She talked to Eli, who said he would file an insurance claim, but I never heard anything about the claim, even after calling Eli several times and sending him the information he said he needed. The few times I was able to reach him, I was really unhappy with our interactions, as well as the final outcome, which was that I didn't get reimbursed for the money it took to repair the keyboard. Complaints: - overcharged for packing and shipping ($325 for a 50 pound package shipped UPS ground from NC to CA) - inadequate packing (1.5 layers of thin bubble wrap inside a box that was too big) - didn't communicate to me adequately about the status of the claim - made ridiculous assertions on the phone like "Given you shipped it 3000 miles I'm surprised it wasn't more broken than it was" - accused me of trying to "set him up" when I mentioned that the packing was inadequate - was very curt in email, the last I was able to get a response from him he wrote "Sir, I have been informed by UPS that they tried unsuccessfully to come bye three times to do an inspection on the pkg. The claim has been closed now. eli". I never heard from UPS. I could have probably done a better job by contacting UPS myself, or by researching normal prices before letting my friend pay so much. In any case, based on my experience with Eli, I don't recommend using his company.
