Sorry in advance for the long review but I feel like I have I have been meaning to write this review for some time now, and have been struggling to find words that could adequately express my love and appreciation for Tony, and his entire team at Godiva. I feel it would be an understatement to just say that Tony exceeds my expectations every time. Guys, idk about all of you but I was burned out and honestly scared to trust a new hairdresser after a couple bad experiences elsewhere. I moved here in 2017 and had been looking for the right hairdresser when I found Tony in 2021. After seeing another guy who gave me a "wet ponytail" haircut (don't even ask), I made my way into Tony's chair. I'll never visit another salon! If I ever move, I'll be making trips back here for my hair! My hair has never looked better, but not only that- it is so much healthier, softer, and stronger than it's been in years! I could not be happier! I can honestly say that for the first time in my life, I am getting haircuts that make me feel more confident and genuinely compliment the shape of my face. At my last appointment, Tony performed a thermal reconditioning (Japanese hair straightening) on my hair and can I just say that it very well might be the best money I've ever spent? They managed to have a conversation with me and discuss treatment options and how to fix my catastrophic hair. Hands down best hair salon in all of Atlanta! My hair literally was a mess with me doing it myself. It had green spots & grey spots. The moment I walked it I loved how beautiful the salon was. The receptionist was super patient and helpful. I felt super comfortable & I knew I would be taken care of really well. I want to personally say thank you so much to Tiffany! She came in on her day off. I was super insecure that no one could fix my hair. Tiffany radiated that confidence that she knew she could take care of my hair and fix it. I have seen Olivia 3 times now since moving to Atlanta. First 2 were for basic women's haircut and I loved both!! She convinced me to try something new so I got my first ever balayage today. I LOVE IT!!!! It's so beautiful and the color is exactly what I imagined. I look like I've been hanging out all day in the sun!!! She worked so fast (was in salon for 2 hours max) and was so friendly the whole time so I knew exactly what was going on. Ashley is AHHHHMAZING! She is super cool and knew exactly how to cut my hair off and make it look cute. When I say off, I mean that I took off over 9 inches so I could donate it to Great Lengths. This salon is hidden on the top floor of a busy shopping center. You think it is going to be a run of th emill typ eof place, but you walk in and it is like "AHHHHHHHHHH" (sound effects please!) It is a Paul Mitchell salon and it has free standing stations where the dryers hang from the ceiling. The hair washing stating is in its own little oasis. Anyways, Ashley did a great job and she is so friendly and outgoing. She is not one of those over the top obnoxious types. Oh, they give you a referral slip to give to a friend. Your friend will get 50% off and when they use it, they get a slip to give to a friend. Oh, and when your friend uses it, you get 50% off your next cut. After a couple of years of hit-and-misses in terms of finding a solid hair salon in ATL, I am SO happy to have found my go-to. As a blonde, I constantly struggled with getting rid of the unwanted brassy color and I had a hard time finding a salon that truly knew what I wanted. Problem solved by my stylist, Olivia. I walked in with a mess of damaged hair and brassy shades but walked out with hair that felt more healthy than ever and the gorgeous ashy blonde color I have wanted for so long. Not only was Olivia full of personality and genuinely fun to talk to, but she is incredibly talented and I would recommend her to anyone who needs to find a reliable stylist in the area. Let me start by giving a brief background. I have only used paul mitchell product and color in my hair since the age of 16...(I am 30 now), and have only had haircuts by my aunt, who is a Paul mitchell educator and owner of a small town paul mitchell focus salon in NY. I moved to Atlanta at the end of 2017.... I was clearly very hesitant to let anyone place their hands on my hair, to color, cut, or do anything. First impression... phone to make appointment, easy... no struggle to get the day or time that worked for me. First glance of the salon. Wow! It's visually appealing, clean, front desk, color bar, wash house, client seating...all perfect. I was asked to change into a wrap around garment, which I loved bc I hate getting color or water on my clothes at the salon. I was offered coffee, wine, snacks...and the bathroom was flawless ( I was also informed the seat is heated). Ok, now to my hair experience... Scotty! What a sweetheart, he was so nice and knowledgeable, had a great hand.l and we had great conversation. He understood I was coming from a long history of knowing my hair routine and was considerate and respectful. Experience at the washhouse was serene and calming. Ultimately. Great experience. Still not 100% comfortable with someone else cutting my hair, but it was a great experience overall, and my haircut was great. I highly recommend this place. While I love my hair, it is a pain in the ass to deal with every day. So I don't. A lot of days I let it go completely natural in its frizzy/wavy state and I don't mind a bit. I've actually learned to embrace it. The frustrating thing with my hair has always been that when I *do* take the time to blow dry and straighten, I want it to look nice. And sadly that wasn't always the end result. Until I met Katie. Since having my hair cut by Katie a few weeks ago, every day that I put the slightest bit of effort in to my hair, it looks awesome. Good hair day after good hair day, guaranteed. Sure, it might be my new hairdryer... but that was only $20 at Target so I'm pretty sure it's Katie that's got the goods. And while I still let my hair go wild most days (I am seriously lazy), it still looks pretty good, which is a far cry from the Amazonian looks I've rocked in the past. In addition to having serious skills, Katie is super personable and fun to spend a few hours with. And yeah, you'll spend a few hours (if you're getting color) because this woman is deeeetail oriented, for serious. I think she cut every strand of my bangs individually. And you know what? She's the first stylist I've found in Atlanta who cut them so they lay right without coaxing. Holler. While the salon itself doesn't have a whole lot of character (it is in a strip mall in Buckhead, as others have said) and I'm a little bummed they use Paul Mitchell products instead of my favorite Bumble and Bumble, I will most certainly be back to Godiva. 