and fresh veggies. I spiced mine up with jalapeños. It was just perfect. read more

Really nice Bahn Mi shop in the Glendora Marketplace. Ample free parking in the attached lot. Service was quick and friendly. Luckily not much of a line on a Monday at noon. Got their Pork BBQ Bahn Mi, with their standard recommended preparation, which was great. Their Pastrami Bahn Mi is fantastic. Half pound would be a regular meal for most, but if you have a huge appetite, the pound of meat would be recommended. This sandwich is quite pricy (18.99 for half, but a bit more than $30 for full pound). Viet coffee was good. Strong and not overly sweet, can't complain. Overall a pricy Bahn Mi place, but not truly fair to compare to standard Vietnamese places as the meat quality here is VERY high and much more than you'd get elsewhere (esp a comparison to Lee's where you can sometimes get a single sliver of thin meat on a bad day). read more

Wow this sandwich does not disappoint. Came here on Saturday and ordered the lb pastrami sandwich. She cut the thick meaty slices and filled up a small metal bowl. Then she topped it with carrots, cilantro, cucumber and all the meat in the bowl. Absolutely worth 30 will be getting it again. The customer service is amazing. They are fast, friendly and courteous. The environment will have you full visually as theirs a lot of different restaurants. So if your smart come in with a group of people so you can try all at once. read more

Decent. The ingredients were quality for most part. The bread wasn't that good. The menu is kind of confusing and ordering is weird/hard. I got the no 47 special with a full lbs of pastrami. Came out to about 35 total, which isn't a bad value considering it's a lbs of brisket. read more

This location is inside the Glendora Marketplace. They are open 7 days a week from 7AM to 8PM for breakfast lunch and dinner. The breakfast sandwiches have eggs, sausage or steak. Lunch and dinner menu is the same (Sandwich, Salad or Summer Rolls). I ordered the Char Siu Pork Bahn Mi sandwich $9.75, plus a combo of chips and a soft drink for $4.99 extra. The bread was toasted and outstanding, a slight crunch on the outside and soft and fluffy inside. The Gold Standard filling was the best part (cucumbers, cilantro, daikon radishes, and carrots) with pate and aioli dressing. Other protein options are Chicken, Sausage Spam, Shrimp, and Tofu. The most popular protein is the Pastrami. It looked so good, I'm still drooling over it and bookmarking this spot for a return visit. Was always curious about this place because of their pastrami banh mi so decided to grab it for dinner. One word to describe the sandwich is one bomb sandwich. The pickle veggies and pastrami go so well together. All the flavors balance each other and were really good. I got the 1/2 pastrami sandwich to share but next time I won't be sharing. Parking in a food hall is never the easier but there is extra parking down the stairs at the Bank of America. read more

