I recently hired SImple Elegance for our first holiday party in our home and it was the best decision ever. I worked with Amber, who was lovely - super on top of all communication and very patient with all of my questions leading up to the event. She arrived on time for set-up, and brought the most delicious food for our event with perfect little signs and menus for our guests. We served appetizers at 5pm and dinner at 6pm, and Amber assured me that the food would stay warm for both courses on the sternos and equipment provided and she was absolutely right. The food was warm for HOURS at the party, which made everyone want to go back for 2nds and 3rds. They make clean-up so easy too where all you have to do is empty out the equipment and make sure there isn't any food inside, no washing or rinsing required. Portions were super generous and the food was sooo yummy. We have a bunch of really good chefs in our friend group and honestly, everyone was super impressed. My favorite items on the menu were the fiesta chicken endive salad, loaded potato bites, pretzel bites, goat cheese and sundried tomato crostinis, chicken breast in sundried tomato sauce, garlic mashed potatoes, and the pan seared tenderloin tips (basically our whole menu LOL). Although mini cupcakes were not listed on her menu, she was able to provide them. Also, you can ask her about gluten free desserts. You can have more than just macarons. Compliments I received... Henry was so easy to work with, my wife and I were wondering if we missed any important planning steps. Haha. It took just a few emails to get a quote, secure the date, and finalize the menu. Henry and his son showed up at the park exactly when he said he'd be there, and the food was cooked on premise, exactly on time. Henry sources all the ingredients from Costco and buys everything needed the day before. I'm a huge fan of all things Kirkland. Always solid quality and value. The mom and uncle of the owner showed up early to set up and start cooking. They were professional, kind, and very friendly. I was stoked that they cooked everything fresh on site and didn't just have food in warmers. We got to choose among proteins and veggies, and the salsa bar was awesome. Kids and adults alike really enjoyed the churros too! They boxed up all leftovers after the event, so we ate tacos for leftovers and froze a bunch too for later. The only thing one of my friends said was that paying extra for salad wasn't worth it because the salad was just from a bag. Everything was delicious, and I ate too much! The biggest hits from Havana were definitely the poblano mac and cheese, lechon, and the paella. Honestly, the mac and cheese was the standout. The driver called me ahead of time, brought everything in, and set it all up. He opened the trays with gloves, added sauces, arranged everything nicely, and even put out utensils and labels.