12.12.13 Since I'm apparently not allowed to make an update, I will just edit my review. Katie is no longer with Godiva and has moved to City Salon on Pharr Rd just up the street. Go and see her there! Don't let the Buckhead address fool you- the folks that work here know their hair and if you want something off the beaten path it can be arranged- if you get the right person! All the hairstylists are extremely talented and can do men's hair as well as women's- my boyfriend has always been scared of hair salons because he always wants a shaggy 'do and he usually ends up with some little boy cut- shaved on the neck and around the ears as well! Terrible! But when the ultra-talented Katie got a hold of him he walked out a very happy boy. I've never seen him walk out of a salon and admire his hair in the rear view mirror! She does my hair as well and I've always gotten a perfectly executed cut and dye every time- I like my haircuts a little weird and my dye jobs asymmetrical and she has no fear in her heart- she always pulls off something new and exciting every time I go in! I implore you to just go ahead and fight a little Buckhead traffic to try this place out! It's located on the second story of the Barnes and Noble shopping center so it's easy to find! Nothing has changed. Katie is still the best at cutting and coloring my hair and Godiva is just a great salon that I love. I love them even more for being one of the few places that will call and let you know they are running behind. I hate having to wait! They called on Saturday to let me know that I should arrive 15 minutes late otherwise I'd just be waiting. They were extremely apologetic about it and I really appreciate the consideration they have for their client's time. I also must say that Ashley (I think that's her name!) is the sweetest receptionist/assistant this salon could ever have. She helps out everyone and she give the best scalp massage when shampooing/conditioning my hair. This is a random side note but beware of the toilet! Other reviewers have commented on its awesomeness so I checked it out this time. I'm pretty sure I burned my bum with the hot water it spews. That it probably TMI but I don't want someone else's innocent booty getting burned. I did like the fact that the toilet seat was warm....very nice. I haven't step foot into a salon in years.. I've been getting the Friends with benefits cuts from my hair stylist for over a decade now and have been truly spoiled. Well, I missed my appt with him and decided it's time to step out of my comfort zone for a change. I did what everyone in the 21st century do... Google it and then yelp it to make sure it's legit. Well Godiva Salon was the first thing that came up and my inner foodie comes out - Godiva Chocolate??? It must be good. Booked the appointment with their "Master Designer" Katie with zero expectations. I read her mini bio and felt like she was the perfect designer to start with and I'm so happy with my choice. It also helped that everyone here on Yelp as raved about her, thanks for the reviews! Not only does my $75 gets me a cut & blow dry, but an awesome shampoo and conditioning massage... it was really nice and relaxing but I think I was somewhat tense from the anticipation... Before coming in, I did my homework and got a picture of the cut that I wanted. I had thin hair and it's completely dead. But I knew what kind of cut works for me and what gives me volume blah blah blah. Anyways, Katie did the consultation, she freaking nailed it. I was blown away and I had to show her the picture of what she just recommended. Katie, if you happen to be reading this, you're a keeper. :) I love love love my cut and got so many compliments from my peers. Have been looking for a permanent hair salon for years. Came to Godiva looking for someone to fix the mistakes made to my cut and color from a previous salon ( which I found on groupon). Ashley was my stylist and was very skilled. She gave me an amazing haircut and really helped fix my color. I left feeling great but after paying 200+ dollars I wanted my hair to look superb. I know that after the previous salon butchered my hair that it would take time to fix but I needed a quicker fix. I called the salon back and they were happy to fit me in early the following week. I went to Godiva based on recommendations from some of my yelp friends and it was such a good call. Like Kathleen M. I also have this issue with my hair where I either have to blow dry it completely and style it or it looks not so good. My hair takes forever to dry and it is a pain to deal with. I have a small baby and also work and I don't have time to do a lot to my hair in the morning. Katie was awesome. She listened to what I had to say and suggested a cut. According to my husband its the best haircut I've had in a long time. The salon experience overall was nice - I hadn't been before so the guy at the front desk gave me a tour. All of the staff were really welcoming. I do wish it was a little less expensive. I'm not saying it isn't worth it but I'd be lying if I said that didn't diminish it some for me. But, Katie is fantastic and I'd highly recommend going here. I also, many years ago, worked with them at a nonprofit event. Ashley is the BEST!!!! I swear she knows my hair and what looks good and how it will look when it grows out. She is super friendly and professional! Her haircuts are ALWAYS fabulous beyond fabulous I would say premium! She has had great training at the Paul Mitchell school and she has carried that