Diablo shrimp bowl - A tray holds white rice, a cheesy dish topped with peppers, and glazed chicken pieces, with a small plant garnish.

Had a strange experience here. The initial interaction was great with the server. I let her know about my gluten intolerance and she let me know what I could eat. Ordered the diablo shrimp. She said they could make it with a corn topper. It came out with a wheat flour topper. She apologized and said she would remake it. And here is where things went left. There was a mix up about what would be remade. She meant they would remake the topper. I thought she said they would remake the meal because of cross contamination. Then it was a little back and forth with what she believed to be the difference between an allergy and an intolerance. But I think she meant the difference between celiac and a gluten intolerance. I asked for the food not to be remade and found somewhere else to eat If you don't have celiac or a gluten intolerance, please don't argue with folks about the impacts on their bodies. The agua fresca was good.

Great outdoor seating with flowers and birds. The first word I said after the first bite was "wow". And that about sums it up. Go here. It is spectacular. I tried the roasted garlic, spinach and cheese pupusa and the green chile, bean, carnitas, and cheese. Definitely in the top five best pupusas I've ever had. The beans and rice con crema were simple yet rich. The yuca was perfectly crispy. It was a bit of a wait but worth every bite. All of the staff were also welcoming. This is a safe place for all and they show it with all of their cool stickers and decorations. Don't miss this gem tucked away in Old Town!

Ok the only thing I can say about this place it's amazing!!!! It's hidden in old town Albuquerque. You go through a business and it's in the back. They have a couple of tables inside , but they also have a small patio seating area. Now to the food. I love pupusas, if you know you know about the no fork. lol. The pupusas were delicious, I mean they have to be towards the top of my favorite list. The people were so friendly and welcoming. I will definitely be back

Vegan mushroom tacos - Plate of vegan mushroom tacos topped with cilantro, pickled vegetables, and sauce, served with radish, lime wedges, and tortilla chips with green sauce.

Really delicious vegan tacos - the mushrooms were well roasted and juicy. The pickled veg and cilantro topped with spicy salsa made for the perfect kick. We wiped our plates clean. Everything is made fresh so obviously wait time reflects that. Loved it, wish there was more quantity for the price. Will be dreaming about the taste for a while :)

Absolutely fantastic! I had the Lions Mane Mushrooms and rice. Excellent portion sizes and flavors for days. Aqua Fresca was best I ever had and service was top notch. Alex was wonderful and attentive. Atmosphere adorable. Must experience in Old Town Abq.

Amazing food and the agua fresca was great as well! Great little place in old town - second time here both were excellent!

Definitely some of the best bites around, gobble this is a must try for great tacos and pupusas. Stopped in for a taco Tuesday special hours deal with a friend. The carne asada tacos were $1 each on a special and absolutely amazing. Super great flavor and choose your own toppings. I also got a $5 aqua fresca and it was really good. Definitely keep an eye out on their socials for special open to the public days because most of the time it is reservation only. It's a really unique spot and they don't work the way a traditional restaurant does but it's worth it to stop by and experience something different.

A group of us stopped while walking Old Town. The folks working were very kind and welcoming and explained our options. The patio outside is adorable and the whole restaurant is warm and comfortable feeling. I got the steak papusa plate which was delicious and very flavorful. It was all fully made to order. It felt like having lunch at my grandma's house. Highly recommend. Wish I lived closer.

I'm so glad I wandered into this restaurant on Old Town. I had the Best Pupusas I've ever eaten, and such sweet service. Don't overlook this Salvadoran cafe. Darn good food!

Cool little hole-in-the-wall with some amazing food! The carnitas sliders were incredibly moist and the pickled cabbage added a nice crunch.

Is this business still open? Went on a Saturday at 12:30 for lunch and they were closed

Yes, he still is. Barely hanging on, but he is still running this place. The owner/Chef does have odd hours - I agree! You can always call or text him to place your order to take-out: (505) 975-3969

We walked in and started reading the menu and chatting with the man at the counter. He helped us pick out *five* vegetarian pupusas. Pretty good start! We ordered the calabacitas and cheese, the green chile and cheese, the loroco and cheese, the spinach and cheese, and the bean. Then the guy was surprised we wanted to eat there - guess you only order at the counter for to-go. We also inquired about the aguas frescas, and upon being assured that they were not that sweet, ordered a tamarindo and a melon. We grabbed a small table under the TV playing cumbia and other Salvadoran music videos. There were several other folks in the place so we got to look at some of the other offerings, including huge bowls of menudo and possibly even huger tortas. Our pupusas came fairly quickly for pupusas (some places will advise you that they can take 15-20 minutes) and came with two sides: a bowl of a very thin but flavorful salsa, and a mound of red cabbage slaw that reminded me just a bit of a pickled situation. Two of us were able to eat the 5 together, although 4 would have probably been enough. But now we've tried them all. The green chile and cheese was my favorite; the calabacitas was also good. The bean would be better with cheese; I might try to eat it with a cheesy one in the future. Also, the aguas frescas were aMAzing. Definitely the best ones that I have had in Albuquerque, and possibly the best outside of Mexico. Just a delight! The only knock on this place is that they close at 6pm every day, so if you want them for dinner you'll have to get takeout the last hour they are open. They do have several breakfast-y options though, so maybe the next time we visit (and I definitely want to go back!) we'll make it a brunch thing.

The staff was patient, friendly, and helpful. The food didn't take very long at all, but that could be because there was only one other party of guests there - although other pupusa places have taken much longer to prepare the food regardless. We ordered a variety of pupusas and they were all made fresh to order with creamy melted cheese oozing out as we cut into them - way more cheese than normal and very delicious. They all had different flavors based on the filling and were all delicious, but we really enjoyed the rajas (poblanos) and zucchini the most. The plantains were nice and soft and delicious and the masa in the corn tamale was amazingly soft and moist, but the crema they brought with it was not sweet at all - which didn't take away from it at all, but it said it would be sweet. The tomato soup on the side was nice and spicy and running, easily poured onto the pupusas as desired, and the cabbage was refreshing and perfect. Overall it was a delicious meal and we will be back for more!

The pupusas themselves were decent, it should be noted that some of the flavor profile picked up in each bite had a little of an off putting taste. Couldn't identify what it was. I think for me a Salvador restaurant just has to have certain amenities /staples, and that wasn't me here. I'm not here just a bash or make or restaurant look bad. Their fried bananas (platanos frito) and fried tamale (though I asked for a steam tamale) were delightful. Their pupusas were also stuffed which is what I love in a Pupusa. Server was sweet and was smiling the entire. Hope the business continues to thrive and wish them the best of luck.
