AWFUL. While getting my stereo installed, I saw the owner yell and MAN-HANDLE a customer who'd come to return a non-working stereo he'd bought just a few days prior. The owner accused the customer of breaking the stereo without even looking at it! I knew this business was bad news right there and then, but my car was almost done so I stuck around. Now to MY bad experience: They disconnected the traction feature in my car. I didn't find this out until I went to get my car smogged a few weeks later and they couldn't do it, because the tires wouldn't rotate on the rollers. So I took it to the dealer and after their inspection the rep asked me if I'd had a new stereo installed, because they had messed with the wiring. That little fix cost me $125 which I'll never recover, because they'll deny they did it. Stay away from this business, no matter how good their deals sound! read more

Did a hack job installing the radio screws are backing out and falling on the floor of my car where they removed parts to do the install. Never never never again. Also watched him try to buy good Yelp reviews. "I will upgrade your amp to this one for free....just give me a good yelp review." This is a very difficult review to write. I have been to GM on multiple occasions. I had my stereo installed with a 12" sub-woofer and 2600 watts of amplification in my car. All of this did not go without a hitch, unfortunately. I was not educated on car stereos and I did not know I needed a stereo (deck) with sub-woofer control to get the bass effect. That being said, I had the sub-woofer speaker installed with an amp and a basic deck - only to get stereo sound. Admittedly, it was loud, but there was no bass effect. Not happy. I was quite clear in what I wanted when I explained that what I wanted was a stereo with bass - but a standard stereo with loud sound was all I got. So, when I brought it back with the complaint that there was no bass, I was told I needed a deck with sub-woofer control. Naturally, not knowing stereo systems, I assumed this was my fault. I traded back the deck and sub-woofer for less than the actual value credit. I was left feeling a little ripped off by this purchase because I made it clear what I wanted in the first place was a bass pumping stereo. I ended up buying another deck (with sub-woofer control) and a pair of 12" speakers to match the amplifier and necessary sound components. Funny thing happened to me on my way to play my first CD at the shop. I couldn't put the CD in... There was a CD already stuck inside the DECK! The technicians worked quickly to fix this embarrassment, but I don't really think anybody there was embarrassed - it was just business as usual there. Ultimately, I got what I wanted. However, the costs to upgrade the system to what I originally explained that I wanted was quite high. This left me with the feeling that I had been played for a sucker. I had to bought new equipment for a bass pumping stereo - only to have to sell it back at a loss - to get bass pumping sound. Wow! Not knowing any better, I left the store with my bass thumping. Yay! Incidentally, all these dealings were with "Bashier." the younger owner of this stereo dealership. Fast forward a few years. I recently bought a Suburban with a top quality sound system, a top quality video DVD player, and it's all combined with console as well as steering wheel controls. The only thing it lacked was an IPod port for my wife's IPod player Naturally, my wife wanted IPod control, so I went back to GM to remedy this situation. Now, knowing full well that the DVD player and stereo player was most likely a proprietary system and completely integrated, I asked to buy a deck that had IPod control. I also stated that I suspected that the system was an integrated system and inquired as to whether or not a new deck would affect the DVD player and JBL sound system. This time I was dealing with the "old man" of the dealership. He assured me that the new deck would NOT affect the DVD player and that I would still enjoy the proprietary JBL system. So, yes, I had a new IPod supportive deck installed. JBL sound - obliterated! DVD player - non operational! Console controls - wiped out! I informed the, "old man" (Bashier's father) of this massive audio/video failure. This, so called, car stereo "expert" had me talk to the technician that installed the deck. The technician immediately informed me that he knew, before installing the new deck, it would wipe out all my proprietary functions. Then, he casually informed me that if I wanted IPod control, I would have to go to the Ford dealership. So, if someone could tell me why the hell they disabled my entire audio/video system to install a non-functional piece of crap, I might not be writing this review. Now, the final straw... I knew from experience that I was not going to get my money back! The "old man" wanted to give me back $90.00 of the $150.00 it cost for the deck and install. The deck was only $100.00! It took me a half-hour of convincing the "old man" that I should get at least the cost of the deck back - because he would be reselling it as new anyway (yes, they install and reinstall pre-sold decks - whatever the problem may be - glad I had experienced that). In conclusion, I don't necessarily blame these guys for wanting to make a buck. I don't think I could be as ruthless as these guys are, but I don't own a shop! Anyway, if you really know your stuff about the nuisances and irregularities that can occur by adopting an after market stereo system, maybe you can make sense out of GM Electronics and their philosophies of installing after market parts. Maybe just buying the accessories and installing them yourself is the best way to do business with them. However, be ready to battle for your money back or an even exchange on purchases. NO JOKE! If you have a car with a basic stereo system, and you want to get it updated, maybe this is the place to go. (Note, I am not TOTALLY bagging on these guys!) If you have a car with a premium factory audio/video system - FORGET THIS PLACE! Honestly, go somewhere else. read more

