We were in the area celebrating my sister in laws graduation. And my neice picked Benihana for her birthday. The location was easy to find on gps. There is a big Target in the lot.But the parking lot area looked a bit sketchy and I'm glad we were in a big group. We arrived early for our reservations and decided on a few cocktails. This was a separate area with a bar and sushi section. They also had a few mocktail options as well. We ordered cosmopolitan and espresso martini and speciality mocktails. The bartender was friendly and answered our questions about the drinks. He even offered suggestions. The drinks were plenty strong. As soon as our party arrived we sat as a party of eight. Everyone ordered from hibachi option. Our chef was entertaining and even made my mom laugh with his corny jokes. He made sure to highlight the birthday girl all night and I know she loved that! We've gone here twice in the last 5 years with our most recent visit being on a Saturday with a reservation at 5:45pm. We were seated right away and in one of the back rooms which was nice in terms of it being a bit more quiet. Our chef, Raphael, was probably the best chef we've ever had at Benihana (this location & others), everything was cooked great! They changed their menu and prices definitely increased from when we went for my birthday in 2024 compared to my friend's birthday this year. We all got the 5-course meal, 2 with the filet, one with the teriyaki chicken, and the other hibachi steak, we also all got fried rice but 2 for it with Diablo sauce which they rave about (when in restaurant & outside of). read more

Pretty standard hibachi restaurant with good times and good food. This must be the new Chuck E. Cheese as we even went on a Monday night to celebrate my nephew's birthday and just about every other table was a birthday celebration as well. Most table and grill areas were filled with kids for birthday celebrations. That being said, it was pretty chaotic inside with kids running around and food all over the floor and loud (to be expected). Our chef was super fun and I think that's one really unique thing about hibachi restaurants as each of them have their own personality and tricks. We took my daughter there for her birthday dinner and it was really good and fun. It was the first time there for my two grandkids (8 & 4 years old) and they loved it. The chef made it great for them. We ordered most of the proteins on the menu and all food was very tasty. The waiter and his service were excellent. Food is always great here. Server was phenomenal too. As we were leaving, my 3 year old had a pretty bad spill in the parking lot and got very bloody. I went back inside to ask for a bandaid and the staff went way beyond that providing antiseptic wipes, ointment, band-aids, stickers and a bubbly drink for him. I was dredding to come back from bad experience from last month with burnt food and exorbitant price over but still had $40 gift card that I didnt want to throw away. Happy hour all day at the lounge triggered and here I am. Hoping for the better dining experience. When I walked in at 5 30 pm, it was mostly empty at the lounge. No one was around to greet. You just sit anywhere. Very disorganized and looked dirty. Dirty tables, floors and boxes here and there. See pics. Our waiter was definitely new to this business. He was nice but way he handled things, definitely a newbie Ordered few things. Yes, it's HH menu pricing. Sake was $9 instead of $16. I had a choice of ordering from the HH menu or from the regular ones. While waiting for the food, I can see the bartender fixing an old fashioned drink. She grabs large cube of ice, bare handed. Not once, but twice in a row. How gross! This place definitely needs better management, shaking up things from cleaner restaurant, better food prep and better training. I've been to Benihana many times over the years (in Texas and now Denver), and this last visit was by far the most fun I've ever had. Our hibachi chef, Shainye, was incredible -- funny, engaging, and kept the whole table laughing the entire meal. On top of that, the food was delicious. Honestly, she deserves a raise! The only hiccup was our server, who disappeared for quite a while and walked off when we were trying to order drinks. Luckily, Shainye more than made up for it with her energy and hospitality. My husband asked to speak with the manager, he didn't come up and address the situation. I always enjoy a visit to Benihana and this location was no exception. Compared to locations I've visited in Texas, this location was cleaner, friendlier, and far more organized. The service was top notch - drinks were refilled constantly. Chabelo put on a really great show for us! He knows his tricks well, saw a few new things I hadn't seen at Benihana before. The right balance of humor you hope for in this kind of setting. Really enjoyed my Surf Side platter and the different seafoods available. The quality just goes down and down....I've seen so many managers who are trying to turn this around, but the problems are evident. The problems are two fold... imo. The menu is unclear. I ordered the lunch duet which you pick two options for a little higher price. One is the hibachi chicken. The menu description is "hibachi chicken with sesame seeds, mushrooms and onions." Nowhere on the menu does it state if you order the duet you no longer get mushrooms. I was told it does not come with the duet. Similar issues have arisen in the past. The server never asked if I wanted