My friend had a Yamaha keyboard shipped to me using Eli., which arrived inadequately packed and damaged. She talked to Eli, who said he would file an insurance claim, but I never heard anything about the claim, even after calling Eli several times and sending him the information he said he needed. The few times I was able to reach him, I was really unhappy with our interactions, as well as the final outcome, which was that I didn't get reimbursed for the money it took to repair the keyboard. Complaints: - overcharged for packing and shipping ($325 for a 50 pound package shipped UPS ground from NC to CA) - inadequate packing (1.5 layers of thin bubble wrap inside a box that was too big) - didn't communicate to me adequately about the status of the claim - made ridiculous assertions on the phone like "Given you shipped it 3000 miles I'm surprised it wasn't more broken than it was" - accused me of trying to "set him up" when I mentioned that the packing was inadequate - was very curt in email, the last I was able to get a response from him he wrote "Sir, I have been informed by UPS that they tried unsuccessfully to come bye three times to do an inspection on the pkg. The claim has been closed now. eli". I never heard from UPS. I could have probably done a better job by contacting UPS myself, or by researching normal prices before letting my friend pay so much. In any case, based on my experience with Eli, I don't recommend using his company. read more

THE WORST! I have been here three times total. The first time I figure was a fluke, maybe this person was just having a bad day, because they were so rude. The second time there was a different person working, who was nice enough, but took their time.. The third time I was in a hurry and this place is closer to me than the post office... Big mistake -- the person who "helped" me talked to another person the entire time, did not greet me when I came in, did not make eye contact, offered me no choices in shipping (uhh what if I wanted delivery confirmation? why did it cost so much?) took my payment, had me sign the receipt and proceeded to THROW my packages into a bin about 5 feet away RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME! I was completely dumbfounded. I'll never be back. It's not worth it. I don't know who this person is nice to that keeps the place in business, but it obviously isn't me. read more

Terrible service! Employees were rude and hardly acknowledged me even though I was the only customer. In addition, I was given virtually no options in deciding what method to ship. I was handed a form to fill out and told a price. Even after I asked why the price was so high I was given very little explanation on shipping options, and no information on when the package would arrive. I left and went to the post office; using a flat rate box, my package was shipped 3 day delivery for $12.35. Eli's price was $35.76, and I don't even know when the package would arrive. I always try to take my business to small local businesses, but my expirence with Eli's was unacceptable. read more

I needed Moravian Buns shipped from Winston-Salem to Florida. Everything was scheduled until the snowstorm hit!! Eli kept in touch with me, presented me with options, and also stayed in touch with the bakery. The buns arrived on time and in perfect condition! I will definitely use Eli again. read more

Awful. Overpriced. Messy. Unprofessional. Don't waste your time. I wish I had checked yelp before I went there, or I would not have gone. I have used pack & ship services before, and I was not impressed. I used Eli's for some eBay sales. This place was extremely overpriced. The packing services were not too expensive, but the shipping was absurd. It seems like he probably packs things in overly large boxes to bump up the price? I lost money on one item I sold because the shipping was so much. And then when I asked if there was a cheaper option, he was not very transparent. He also took everything to the back and only gave me an invoice after I had already filled out all the forms. It wasn't worth it to me to leave at that point when the stuff was already back in his workshop. He doesn't pack it in front of you, so you do not see the final product condition (who knows how much bubble wrap he uses etc.). The whole place is cluttered, messy, and claustrophobic. It doesn't seem like they can keep track of everything with their system. This may be a Winston-Salem staple, but they shouldn't be. Go somewhere else. They've served 11 million suckers who have never been to another Pack & Ship. I am disappointed I was one of them. read more

Fiasco. Please reconsider before using this company. The service, at first, seemed personal and excellent. Then reality struck. When final prices and real contracts finally were pushed and prodded out of the manager and Eli himself, they were MUCH higher than promised. Contracts and arrangements that had been promised, ("We'll take care of it, don't worry, don't worry") had actually never been made. My mover backed out on me on the day of our move. We were left scrambling for help moving into our new home. We came across Eli and his crew. They were able to step in at moments notice and provide the additional manpower we needed to get everything loaded and moved. They were friendly, hard working and all of my furniture and personal items were moved with no damage. I would call them again if needed. read more

I used Eli for a big move of around 800 miles. Got a discount for being Baptist Medical center employee. Overall process went smoothly and saved some money as there was no limit on number or boxes or weight. So really did not have to worry about going over estimate limits. In the past I have gone with big companies and had to deal with delays and lost furniture but no such issues this time. read more