G.M. Electronics helped me pull off thee greatest christmas gift for my girlfriend. Her car had many technical problems and they were able to fix all of them! On top of that they are extremely knowledgable! The owner knew exactly what was the right speakers, stereo system, and bass to put into the car. I took his advice on everything, and the car couldn't sound better. Also, I was surprised to see how fast they finished my car. I thought that the magnitude of my project would have at-least taken two days, but they were able to finish it right when I needed it. On top of that, costumer service is amazing. When I went to pick the car up, I noticed a few problems with my vehicle and I asked the employee, Victor, if he could help fix them. He said, " No problem, I have this covered". And he really did, he fixed every single problem with my car and extremely fast. What really got me though, was that the business was just about to close, and he stayed and helped me when he could have easily said no. I took my car to GM and got new bigger tires and rims and for 3 years i had the car i never had to change the wheels. Sadly i sold my camaro this year and i an very sad about it and i have been looking for this shop for months because i forgot the name. He said he had 3 Cars ahead of us but he will work on it instead. Been waiting for almost 2 hours here and they still haven't checked my car. So as I am tight with my money I spent about 2 weeks searching the internet deciding if I wanted to install a system myself or find a local shop to the the work for me. As there are a few dealers in the area I went and talked to them all and looked up their reviews online. and even took pictures of the decks and remote starts they were quoting me to see how they priced vs online. I must say that GM did not have the best reviews and some of the reviews were right on the money. They do have a rag tag crew of kids installing radios and chilling and having a good time at work. I would rather have a happy crew than a pissed off crew. Sure the shop looks a little run down and out dated. And sometimes they are so busy they dont get to right away. Patients paid off..... For the Deck and Remote Start: After talking to multiple shops on price alone GM Elec is hands down cheaper than the rest. I was quoted $700 for a deck and $450 for a remote start at other local dealers. I ended up paying $650 for both. As to not hammer his name "J" and Bashire were most helpful and answered all my questions. The install was clean and to my satisfaction. I tested all the devices and remote start before I left the shop and all worked as designed perfectly. Part 2: This is how impressed I was. I went back a week later and them install all new speakers to replace the factory ones and even had an amp and 2 - 10" kickers installed. All in all I spent about $1400 over a 2 week period and got remote start and a completely new stereo system installed. Bottom line is this. Yes companies have bad days and sometimes bad things happen. Sometimes they get so wrapped up in trying to help everyone that some fall through the cracks. But if you want a professionally installed system, good quality advice from a knowledgeable crew. Who best to go to that the rag tag kids that love their car stereos with a passion. So if you are willing to show some patients it could pay off in a killer system at a great price. A Note: Javier installed my head unit and remote start. I liked his work so much that I requested he do the speakers and kicker. He did a great job and it all had a cleaned installed looked. I have already started looking at putting a better system in the Girlfriends car. Who do you think I am gunna go back to. Only reason for a 4 star and not a 5. I would have liked a little basic education on how to use the remote start, dvd bypass, and some of the features I had to work with them on to turn off on the alarm system. This is my own lack of knowledge as I have never had a good system. The extra mile woulda been a nice touch. Oh and one more thing..... To those of you who complain about installation costs. You have to understand. Discounted installation is for labor. Some harnesses and wiring that is required to work with you car cost alot of money. The one and only shop that I go to when I need any custom work done on my car. If you're not in the area, I'd say it's worth the drive for the money you could save and the quality of work they do. I went in to get my amp reinstalled after losing my receipt and Muhammad was still happy to help me out. After looking at their inventory I also decided to purchase a full pioneer speaker system and they gave me a great deal on the gear + install. My technician's name was Darryl and my experience with him was the most professional interaction I've ever had at a shop like this. He was sure to let me know what he was going to do and was extra careful with all of my door panels during the install. This place deserve no stars or SHIT. I just came to this place to get checked for my radio because i came here to get it installed a few weeks ago. The short dude who always be at the store said that he will work on it because there are appointments but that he will take care of us. Waited for 2 hours for him because he wanted to have hella cigarettes break, talk to his friends and show off his car. On his phone talking to whoever the whole entire time. He got a drink thrown at him because he wanted to be an asshole to his customer. Two hours passed he drove our car to the back then told us he wont be working on our car anymore because something is wrong with my radio when its brand new. And that he "checked" our car already when thats a lie because all he did was park my car and did no investigating. The most irritating part is that he couldve told us since the beginning that he couldnt work on my car but decided to tell us 2 hour later. Bashier and company have installed stereo equipment in my boat and several cars. Prices are the best around and they always make things right. My most recent experience with a backup camera did take a few visits to get right because the camera's would stop working, but they upgraded me at no charge and things work great now. The place is really busy, so consequently, I usually leave my car and give them plenty of time to get the work done (not everyone has that option, but I live close). I'm only giving 4 stars because the place is pretty hectic, so some times you do feel a bit rushed and you don't always get to demo the product before you commit to the install, but that's because its a small shop. Honda Van: full tint $99 Scion XB : HID light $99 Today BMW M3: HID headlight and fog lights $140 James is very knowledgeable and gives good service. I will give him 10 stars for his customer service etiquette. I give the company 3 stars due to the following. There is room for improvement. 1. Scion XB problem. The HID's were installed but it was way off. Pretty much pointing out in the sky. I brought it back and the installer said " that is how it is". I said no there is just for this. I get a frown...so I left. After going to the Internet for 5 minutes I figured it out and did the adjustment myself. Solution? Before saying no. Check the Internet. 2. Long wait time for my BMW for the HID lights. I was told 1 hour but it is more than 2 now...still waiting. Solution: just tell me it could take longer I could've gone home and picked up the car later. 10/5/15 I brought my BMW for a deck install...like I said before, it is better if you leave your car there and let them do it. Took it in the morning and by the time I got it done it was dinner time. The new Bluetooth deck is great and I am happy until I saw my glove compartment not completely closing due to the installation they did. I called GM and spoke to Bashir/Owner he said bring it back and he will take care of it. Brought it back the next and James took care of it. In life things happen...and no one is perfect.
