Art runs a good ship there. Took my corvette c5 with some odd quirky things that they couldn't figure out but did diagnose my AC leak and short-to-ground steering rack. Needs to back in for a bit more sorting but I was pleased with knowledge, responsiveness, and price. Will go back. read more

AAA towed our GM van here. Art quoted us $2200 for a lower intake gasket replacement and new brakes. Luckily the AAA tow guy referred us to Allen Auto nearby. We paid a total of $750 for the same work quoted by Art at GM Exclusives! read more

Had a GREAT experience with these guys! They were honest about things that they needed to fix and advised me that some things I requested did not need to be done after all. They even gave me referrals for shops that were great for things they could not work on. Great value and I will be taking my GM trucks here for service in the future. read more

I've taken my car to three different dealerships for a problem that wasn't fixed at any of them. On recommendation, I brought my car to GM Exclusive Auto Service and they not only fixed the problem, but they also were professional, efficient, and did the work for what I felt was a great value. I would highly recommend. read more

Wow! Best service ever! Honest and always updating on service. Art went above and beyond to help me with my 2002 C5 Corvette. Runs like a charm! A huge thank you to all the guys at GM Exclusive! read more

We took our car to West Automotive in Oceanside and that was a complete waste of our time and money. After having our car for 4 days, they were not able to tell us what was wrong. We originally had taken it in because we had a Stabilitrac Warning Light come on and while driving we had lost power to the vehicle. West was not able to tell us what was wrong with the car. Remembering that there was a Chevy/GM Shop in Vista, we brought our Chevy Traverse to GM Exclusives immediately after leaving West Automotive. Within 10 minutes they were able to provide us with a Code C0161 which indicated that there was an issue with the Stabilitrac Braking System Switch. AMAZING....10 Minutes and we had a code. Anyway, they made the necessary repairs and we have not had an issue since then. We tried to get a refund from West Automotive, but we were told that since the Technicians took our car out for a test drive, they would not refund our $150.00. If you are looking for a reliable and honest shop, I would highly recommend GM Exclusives. read more

They helped me level my transmission fluid without charging for a full service. Thanks guys.

My first time here and I took my Corvette in for an inspection and was charged for a full hour labor for a ~20 minute inspection! Great service and very knowledgeable but very disappointed with the cost... read more

I've been taking my old Buick Le Sabre to GM Exclusive for years and you could not persuade me to go anywhere else. This is a reputable business, Art is honest, will not scalpel you, and his ethics are incomparable to any other shop I've been to. I would not be surprised if I got told that the service here is better, more financially reasonable, or that it surpasses the services from any GM dealership. Art does not need expensive commercials to tout the professionalism and quality of his services. Word of mouth from all of those who bring their vehicles to him, regardless if it's for an usual oil change or something more complicated will be living proof of why he has a loyal customer base. read more

As people have pointed out Art and his crew are amazing. If you take your card here for inspection or repair, you're not going to be disappointed. What you will be is happy because you have not been overcharged and you're going to get an honest opinion as to what needs to be dealt with your car now and then later. Businesses like this in my opinion are special and rare and the world would be a better place if we had more of them! Thanks Art!!!! read more

Another great trip to the mechanic. My Cruze needed to be serviced, Art got me right in while doing it he found that I had something else going on. He then called me and sent me a picture of what needed to be fixed. He took care of the problem. It was something that if allowed to go on would have gotten expensive. It cost a little more but saved big trouble down the road. Thank you Art for being so compa read more

If you need a second opinion this is the place to go. Better yet, go here first. I took my car elsewhere for a coolant flush and was told I needed a new radiator turned out they had tampered with the hose to convince me, if I had gone ahead with the work I would not have known I was being scammed. I have learned a lesson and will stick with GM Exclusive. read more

If I could post 10 stars I would. After 11 years and numerous visits to GMC and Chevrolet dealer ships I was about to throw in the towel on my nice older GMC Envoy. It had an electrical gremlin that would just stop it in it's tracks. Every time I thought it was repaired it might run for weeks or years. Or run for 8-10 miles or 8-10 thousand miles and all of sudden stop running. Very unnerving and dangerous. As mentioned before, three visits, numerous parts, LOTS of money, and weeks of time at the dealerships never solved the problem. They just threw parts at it. Never truly finding the cause of the troubles. GM EXCLUSIVE AUTO SERVICE had great reviews so I booked an appointment. A short time after dropping it off I had a call from the owner Art Montano. EUREKA.....he found the problem. A loose wire/connector buried deep in an electrical harness that grounded the main engine computer (PCM, or Power Control Module) . He repaired the wire and the connector and put it all back together. Starts right up and runs better than ever. A HUGE THANK YOU to Art and his shop for the expertise and tenacity in solving this problem. Art and his shop do a fantastic job at a very reasonable rate. If you're looking for top notch technical skills, experience, and excellence in customer service......GM EXCLUSIVE AUTO SERVICES is the place to go! read more

Stand up shop. Art got me in super quick even though he seemed to be pretty busy with a ton of vehicles when I dropped my hunk of junk van off to him. On that note, he dealt with my hunk of junk van... that deserves 5 stars in itself. He diagnosed my van, gave me a straight answer with an estimate and some decent advice. If I stay with GM for any of my future vehicles, I will sure bring it back to Art. read more

Had some strange issues with my truck. Drop in mileage, loss of power, running cold and no check engine light, so no trouble codes to go on. Was worried about taking my truck to GM Exclusive because these symptoms could be caused by any number of expensive issues. They called to tell me that unfortunately they can't sell me anything since the only problem I have is a loose spark plug. Finding an honest and trustworthy mechanic is like finding gold. I highly recommend these guys. read more

This review is way overdue. Three oil changes on my wife's 2003 Chevy Trail Blazer and my 2002 Chevy Silverado truck. Replaced all radiator and heater hoses on the truck. New radiator on the Trail Blazer due to a bad leak. And just had a new air conditioner installed in the Trail Blazer. I told the owner, Art, why I was bring my vehicles to GM Exclusive. He had my car done at the time he promised even though he had to hurry, which really made me appreciate their services even more! Art and his wife have been a breath of fresh air. It seems less and less unfortunately, to come by honest men/women who want to earn your trust and continued business. First of all, I've inherited my father's Silverado, so the vehicle is special to me. I've taken my truck to Art for everything from oil change and general maintenance to some very specific things like the speedometer and recently, someone tried to steal the vehicle. They took off the shroud around the steering wheel and tried to hotwire it. I feel like I could've been taken advantage of if I had taken it somewhere else. Art was able to repair the damage using what was unharmed and replacing what was broken. I paid less than my deductible. It was worth every penny of the extra $$$ I paid AAA to tow it farther to Art's GM Exclusive. Extra clean shop, honest, quick and I have yet to have to return to have something "re-repaired". Highly recommended. read more

The owner Art has more than enough knowledge and experience when it comes to the automobiles he works on. I can honestly say his shop and staff have been the most professional I have ever come across in the auto repair industry. I take my 2008 GMC Yukon to Art for everything from routine oil changes to anything I am considering to modify. Never once has Art tried to sell me anything I didn't need. Art won all my business the first time he serviced my Yukon and as long as I live in San Diego he will have my business. read more