First time trying the viral pastrami banh mih! This place was the only place in there with a long line so ya know it has to be the spot! Waited around 30-35 mins in line so be prepared to wait & don't come starving haha We finally got up to the front & got 2 pastrami (full) banh mihs cause my boyfriend can eat so he wanted his own lol they pack it in with quality pastrami so I was pretty pleased by that cause the sandwiches were stacked! I was a little disappointed they ran out of garlic butter cause I wanted to add that one to our buns, so I guess I'll have to come back to try it that way! I will say they were pricey @ $30 a sandwich so be prepared to spend. Was very pleased with everything! The sauces on the side the aju & the cilantro green sauce were the 2 go too's! Must get the green it was delicious with each bite! The sandwich was incredible just as I had hoped. I saved my half for my work lunch the next day & just as yummy warmed up! My boyfriend was jealous I still had some to eat the next day haha We barely made it before sell out cause maybe 10 mins after we ordered, I seen them put up the sign "they were out of pastrami" & the times to come back to come grab some! So very happy that didn't happen to us while we were in line (: Glendora public market was cute, found seating right away but I can see it being busy. Parking lot was a bit small & chaotic so that was the only downside of the market. read more
I love a good pastrami sandwich, and I also enjoy a good banh mi sandwich. So this was a no brainer if I was somewhat close to go and try it. Well....pastrami and banh mi DO NOT GO TOGETHER!! sorry for my honest opinion. Pastrami by itself was good. But it just doesn't mesh well with the other flavors. The service also wasn't very pleasant. The staff wasn't friendly at all! Especially the girl who made the sandwiches....she seemed like she didn't want to be there. read more
Overhyped to be honest. Their baguette rolls used for the Banh Mi Sandwiches are crisp yet soft. Their green cilantro-tasting sauce is perfect for adding onto the sandwiches. I think each sandwich or the ones I've tried (The Basic, Grilled Chicken) need more veggies in them stat. Also, I recently tried the Grilled Chicken Banh Mi and it had l fatty edges on each piece of grilled chicken. I guess that's how the meat comes packaged for them or not, but I didn't like it much so I was removing the fatty edges off each grilled chicken piece. And yeah this sandwich needed more veggies too. There are better Vietnamese sandwich spots out there. read more
I seem to keep coming back for more! This place had been solidly dependable and the consistency of the food quality and service have not diminished. This time around, I tried the garlic rice and greens bowl with the pork belly. I found it even more refreshing than the rice paper rolled version. Same price, but less meat. Gold Banh is a restaurant known for their pastrami Banh Mi. At first I was skeptical of the idea, but I remember the Vietnamese put any type of meat in their sandwich. I love matcha. Their Tom's famous pastrami was very good and like other reviews the price does lean toward the expensive side. If you like good pastrami and banh mi then I would definitely recommend you try Gold Banh if you are here at the Glendora Market hall. I love matcha. :^) read more

Gold Banh has a delicious crispy pork sandwich. Their bread is on the crispier side and not as fluffy on the inside. Of all the crispy pork sandwiches, I've had eaten. I don't remember any putting pate with crispy pork. However, still good. Just not what I'm used to. The service was simple. Like a cafeteria style, you order, get called up for your food and sit in a beautiful communal dining hall. read more

Located inside Glendora Public Market, there's plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Nice environment to hangout, or go see other stores as well. They're set up cafeteria style so you can really customize your sandwiches or spring rolls. I ordered the pastrami and pork belly banh mi. Pastrami sandwich 10/5 - they're not lying about the 14 hour slow roast. It is so juicy and tender, you can see the juices when they're literally cutting the meat in front of you. You have a choice between 1/2 or 1 lb sandwiches. We got the 1/2 lb and it was more than enough meat tbh. It's paired with the usual pickled vegetables of a normal banh mi but they also include mustard aioli which is out of this world, with pate and pickled onions. You also have the choice to have this with regular or garlic bread. Lots of way you can make this sandwich your own. This is probably one of the best sandwiches I've had in a long time! Pork belly sandwich 5/5 - pork belly is delicious, crispy and everything and more you can ask from a banh mi but next to the pastrami sandwich it's a little outshined. I think the secret is their mustard aioli and pate that they serve with the sandwiches. It's so addicting! But still regardless a solid choice and delicious sandwich. Best sandwich in town for sure! Do yourself a favor and try the pastrami banh mi when you're here. read more
I saw that the pastrami banh mi was not available and I was so disappointed. Everyone was asking for it. I ordered a crispy pork instead. I saw the man before me with a steak banh mi. The staff filled the meat over the bowl. They put the meat in the bowl before putting in banh mi. But for me, the crispy pork was 3/4 filled up to the bowl. Another disappointment there. I would not come back here. It would be a waste of effort to come and pastrami banh mi isn't available in the middle of the day. read more

