Our usual AYCE sushi was closed so we tried this place. Overall it was pretty good. I think they could improve the ordering process as the 2 menus confused us (it stated both AYCE or a la carte so we weren't sure what was included in the AYCE). I think having us mark what we want rather than having to wait for a server to write it down for us would be easier but that's just my experience on ordering. Our server was nice and explained everything though. The food was pretty good. The nigiri were huge and the Mito sushi roll (with lobster tempura) was my favorite. The mussels were sweet and I did not like those at all. The calamari did not look anything like the menu pic though so I was a little disappointed in that. Overall the food was pretty good and service was nice. The place itself was clean and quiet cause I think we went at an off time. It's very spacious as well which was nice. We have been going here since they opened. It is a great all you can eat! The fish is super fresh and good size slices for nigiri. This place is way better than Totoro, which is nearby. After coming here we went to Totoro one time and will never go back. The fish there looks old and tired compared to Mito Sushi. The service is super! All the staff is amazing and super attentive. The one thing that they could improve on, is to have the manager walk around and talk to people. I have no idea if they even have a manager. The sushi chefs do a super job and get the food out fast. Even when they are busy. It is great to see that they were busy last night, which was a Friday, and their business has been growing in popularity. The place is very tastefully decorated. It was CRAZY BUSY on Friday. I believe it was the first time I've ever seen the restaurant almost 100% filled. It was really nice to see and it may have caused a delay in bringing our food, but it really didn't impact the quality. There was a huge party of about 30 people who were rambunctious and loud but they were having a blast. It's nice to see folks out and about enjoying the ambiance and good food. Decided to try this new-ish AYCE sushi spot last night. The offerings are not as vast as other AYCE spots but the quality and price make up for it. Their portions are also larger than the surrounding AYCE sushi spots. The nigiri is the same size as their à la carte option. I felt they could've used less rice, but the portions weren't terrible. I like that sashimi is included and their large pieces as well. We also tried their Centennial roll which we really enjoyed. We would have ordered more but we were stuffed after this order. My only complaint is that you can only order 1 order of 3 sushi pieces per fish. For example, I love hamachi. ALOT. But I can only get 1 order of 3 pieces included in the AYCE. Mito Sushi is a new AYCE sushi restaurant located in Centennial around Southlands Shopping Mall. I love me some AYCE sushi so I had to check it out even though it is very far from where I live. When entering, the hostess was rude and clearly didn't want to be there even not answering questions and no greeting. That right away put a bad taste in our mouths. It also took a while for anyone to help us but once we were helped, service was great! The sushi quality here is actually surprisingly good. If I received the sushi we got here at an à la carte spot, I wouldn't have been disappointed. The one thing they lack here though is a big menu. Compared to other AYCE restaurants, there isn't a wide selection especially for nigiri and starters. It was plenty for me but keep that in mind. The plus side is this is one of the rare restaurants that offer takoyaki (octopus balls) and red snapper as either sushi or sashimi. For that, it makes for a great all you can eat option! Decent option for AYCE sushi. They do have an a la carte menu but all members of the table have to order from the same menu- so either AYCE or a la carte. The AYCE is clearly a better deal, as it includes soups like miso and hot and sour, sushi, sashimi, basic and deluxe sushi rolls, takoyaki, edamame, seaweed salad, mussels, Japanese fried chicken, etc. There is a 2 hr limit for dining and they do limit the sashimi to 1 order per type of fish per person. Everything tasted fresh. I enjoyed the sashimi especially. (Not all AYCE places do sashimi.) The variety of offerings was just okay. They did not have scallop. Parking is plentiful. Service was good. We were seated promptly and had excellent service throughout the night. For the all you can eat, there are quite a few appetizer options. We got the crab Rangoons and the calamari. I preferred the crab Rangoon but both were freshly fried! For dinner, the menu is expanded and has speciality rolls. We felt that their specialty rolls were better than their more simple rolls. Service was the star tonight. I assumed that they would slow roll us so we wouldn't get our moneys worth, but our waitress was attentive and on top of her game. I guess this restaurant must be desperate. I have noticed that each time I have gone, the quality has gone down and no one is eating there. I guess they fooled me by not printing out a receipt for me to keep, but it looks like they didn't know I took a photo before leaving. I had lunch which reflected on the time stamp of my receipt as well as what I was charged, but they charged for a child dinner to steal an extra $4 from me. I don't find this professional and this is outright illegal. I was wondering why it seemed to be more than I expected, but I was in a hurry to leave for an appointment. It is still wrong, however. After dining here three times in the last month, I will say Mito is a solid spot to get your AYCE sushi fix. Each time I went, the servers were attentive and the sushi has been consistent. Plus, their space is large so grabbing a table for a party of two or even six isn't ever an issue. We came at 5:30PM are there were a lot of free tables, so we were sat down instantly. The service was what you should expect. Since it's not as busy as Chubby Fish, we got our food pretty quickly. The quality of the fish was good, but the appetizers were the stars during my meal. The mussle and hot&sour soup were always on my table whenever we did the next round. Mita also serves sashimi, which I haven't seen at any of the AYCE sushi restaurants I've been to. Although, there were some appetizers that were a little underwhelming. The yakitori was also okay. The lunch prices is a bargain especially with their quality, but be careful because some items are dinner only. The interior was nice and modern. All in all, a good four. This place is none of those things. $35 per person for as much of anything on the menu is a great deal. The appetizers are small portions so you can try multiple items which is great! I met my sister there last Saturday and this place is great. I had salmon, tuna, yellowtail and eel sashimi and a spicy salmon hand roll. The only minor complaint was that they didn't tell me that we both have to order all you can eat, if the other person does.
