Ahhh, so good!! I was getting lunch with a friend in the area and found Goku on Yelp, initially skeptical of the words "hibachi" and "express" in the name. What I should have more wary of was the neighborhood. Kind of a sketchy area. Anyways, both words were very descriptive, and the food was actually plentiful and delicious! I ordered the Steak & Shrimp Combo at the main counter. There's a limited number of options, but more really isn't needed. My steak was medium rare (perfect) and for the base, I got both Fried Rice and Noodles. The included sauces perfectly compliment everything - including the grilled vegetables. I'll definitely be coming back to get more plates to split between lunch and dinner.
My review is based on take out- we got the chicken & chicken + steak as teak out and both were delicious! We had to pay for the sauce which was unfortunate but they did add extra sauce to our order which I appreciate! Unfortunately there wasn't as much protein in the meal as what you would get if you dined in. However, the food was incredible! It didn't feel too heavy and comes with a lot of rice. When I picked up the food, the service was quick and pleasant and the place looked clean as well! Went on a Friday night and did not have any issues getting my food- the place did not seem crowded at all so I feel you can get away without a reservation and walking in. My only complain would be the protein, rice proportion but the food and service were incredible!
Went here couple days ago it was so good & It was busy I would call before going (for pick up order) 10/10
It's a bit of a hole in the wall. The food was very super tasty and would highly recommend, but not somewhere I would probably sit and eat. Great choice if you're going to grab your food to go or order delivery! Lacks atmosphere. 5 stars just for the food alone!
Food was absolutely delicious! The fried rice was excellent and vegetables were flavorful and crunchy! Can't ever go wrong with extra yum yum sauce (Large size) but they do give you a small complimentary. The staff were friendly and courteous and service was fast and efficient. It's a small restaurant but they've got a few tables to dine-in. Coolest part is getting to watch the owner cook your meals for you! Location is a bit sketch as it's next to a big open field and behind a bus stop. It can be a little difficult to reach (depending on what side of the road you're on) but that doesn't take away from this hidden gem and the delicious hibachi! It's nice to not have to drive into the heart of Aurora to get some good Asian food.
We came here for dinner on a Saturday night. We were a bit reluctant to eat here because the neighborhood didn't seem too safe with a lot of loiters outside. We thought why not since it had great reviews and were so happy we stayed. You order as soon as you get in and seat yourself. This establishment is a bit smaller but luckily we went right before it got busy. The littles loved that the cook prepares the food right in front of you. We tried the chicken, steak and shrimp. Everything tasted great. We'll definitely try this place again when we're in the area.
Fast food restaurant atmosphere. Pretty tasty and healthier side for fast food. Affordable hibachi - Japanese style grilled food. They serve their food in to-go containers for in store dining too and it's convenient as you can take any leftover food in container that was served in.
This was my first time eating here. It was so delicious. I had the Hibachi Chicken which was perfectly cooked. The vegetables were tender. I really enjoyed the flavor of the noodles. Their yum yum sauce is perfection. I highly recommend givinf this place a try. I will definetely be coming back. Best meal I have had rhis year. My niece who is a picky eater loved the food. She even went up to the cook and complimented tge food. She has neverbdone this and we eat out at restaurants a lot.
Hidden gem for sure! If you are craving hibachi without the 3hr long service and flames in your face, this is the place! Food was delicious, service was quick, restaurant is clean and you can watch the chef cook from behind the counter. Location is not ideal right off Colfax next to a bus stop with people lingering about but we never felt unsafe. Will be going back for sure!
Paying homage to none other than Son Goku! This Aurora staple is a hidden gem .. well atleast it used to be hidden lol everyone needs to stop by and get some Hibachi. The food is made fresh in front of you! The owners are first class and the food is spectacular. 10/10 highly te read more

I did a quick pickup order, so I can't speak too much on the dine-in service, but pickup was easy and straightforward. I tried the Hibachi Shrimp & Ribeye with fried rice and gave it a 6.5/10. It was decent, but the fried rice just wasn't doing it for me. Also... only 5 shrimp for the price?? I feel like we could've gotten at least 6 lol. I also got the Chicken & Shrimp with white rice (forgot to take a pic ) and that was definitely the better choice -- 8/10! The white rice paired with everything way better. The veggies were really good, 9/10, and the regular Yum Yum sauce was an 8/10. The Spicy Yum Yum though??? 0/10 absolutely horrible, definitely skip that one. Overall, I'd order again, but I'm sticking with the Chicken & Shrimp with white rice next time! read more

I work at a hospital and it has 4 entrances and can be challenging to get a delivery at the entrances closest to where we work but the driver was great and called to clarify making it easy and fast!! The food tasted just like if you sat at the hibachi table! The steak and shrimp were cooked perfectly and seasoned well and NOT too salty! Veggies had a slight crunch but weren't raw and again lightly seasoned! The yum yum sauce well.... There is a reason it's called yum yum!!!! With wa h meal a side of ginger sauce and one yum yum is included in your order. Get an extra for good measure! So good! Will be ordering from here again for sure!!! read more