soup or salad, but did ask others, I got soup, no problem, but it would have been nice to ask. I had to track down a manager to order another glass of wine. When my tab came..:: they'd charged me for the most expensive wine without asking which one I want. I was originally giving this review 3 stars and have subsequently dropped it to 1. Deceptive practices. Be upfront about what people are paying for. The taste is great, but the issues are the servers (not management or the chefs) and deceptive menus. Benihana, you were once known for quality. Stop raising your prices on drinks, your prices aren't comparable with other restaurants. Quit with the lunch gimmicks and specials. People go to your restaurant for quality and consistency. Quit cutting corners on silly things. We will pay for the quality you once provided, but go back to the higher end hibachi, don't become a McDonald's of hibachi to fill more seats. The neighborhood that it is in has gone down hill. We had reservations for 6:30 but didn't get seated for almost an hour after that. I do like the family style seating and we had two other couples at our table that were really nice. The chef was fun and we love the style of cooking, we brought our kids for their birthday but with food price increases the quality and amount of food was not worth the $300 bill. This place was always fun and exciting to take a date too or meet friends when you were younger but I think I have aged out of the target market. By all means give them a try but there is some sticker shock at the end of the night. read more

When your kids are requesting to go eat somewhere besides fast food land, you jump at the opportunity in hopes of having a more refined meal. We had an earlier reservation, ended up sitting with another nice family at the table, and had a good time watching the chef parade the food up and down the grill with his many tricks. The menu is lengthy with many add on's so pay attention to what you're ordering as we got hit with additional fees for items we thought were included. Food was so amazing. And the Wagyu is so delicious and tender. Everything was so delicious. The service in the lounge area seemed a bit awkward. If you want a more private experience, you have to sit in the lounge/bar area. But they don't seem to experienced with people having a full dinner there. The overall atmosphere is LOUD and seems chaotic to be honest. It would likely be better if you had a purpose for the noise and "entertainment", but if you don't have a large group of your own and choose to sit in the main dining area (by reservation only) you will be sitting there forced to share the table with strangers. SPACE: Broken into two rooms, the dining room and hibachi room, the space is large! We were obviously there for hibachi, so we made our way to the left once we entered and seated at a spacious yet intimate table providing just the right amount of seating for our group. SIPS: the menu is massive, offering everything from fresh brewed tea and soda to their extensive offerings at the bar. Being a bubbles girl, I opted for a bottle of San Pellegrino while others sipped on soda's and beers on tap. SERVICE + SUSTENANCE: This is where Benihana truly shines. While the menu offers other house made dishes, hibachi is what they are known for, so we all chose the 5-course hibachi meal.and a show! Our chef proudly introduced himself, had us laughing and mesmerized by his talents the entire evening - in between eating courses of the most perfectly cooked rice, shrimp, steak and more! Portions are massive, so come hungry - or prepared to take home to-go boxes like us! All of us enjoyed the hibachi experience and had the best evening! Now that being said it was nice being able to customize my food with more spice add teriyaki add this less that. That is something you cannot get at a normal restaurant. My espresso martini was very delicious as well as the soup. I wasn't a fan of the ginger dressing for the salad. The showmanship of the hibachi experience was overstimulating for me. visited the Benihana in Denver on 4/19/26 for dinner after seeing it listed on Resy and expecting a more elevated hibachi experience. Unfortunately, the visit did not meet expectations, especially given the price point. The evening started with slow service. It took about 10 minutes to receive the onion soup and salad, and our server mentioned the restaurant was short-staffed. The dining room felt stretched, and there was no visible management support to help with service flow. The hibachi portion of the meal was where most of the issues occurred. The chef appeared disorganized and had difficulty keeping tickets straight. All of the steaks were overcooked, including a Wagyu steak that was an added upcharge. Requested temperatures were not followed. At one point, an incorrect steak was prepared for a guest, and instead of remaking it immediately, the situation caused delays while others at the table had already been served. Two shrimp entrées were also missed initially and later cooked on a grill that was clearly not reset, resulting in food that was overly charred. My meal included ice cream for dessert. I ordered it, but when the check arrived, I noticed it had been given to other guests at the table. At that point, I chose to leave. One additional observation: the suggested tip amounts on the printed receipt were calculated pre‑tax, while the payment tablet displayed suggested tips based on the post‑tax total. This inconsistency felt confusing, particularly