The sandwiches are good, but don't think it's something I'd wait in a long line for again. We got the 1/2 lb pastrami and the crispy pork belly sandwiches. The 1/2 lb was a good idea, because the full pound is massive, unless you're sharing. While I enjoyed the textures from the protein, taste wise, I felt like something was missing. Looking back, I should have added one of their sauces. The baguette bread was very crunchy, but it was also a bit hard to chew. I wanted to get one of their drinks but out of the 5 they had, they only had 1 or 2 left, and this was at about 1pm on a Saturday. read more
I was preparing to be underwhelmed when I took a bite of their pork belly Bahn mi and boy was I pleasantly surprised! It is richly textured and flavored - the crackling skin and juicy meat of the pork belly contrasted beautifully with the crunchiness of the bread. The taste of the veggies complemented the meat perfectly. The service was top notch. Folks here are very patient. They actually guide and help you understand their menu. Their recommendations are solid. Trust them! The next time I'm here I will order those rice rolls but with pork belly as the meat. I'm not sure what they do with it to make it taste that magical, but whatever sorcery it is, I can't wait to have it again! read more

Parking: There is a parking lot but it's on the smaller side. During peak times it's going to be tough to find parking. It would be better to find parking on the street to not stress yourself out. Word of caution the spaces are compact. Inside: The place is located inside of the Glendora Public Market. If you are coming from the front entrance the place is located towards the right corner to the back. If you are coming in from the side entrance from the parking lot it is located to your right. Service: The wait time can be long as they are currently training their employees. You can be waiting anywhere from 30 mins to 1hr+ but luckily I only waited 45 minutes. I went on a Sunday around 2:45 PM. If you're impatient and hungry then I would say this place is not for you. Tom's Famous Pastrami: I got the pastrami bahn mi on original bread. You can choose between 1/2 lb or 1 lb of pastrami. You can have your bread as it is or you can add garlic butter for extra. They recommend sauces/toppings with it which they call the "Gold Standard." It comes with garlic aioli, pate, mustard, mustard seeds, cilantro, pickled carrots and daikon and pickled onions. If not feel free to choose your own toppings. I decided to get the "Gold Standard" because the sandwich wizards know the best and if they didn't why would they recommend it. Honestly the sandwich looked so good, but I expected more. I went in open minded because it's not a traditional bahn mi place, but a fusion. However, I started to get sus when I saw the "Gold Standard" they recommend to get with the sandwich. The recommended toppings came with two doses of mustard condiments and two pickled items. I thought it was a bit crazy for one single sandwich. Nevertheless I did not question their master making sandwich skills and went with what they recommended. Because who am I to question a sandwich master. Sadly future me would be disappointed. I ate the bahn mi and was fairly disappointed. The crazy double mustard and double pickled items messed me up and most of all it messed up all the flavor. I could only taste mustard and pickled juices between two crispy slices of baguette bread. My mouth was confused. I left the place sad and smelling sour. I got to give it to them though the items on their own were great. The meat was tender and juicy, but needed a bit more salt to be honest. Not my kind of bahn mi sandwich, but to each their own. Overall: After trying out the sandwich, I would say this is not my kind of place. I paid $20+ to try the sandwich once and that's good enough for me. Friendly service and absolutely delicious bahn mi!! My husband and I saw the TikTok highlighting the Pastrami Bahn Mi, and because we're locals, we had to come try it! My husband ordered the 1 lb Pastrami and I ordered the Beef Steak. The bread was perfectly crisp on the outside and soft and chewy inside. The Pastrami was incredibly tender and flavorful. The steak was also delicious, perfectly seasoned. Both sandwiches were fricken fantastic. Bahn mi is one of those types of sandwiches that I crave, and these will be the top of my list. This is an absolute must stop! Located inside the Glendora Public Market, this spot serves a Pastrami Sandwich that I dare say rivals or even beats Canter's Deli. It is easily the best sandwich I've had in years. They offer half pound and full pound options. I highly recommend going for the full, simply because... why not? It's packed with flavor and tender. The vibe is Asian fusion meets delicious and the staff was beyond friendly and helpful. Any place putting out this quality of food deserves praise. It was just that Monday. We were completely sold out of everything due to how busy the weekend was. We had to prep everything in the morning and waited for our delivery for our ingredients to arrive.