into her professional career. I showed her a picture once and she has been able to recreate that picture after several weeks or make adjustments according to my new wants and hair length and how my hair will grow out. The last time I visited her was before I moved to SF and she gave me the best color job! It was a red that was dark enough to look natural (because I have very dark hair) but also red enough that it was noticeable. That night I went out for my birthday and EVERYBODY *drunk and sober* gave me compliments on my hair color as well as the cut. Ever since I have moved I have been hesitant to go to anyone else but her...I'm even contemplating flying back to Atlanta just for her to cut my hair. But I definitely recommend Ashley! I saw godiva from yelp cause i really need a hair cut, i have horrible hair !!! I make app with the receptionist, i asked katie and ashley and they gave me ashley I love that i can easily make appointment And the other day i went to Godiva, it takes 30 mnt and it's oke for me Soon as i get there i met the Ashley and she is really nice!! She got the cool tattoo in her arm ! Wooot woooot....!!! I have thin hair, because i used to used cheap perm ( and i regret it for the rest of my life!! ) , and i swear right now i only use the best quality on my hair including hair cut Ashley look into my hair right away and and give a helpful suggestion, and the way she talk is really genuine like really want you get the best shape and covering your weak side.. It's not because I go anywhere else: it's because the folks here give such great care to your hair that even between cuts, it grows out so perfectly that you don't have to make an appointment every six to eight weeks. Because who has time for that? That might not be what THEY want to hear here (*grin*), but it's the truth. The folks here take time to listen to you, make recommendations, give you what you want (and more!) and make you walk out feeling fabulous. I went to Godiva Salon for the first time today, and it more than exceeded my expectations. Every positive review here and elsewhere is well-founded. The staff greets you warmly and shows you around the salon to help you get your bearings. The facilities, cleanliness, and Paul Mitchell products they use are all top-notch. What really made my experience fantastic was my stylist, Beck. She is considered a "Rising Star" on the team there being a somewhat recent addition, but she gave me the best haircut I've ever had, so I'd say she's already "risen!" She was extremely professional, listening to my desires and goals for my new haircut (which is now a fun, dramatic 12 inches shorter than when I arrived - exactly what I was looking for). She was meticulous in her execution, and I could tell she was very focused and not distracted like other stylists I've had in the past. For a salon that has every reason to tout their fabulous stylists, clientele, and products, you'll find that Godiva Salon is full of warm, down-to-Earth people who make you feel comfortable and important from the moment you arrive. I tried Godiva a few months ago based on the Yelp reviews after having a "change of heart" with my former colorist. It was a painful breakup... but ya, know... sometimes it has to happen :) Stephanie really "got" the color/style I was going for and, for once, instilled confidence that I would be able to achieve that look without major damage to my hair. Her philosophy is that she wants hair to be colorful, yet "pretty"... so she won't do anything that will fry or kill your hair. She really took a lot of time assessing my hair and explaining exactly what she was doing and why. I appreciated that she set realistic expectations as to what she would be able to achieve in that appointment and how long it would take to get to where I wanted to ideally be (from dark brown with chunky blonde highlights to lighter copper with blonde subtle highlight). She used this product that lifted the color out of my hair without bleaching or damagin it at all. After two appointments, I'd say my hair is pretty spot on! read more

I started going to see Hayley after I moved to Buckhead and found this directly across the street from my house. Being able to walk to your salon = awesome. I've had a bad track record with trying different short hairstyles and finally decided I just wanted my hair long again. Hayley was completely up front with what kind of process we were looking at to get my layers grown out and how long it would take to change the shape. She did exactly what I wanted and told my why she was doing everything, which is refreshing! I'm about to start having her color my hair and I'm stoked. I recommended my boyfriend to try her since he is so particular and gets the fluffiest hair known to man. He went (on their awesome 50% off referral deal) and his hair looked awesome. It has grown out so well and he continues to see Hayley. The salon is pretty and clean. The washroom is like a 5 min trip to a spa. They are always incredibly friendly and flexible when I need to change my appointments. I can't recommend them enough. read more

I chose Godiva Salon based on the reviews I read on Yelp and I was very pleased with my decision. The manager even stopped by my hair station to introduce himself (5 stars for customer service!) Haley did my highlights and cut and I already have my next appointment booked with her. I have dark blonde hair and I wanted to go lighter blonde. I'd been unhappy with the way my old stylist was cutting my hair, which was a short bob with a stacked back. It never grew out right and always looked choppy. So I went to Godiva and scheduled an appointment with Shay. Not only did the owner, Tony, come over and explain to me what my old stylist was probably doing wrong, but Tony and Shay both provided me with options and possibilities for what I could do with my hair and what they personally recommended. I got my hair shampooed, cut and highlighted and I absolutely LOVE my hair now. Shay also used a very limited amount of styling products in my hair but was still able to get that salon look in my hair. I didn't smell like a crazy fruit bar the rest of the day!
