I have done all the work in my house over the last 25 years, but decided the effort and skill to remodel a kitchen was the job of a pro. Turning everything over to someone else was not an easy decision. However, it worked out far better than we had ever envisioned. After getting five quotes, and speaking with five contractors, we chose Steve Hopps and "Old School." Steve showed genuine interest in making our kitchen beautiful and unique. While not the least or most expensive, Steve seemed to offer something none of the other contractors offered: professional craftsmanship and a concern to get it exactly as we dreamed it would be. Our choice proved to be perfect. In every step of the way, Steve was on target. When unforeseen issues turned up, Steve suggested solutions that were right on target. He worked closely with out cabinet company, the electrician, plumber, and flooring people. He also had a hand in all of these aspects to keep the work flowing smoothly. He worked quickly and efficiently. He explained what he was doing, and his workmanship is not just professional, but the work of a true craftsman. When tiling the backsplash, he even rotated tiles placing some in the best place for a better look and flow. Only an artist, a person with a deep love of perfection would do this. Steve Hopps did all of this for us. I would highly recommend Old World Remodeling to any one. Quality, affordability, craftsmanship, personability, and results are all 10s. Choosing Old School Remodeling was the best decision we have ever made concerning our home. When it is time to do the bathrooms, Steve will be doing them, no questions asked!!!! One can do no better than using this company for any remodeling in his house.

It was in extremely poor shape. We contacted Joe the owner of Decks NJ and in a week or so he came by to give us an estimate and his vision of what we could do. We wanted to save some money and not remove the existing substructure and Joe had the integrity to be honest with us and tell us it was in workable shape. Joe listened to what we wanted and provided his expert opinion... (much if not all of which we agreed with). He went to work and sent us graphical drawings (which looked very real) and our new deck just jumped out at us. We had to have it! We negotiated a very fair price with Joe and he and his team spent the next few weeks building our dream deck. If you are looking for an artist who will listen to his customers and work very hard to please look no further. Joe and his team are meticulous about every detail and want the deck and the experience to be the best in the business.. it shows.

I really wish Yelp had more reviews for contractors. We had decided to build a deck using Trex's…read morematerial and found Freeborne on the Trex website as the top rated deck builder in the area. We found this reputation to be highly deserved. Let me start by saying these guys build decks. They're not making a deck one week, building a basement the next week, painting the week after that. They simply make decks, and they make them extremely well and quickly. Our contact at Freeborne was Lenny and he was always very prompt to respond. He came out to see what we wanted to do, gave us a detailed quote, breaking out a few options we were undecided on including at that time. He told us they would build us a we would love, then send us a bill for that amount, not a penny more. Their crew of 3 had our deck built in no time and we couldn't be happier. We talked to five different people about the deck. Freeborne won in every respect: Time- Others we talked to said the deck would take anywhere between 1 and 3 weeks after the footings were in. Freeborne said it would be 2 days. They actually finished in 1 day + 3 hours. Price- It wasn't even close. Freeborne came in well under the other bids. Part of this is certainly due to the speed with which they build. I was talking to one of the guys on the crew and he said they are one of the largest Trex dealers in the country. I can't verify if this is actually the case, but they are almost certainly saving significant material cost due to this as well. Honesty- Talking to Lenny always gave us a good impression. Beyond that, the way they conduct business eliminates the worry of them disappearing with your money. It really was a great experience working with Freeborne.

We knew we wanted Trex. At first we had George work out a 50/50 project to quote. My wife and I liked George right off of the bat. Great guy and knows his stuff. His price was right in line with the others. His knowledge and pictures of previous work, sold us. Once the deck was underway, George made some suggestions. Yes, it was more money and yes, I started to get overwhelmed with cost. That was one me, not George. His price was more than fair. So, at one point, we decided to go "all in" with Trex and lights and nice railings..... George's team was awesome. They were efficient and clean. There was never garbage strewn around our yard. The entire project took a week and the end result was WAY beyond what we originally hoped for. An added bonus was the way George built the support for the decking. Our town inspector put it best.... "The support for this deck is beyond code." When we started planning, there weren't a lot of reviews for Deck Experts which worried me. I wanted to make sure to publish a review for anyone with doubts. I would recommend George and his crew to anyone looking for a deck build or redo. You will have zero regrets and as a salesman, George is informative not pushy. Trust his design and his finished work. You'll be more than pleased with the end result.