while being rushed through the payment process. Overall, the experience did not align with the cost of the meal (close to $200 for two people). We visited for lunch, and there was ample parking and I really liked the valet drive-through where you could drop off at the front door. The hostess promptly took our order, almost rushing us because we were added to a table of two. We ordered sushi, salmon, rolls, and were given something completely different... Still not sure what they were, but it's interesting that a Japanese steakhouse and sushi bar would prepare the wrong sushi. And the hostess, whom put in the order, acted like it was our fault as if we had ordered something wrong. I 1000% know what a salmon roll looks like, and this was some sort of shredded crab like substance, nowhere near a salmon roll. She placed it in front of us, even after we told her it was the wrong item, and said it was exactly as we had ordered. I asked for the manager and sent it back because it was clearly not the right thing. After several minutes, the hostess came back and advised that the chef made the wrong roll and that the correct one would be out soon. Kinda overlooked that but was quite unimpressed with the service. The Teppanyaki chef came out and he was amazing! He was very upbeat with a great personality and did a great job with the starting show, where he was twirling utensils. That part was really neat as well as all of his little jokes. The hibachi portion was OK, but it didn't blow my socks off like most other Benihana's do. My chicken was a bit overcooked, but the rice was excellent as was the shrimp and fillet. I'll start out by saying that our server, Heidi, was amazing and this review is not reflective of her at all. We came here 8/16 to celebrate our friend's birthday. She was excited because she's never been to a hibachi place before. However, the experience was ruined because they served her steak that had clearly gone bad. Several of us literally smelled and tasted it, and it smelled like manure and tasted rancid. Our chef told us that other tables had the same issue. The chef made her a new steak, but at that point, she had lost her appetite and had eaten a couple of pieces, so she was paranoid about getting food poisoning. An awful experience for the birthday girl, and we all felt terribly that it was her experience specifically that was ruined. The manager came over to address the issue, and we had to pressure him to remove the steak from the bill, rather than offering to as he should have. I'll also say that I've been to several hibachi experiences, and our chef put very little effort into making the experience memorable. No fire show. Not a lot of theater or performance. Overall, a pretty disappointing experience for the price and potentially dangerous for some of us. To top it all off, they came to sing her happy birthday and gave her the equivalent of a Pup Cup with a candle in it. We made a dinner reservation we checked in 30 minutes early. However, we were told they were running 20-30 minutes late on reservations. In my opinion that's simply poor management of reservations. They give away or cancel your reservation if you are 15 minutes late. A group walked in after their 15 minute grace period and they were told they lost their reservation? What? You're 30 minutes behind so technically they are 15 minutes early. There is no where to comfortably wait for your table. What do we( paying customers) get if you are late? Our meals discounted? Free drinks? Nope Nothing! The server said they see 1200 people a night? How is that possible when you are 30 minutes late in your reservations. And if that's true why is your restaurant dumpy, not well ventilated. The decor is tired and this place needs an update desperately. The bar area could offer more seating if it were managed and set up appropriately. The lights in here are on a constant flicker. Really? Get an electrician and fix this. Hostesses: tough job but the yelling for customers is terrible. No professionalism. Not their fault though because this is truly a reflection of restaurant leadership. This place has completely fallen off and after all these years you'd think that they would upgrade the whole experience was not it I could not get over the fact that grease is getting all over me while the chef was cooking all while he tossed food close to my feet and all over the table with his unorthodox way of doing their tricks service was ok but not great. Our reservation got pushed back 30 minutes. Once we were sat, our chef didn't arrive to the table for an hour and 10 minutes. We had reservations at 6:00 PM for a party of five and arrived about 5 minutes early. When we checked in, we were told the wait would be 15-20 minutes. After that, we were repeatedly told we were "next to be seated," but that never turned out to be true. In reality, we weren't seated until 7:30 PM -- an hour and a half after our reservation time. The lack of honest communication was incredibly frustrating. We could have made a different decision if we had been given accurate information instead of being told over and over that we were next. Once seated, the experience was fine, but the poor reservation management and misleading wait times really took away from the evening. The manager said we could get a discount, but that was also a lie. The total price was VERY expensive for 5 people. The bill was very confusing, they had to reprint it over 5 times, each time giving us a completely different review.
