But very unhappy with their business practices. I received an " inital rental discount" rate and the contract reads it can be changed at any tine with 30 days notice given. Needless to say after the initial 4 months they increased my rental amount by 69%. I called and the manager said he would "see what he could do" and return my call - welp its been over a week and havent heard back. IMO they lure you in with a low rate then jack it up assuming you will just roll over and pay it rather than move your stuff. Do not recomend and will be moving to another facility. Even if I have to pay more then my "initial rental discount" rate at another facility, at least I won't be giving my money to Extra Space Storage.

I tried to call several times throughout the day, using both numbers listed, and got no response until after the third call (hours later). The response was a text message. We set up a time to discuss more the next day and when I tried to call during that time, both numbers were connected to a phone that was turned off. I sent a follow up message confirming that I still (against my better judgement) would like to continue with the rental. I received no response. I hate extra space storage but I had to eventually call them and get a unit there because of the lack of response from Big Bertha (and generally the vibe that Big Bertha doesnt need my money/are unconcerned with my patronage - which is their prerogative, but is really an unfortunate way to conduct business). TLDR: cool spot and convenient location, but with poor management and poor customer service.

The hallways and units literally smell of rodent urine, and the ground is covered in feces. Several times, we heard rats running through the HVAC ducts. The ductwork tape is now falling from the ceiling, and rat feces are literally stuck to the tape. The facility did nothing to address the significant infestation. To top it off, last month, we were notified that due to market analysis and demand, our monthly rate for our 5x5 unit (the smallest size available) was being increased from $70/month to $130/month....which is comical considering the condition of this storage facility. We could not get out of there quick enough!

For a long time this storage facility was a hot mess. There was zero security measures in place. It's very easy to slip inside the gate if you follow behind another vehicle. Once inside the entry gate the buildings were accessible to anyone without a code at one time and anyone could also get on the elevator to go to any floor. It was extremely unsafe. It took a murder happening on the premises to change all of that. Since the murder, there are security measures in place and codes are required to enter everything now. I am glad that there is finally more safety measures , it is just sad it took a murder for this to happen.

The space around my unit is extremely tight, and a large truck is parked in the roadway at all times, making access impossible. Today, I finally spoke with an employee about the lights not working in my unit. She cut me off with, "My lights work just fine." When I explained they don't turn on, she dismissed me and said, "I don't need your attitude here. Everything works just fine, smartass." Not a greeting when I said hello, not a smile when I approached to report a maintenance problem, but already humiliated me with her insults and I professionalism. At least make eye contact and stop playing solitaire for one second. Who In their right mind takes a concern as a personal attack if I'm a paying customer asking for a working light in a pitch black looking cave so I don't trip over dirt and spiders just to have a usable access to my unit. Being interrupted and dismissed instead of helped is completely unacceptable. People complain about being replaced by robots. Put it to a customer vote with that nasty attitude, it's a no brainer what would happen at the public storage.

My furniture is covered in mold. I was not informed of the flooding and only discovered it when I went to move my things to my new home. I had to replace the linens, sofa, and clothes for a three bedroom house. Based on price, quality, and lack of customer service they do not deserve the 1 star. Also the employees are not reliable as they often quit and are no shows.