We ordered ahead on grub hub to go pick up - and were told about 40 minutes. They have a decent size parking lot. Our food was ready when we arrived in the exact time frame. Walking in - it smelled very good and there were a few small tables to sit and eat but it mostly looked like people just get it to go. I got the shrimp and steak combo with fried rice and then the veggie stir fry. It was so good and exactly what I've been looking for. I always crave hibachi rice and veggies but without needing to do the whole hoopla of a show and expensive price. I'll definitely be ordering from here often! they have lots of appetizer choices - I want to try the wings next time! read more

Thank you so much for awesome review it really means a lot for us and…
Oh Em Gee!!!!! 10/01/2022 One of the reasons I went here was because it popped up on my Yelp! radar while in town and because the name reminded me of DBZ! Let me tell you, it was freaking delicious. Very sizeable portions and as everyone else pretty much said, you get a show!!!! The cook definitely deserves a lot of praise for being in front of the hot griddle and doing this thing!!!!! I was in awe and amazement seeing how efficient the cook was and you can tell he doesn't need to measure the condiments while cooking, he just knows! Their rice was delicious as was their steak and chicken! I would definitely hop in a car to get some food. Oh, don't be fooled by the portion size... 2 people can definitely feast off of one plate!!!! read more

I've been coming here for a good 3 years and have never received bad service OR non tasty food, portions are big and you can't beat their prices. They are absolutely a 5 star business and deserve all the recognition! Never been to a food spot where the owner is there 8/10 times with a great attitude cooking the food, I mean they really take pride in their craft. Thank you to everybody at Goku read more

Well this place is one for the books. I love hibachi and this place gets the job done. They gave me a lot of food when i ordered the chicken and steak combo with fried rice. The creamy sauce they give on the side was phenomenal. I could literally drink it! The chef and the staff were all very professional and polite. The food is definitely worth the wait and it didn't even take that long (maybe 10 minutes). If you're in town and love hibachi, you don't wanna skip on this place. read more

Finally, I was able to try this fast casual Hibachi restaurant! My sister and I showed up right when they were opening and from start to finish received the best service. We were greeted coming in and when we were leaving by the nicest ladies. I will say, I was expecting a little more pizazz on the inside. The interior is drab and outdated, but I guess most people only care about the food. After ordering, we grabbed a seat and from our table watched the chef cook our food. What an awesome concept! Plus you aren't paying the expensive hibachi prices and it's not a long dining experience if you're looking to get in and out quickly. As always I went with the hibachi chicken with fried rice and my sister had the hibachi steak with noodles. The hibachi chicken was really good and the meal was so big that I finished it for dinner that night. The fried rice could've used more soy sauce and the veggies could've had more flavor, but thanks to the yum yum sauce I guess none of it needed those extra things. My sister enjoyed her meal and was happy to see that a fast casual hibachi place existed as it's one of our favorite things. Goku Hibachi is a well deserved Yelp Top 50 Denver Restaurant pick and I would gladly come back again! read more

This was overall a great experience. I went before work so very early and the restaurant was clean and staff were friendly. I got the steak and chicken combo and both meats were juicy and seasoned just right! The fried rice and vegetables were also delicious . My only complaint is the price of the meal and the portion given specifically I think they could have given more veggies to fill the package. Overall though a great place for a hibachi taste without the experience! read more
I loooooove hibachi, but I'm not a fan of a lot of the places in Denver, and honestly, I'd rather eat it at home with some Netlflix in the background so I can starfish on my couch when I'm finished eating. Living the dream, amirite? I've always been impressed with Goku Hibachi Express. They have friendly staff, the meal gets cooked right in front of you (so you still get the hibachi experience), it's super fast, and oooo is it yummy. You get all of this, without having to pay an insane amount of money. I'd definitely recommend going for a combo. My favorite is steak and shrimp, which comes with vegetables and rice or noodles. They also include yum yum sauce and ginger sauce. The only recommendation I would have is for the restaurant to offer miso soup and a salad. Not necessary, but I would definitely purchase these as sides. A couple tips: ask for 1/2 noodles and 1/2 rice with your combo - may be a slight up charge (totally worth it), order online if you can - it usually only takes 15 minutes so time it with pick up, if you really like the dipping sauces consider paying extra for more, this is an especially great spot to grab a quick weekday dinner. read more

We've been eating here since they opened, and 99.9% of the time, they don't miss! Food is always delicious, fresh and generous portion sizes!! The spring rolls are always cooked perfectly and taste even better. The sauces are always on point. My only complaint with our last order is that, although it was delicious and they did make sure to give the extra vegetables as ordered, the amount of chicken we were provided is noticeably skimp and a lot less than we usually get. Irregardless, we'll still be back over and over again, no doubt!!!! : ) read more
