Each coming out 20 min or so after the other. The cost of this was $20 for as much as you wanted and included a beverage of your choice. My only wish is that they would offer tapas with charge-per-plate as my husband and I no longer eat a lot at one sitting. Hands down the best food in abq Nestor is an amazing chef who's created such a special environment and experience. This is a great place to bring friends and hang out, have a date night, celebrate something special, or even just go alone and make new friends! I recommend coming hungry and letting nestor just do his thing and bring you 5-7 courses of incredible food. I never know what's going to show up in front of me but it's always amazing. He's also great with any dietary restrictions you may have and you'll still be happy! We had been wanting to try this place for a while and never made the time. NOW during the COVID-19 crisis we saw they offered curbside pickup so we decided to finally give them a try. We've ordered twice and even though its a set menu for the day it was AMAZING both times. Nestor is super friendly and has been doing it ALL since they've been closed (not having patrons coming in). Saw all the rave reviews during lock down from COVID. Everyone said food is fabulous and to support a local guy. Well, we did and it sucked. Many dishes were not available (understandable), but what we did get was cold and hard. What pissed me off the most was that we drove all the way to Old Town from the Heights to pick up the food. Knocked on the locked door and they just give us these blank looks as if they had NO IDEA why the hell we were standing outside in the rain. After literally ten minutes, some chick with two yappy dogs comes to the door and asks what we want. I was about to say fuck it and leave, but the cool-headed wife prevailed and took charge. We eventually got the food, but like I said, the mood had been spoiled. Most ended up in the trash. Not going again unless they have the elotes to go. I had heard of this place from a fellow Salvi in LA and just happened to walk by it in Old Town ABQ. I saw several awards in the wall after eating I have to say that the hype is real. The pastelitos (fried empanadas) were amazing. Perfectly crunchy with curtido (Salvadoran sour crout or kimchee, which ever comparison sounds more delectable to you) was just like we eat it back in El Salvador. I did not think I would have Salvadoran food this good in New Mexico but this spot really proved me wrong off of one visit. Also try their Kolashampan float. It is a cane sugar soda with ice cream is a nice twist on a Salvi favorite. read more

Oh, Gobble This. I kinda wish I could eat here every day? I'm Central American, so naturally, I'm a little more critical of places that offer its different cuisines. I grew up eating pupusas from street vendors and restaurants in Honduras, so they're a comfort food that bring me back to my childhood. And boy, did Gobble This have me reminiscing, but also looking forward to a bright future of delicious pupusas right here in ABQ. But it wasn't easy. It took me about 2 tries showing up in person only to find out it was closed (even during operating hours) and 1 phone call ahead to finally get to try this place out, but nevertheless, she persisted! And succeeded. I know that getting the food to-go isn't always the best option, but I was craving pupusas and only had a 30 min lunch break, so I did what I had to do. Regardless, the pupusas were amazing, with the garlic-spinach combo taking the cake. I've gone back to eat in the restaurant as well, and they're delicious every time. One of the things that surprised me the most was how crunchy and perfect the fried yuca was - I usually refuse to eat cooked other ways, but I can't help myself with these fries. Anyways, go here if you love pupusas, or any other Salvadorean foods. You won't regret it, but maybe just call ahead to make sure they're open! read more

Go. To. This. Place. We happened to walk by shortly before closing, and thought Salvadoran food sounded like a good option. We were totally blown away, and not just by the food, but by Nestor (the owner) and his staff. They were friendly and so proud of their place - as they should be! The Pastelitos and pupusas were awesome, as were the chips, salsa, and lightly-pickled cabbage, and the Yuca fries were amazing! We ended up eating here three times during our short stay in ABQ, and even joined them for (delicious, of course) breakfast burritos one morning. Don't miss this hidden gem!! read more

We stopped in yesterday, totally impromptu. We use Yelp, quit often to find the next hot spot. However, we were very turned off with the introduction to, Gobble This! First, if you are a walk in and don't have a reservation, which is not a requirement on there website, the hostess immediately told us, we had to pay $40 to talk to the chef? Secondly, since there was no one in the restaurant and Old Town was very busy. Hmm? She needs to work on her presentation, it was about the $40 dollars to talk to the chef, nothing was mentioned about the experience, past or what to expect as new customers. She said absolutely nothing about the food. They need a new script, maybe mini taco samplers might entice the customers in staying for more? No mention of their "self proclaimed amazing tacos". Lastly, we are residents of NM and know there are some amazing taco places around Albuquerque. These places will greet you with a smile, and glad you stopped. Globble This, charges $40 to talk to the chef, then tack on the new wage increase. This might fair well in Old Town but find it to be an injustice to other Taco vendors in the area. read more

With reviews this good, we were excited to try Gobble This (despite its name!), but wow, what a disappointment! Let's start with the decor: lighting is oddly bright inside, there's a random table with plates and a small rolling rack with assorted shirts that may or may not be for sale -- why? The only good thing is that there are activities for kids in one corner. Outside, wooden tables are crumbling. The only shaded table has a giant ant hole beneath it, making it unusable. When approaching the counter, the gruff chef/owner(?) barks out the menu to you "tacos, hot dogs, pupusas," without mentioning what is in the tacos and pupusas. There isn't even a handwritten menu in the place, much less a printed one. I love a good dive and all of this would be fine, except the prices were exorbitant. $15 for a single pupusa, $20 for 3 tiny tacos. Yes, I know it's Old Town, so one can expect to pay more, but $15 for an individual pupusa is extreme. There's a delicious pupusa spot literally a mile away that sells theirs for $2.95. Server was friendly but incompetent. Forgot our drink and the drink of the table next to us, only brought one set of utensils for 3 people. Bottom line, to the owner: if you want to be a dive, be a dive, but charge people accordingly. If you want to charge fine dining prices, your service and ambiance should reflect that, and it does not currently. read more

We were greeted as we were part of the family or long time friends by a staff standing at the back patio: I really loved that! After placing our order at the cashier we headed to the patio at the back of the restaurant, which we found it very pretty and homey but the wind hit there more aggressively than in the front of the restaurant. -- Overall it was a nice dinner and the tacos were very tasty.
