After trying the Fish & Chips at Rehoboth, and almost swerved off the road when I saw this location - and wondered, the same? IT IS! You walk in and receive the info that the Mini Cooper is NOT for sale - the same decor exists and welcomes you in. Within less than 10 minutes we received our meal and I ordered a double order of fish, chips,(the original) and the potato soup - it was D E L I C I O U S - it was amazing. The welcome was great, it was a perfect stop for the first snow on the eastern shore, and hit the spot perfectly. Right off of Rt. 1 heading south before you hit all of the outlets, lies a little 'pub' called go Brit! I'm not a huge fish & chips guy, but I did like what Go Brit! had to offer. For $11 you can get a huge piece of beer battered fish on top of a bed of thick cut fries. Not the healthiest thing to eat, but you should have known that before entering the restaurant. The fries use a very coarse sea salt for flavoring and each table has a bottle of malt vinegar to add kick to your fries. From the time I walked in until about midway through our visit, every song on the speaker was an old British Invasion tune. While genres did change eventually, all the music is what I would classify as true Oldies (50's and 60's) with a heavy emphasis on British artist. You may not like the music, but I actually grew up listening to it. The whole restaurant is operated by 3-4 people. One person handles the counter, one brings food to your table, one fries up the food. You are asked politely (through their napkin dispensers) to dispose of your own food. I don't think anyone minds terribly. Overall good experience. Would go there again when in the area and want deep fried goodies. read more

Ate here for the 2nd time on our weeklong trip at Dewey Beach. Picked up some fish and chips and clam strips on the way home and it hit the spot. We ate here twice in one week which tells you how much we liked it. The crispy outerlayer of the fish is unparalleled. It's weird how they even got it to be so fluffy / crispy. My friend had the fish and chips that were awesome! Very fresh fish battered nicely. I got the Shepherds Pie. The gal warned me it would be ground beef which was fine for me but the amount of salt in the beef mixture was crazy! I'm a salt person so I had my friend taste it to tell me what the seasoning was. I'm a fish & chip fan and have been passing by this place for years and since I'm down here now, decided to give the place a try. You order your food at the counter and they give you a numbered card and will bring the food to your table. The place is clean and the food came out within 15 minutes. Looking for some great fish and chips? Go Britt is the place to go! The batter in the fish and shrimp looks clunky and heavy, but when you bite into it, it is light and crispy. The portion of fish that you get is huge. In fact my hubby and I often share. The coconut shrimp is good and the sauce they serve with it is sweet AND spicy. The crab cake is 90% crab. Having been to the UK multiple times, I can say that the food here truly resembles that of "British food." The fish I had was very well done - fried to a light crisp! Go Brit actually serves well fried food, not like that mushy gooey stuff that you get at other restaurants. Moreover, the restaurant was themed and decorated very well. They owner clearly spared no details, from the Mini sitting in the restaurant, to the way your food is presented. But where this restaurant looses stars is in service. Despite the cashier telling me that my food would be out in a couple of minutes, I had to wait what felt like 10 minutes for my food. (A tad soggy and did not seem like the chips are made from real potatoes . . . Maybe reconstituted potatoes?). We went on a Saturday. This place is great! Tucked away in the corner of a shopping mall,a hidden treasure of delicious fish. Very easy process to order, with a great big menu up front and friendly staff to explain everything. Our cashier was very professional and the front display caught our attention quick, along with the cool wall paintings. As for the food, each person in the group was very impressed with their order. Some good, some not so good... actually, pretty bad. The positives: The fries were excellent - hand-cut and perfect. London Pride on draft - awesome! The negatives: The fish was mushy, while the breading was over-fried and overly thick - leaving the lingering taste of overcooked batter on my palate.... Ugh! The menu lacks for a balance of healthier options; ordering a healthier dish here would be like going to a burger-chain and ordering a fruit salad. There are a couple of choices here if you are desperate to avoid fried food, but fried food is what they do. That's unfortunate, because I will occasionally have a compelling urge to quite literally "Go Brit" and split a fish 'n chips with the wife and imbibe a London Pride or two. A Great place for Fish and Chips, the decor is all British style, cool british music playing and a fast casual set up. The prices are ok, but the amount of food you get is large. Very fresh fish. I am not a fish eater but I love theirs there is no fishy taste or smell. Its easy to get to, fast and great staff. In the winter they have specials for locals.
