10/20/2018 So I had to come back and express how pleased I am with how JERIUS(hope I spelled it right), NOT RACHEL, rectified the situation... when I went back to get the windows re-done, he had already read the review and was waiting for me to arrive. He happily got his guys to redo the tint and he told me that he would give a substantial discount if I did more business with him(to show that he was sincerely apologetic for not only what happened, but how Rachel handled the situation). I was a bit skeptical but once I saw the "substantial" discount on the equipment I was looking to install in my Camaro I couldn't turn him down! Long story short I'm 150% satisfied with the work that was done and how he handled the the prior situation like a professional businessman. I will be going back to have more work done to my cars but I can only do business with him because he knows how to do it right. I feel the need to share my experience with fellow Yelpers about this wonderfully run car audio shop. A few years ago, I made the mistake of purchasing a Cadillac Deville and my first instinct was to install a Audio/Video system. I came across GM Electronic's ad in a weekly East Bay paper and like many others, I was attracted by their low prices. I made a phone call and followed up with their advertised special and sure enough, I made my way to Concord. I purchased a 15" drop down and a DVD player for about $500 including installation. My installation was scheduled and I was promised the work to be completed within a few hours. Instead of heading home, I went down the street and watched two movies at the theater. With two movies watched and still no phone call, I made my way back to the shop. As I approached the shop, the doors were closed and the lights were off, but my car was outside. I luckily came across a person locking the front door and asked about my car and what was going on. He replied that the job was done and I asked why I wasn't called and he did not have an answer. Had I not ran into the employee, I would of been stuck in Concord with no means of getting back to the East Bay. Nevertheless, it was dark and the shop was closed, and I was given my keys and work order. I headed home and played with my new drop down and powered on the screen and the DVD player. Surprisingly, the DVD player powered on but I was unable to insert a disc. Upon closer examination, the DVD player had a DVD/CD jammed inside. I disconnected the player and noticed it was scuffed and scratched. I couldn't believe they installed such garbage and didn't care to test their installation. I headed back the next day and was given another DVD player, a new one, I assume, but lost me as a returning customer. I would strongly suggest any potential customers to stay away from GM, as their products are cheap and potentially used. GM Electronic's is essentially a brick and mortar version of Craigslist. read more

So I had my whole ass stereo system put in her about a year ago. I LOST THE RECEIPT as most of us do so no warranty. I expected that as it makes perfect scenes. So Rachell informed me of the diagnostic fee (which I agreed to) and had a tech take a look. FUCK! I needed a new AMP. Ok not in budget! HOWEVER Rachell worked it to get me the best quality for the right price. So with the diagnostic fee and the new AMP... I spent $$ I wasn't expecting to but I can't go another week with out SLAP! All in all I'm very happy with Rachell and her customer service! Not to mention she gave me a little tip... TAKE A PICTURE OF YOUR RECEIPTS!!!!! The best experience ever for a car stereo install/purchase! I went in on a Saturday and was helped by a young man who was mello, patient and calm. No hard sales, just helpful. I asked about my car. He looked it up and showed me an install kit that was needed. Normally, this is where most places get you on kits and wiring and installs. $35.00 plus free install on the deck! I looked up just the deck on Amazon which showed top ratings but was only $40.00 more and that was just for the stereo! So they really only charged $40.00 for all the labor and taxes! Awesome! Went in to get it installed and the owner was more than helpful and pleasant! They got it all done in less than 30 minutes! Looks awesome, sounds incredible and the price was hard to believe as it was way lower than I expected! 100% happy and would recommend this place to everyone! read more

Worse place ever the guys are so lazy, my brother dropped off his car at 12 pm on a Friday and was told he was one vehicle away he returned at 430pm to pick up his truck and was told it was not ready then we went back at 6pm and they just had started on changing the wheels. We sat inside my vehicle just looking at them and all they were doing was walking around acting stupid took them a whole hour and a half to change some fuckn wheels. This will be our first and last time I hope others look for better options than this one. I certainly dont recommend it. read more

I ride solo bolo ALL THE TIME and this particular time me my my bruh was riding to the store. I stayed in while he bounced out (passenger side door). No biggie. Then my song came on, I'm like let me turn it up. Well when I did, I noticed the hi's was high and only the speakers in the front was on. I'm like oh, let me turn the bass up (thinking I turned it down subconsciously). That's when I noticed it didn't work along with the 6x9's in the back! I'm like what the heck! So I started the car then BOMB! bass back on, along with the hi's, the speakers in the front and the 6x9's in the back, but I noticed the hi's are low, like muted some the way they fixed it to be. (Still think that filter or whatever they did set my hi's only to go so high, follow me?) Then I turned the car off. Everything was still working all in sync. Bruh comes out the store opens the passenger door and the whole back of the system shuts off, and only the hi's and speakers in the front are playing. I'm like...........did they rig my music to work so I would STOP GOING UP THERE AND CALLING? To make sure I wasn't tripping I told my brother about it and we tested it out. He's like this don't supposed to do this. What if you wanna bump you're music with the door open? Now I'm mad all over again. I was just starting to get over it. Saturday evening I called the store and spoke with the manager who remembers me oh so well. I told him everything and he's like can you bring it down so I can look at it myself? I'm like you did the last two times -_- as nice as he was and as concerned as he appeared to be, I'm still waiting for him to return my call to either set me up with A. a courtesy car or B. a refund. I expressed my tiredness of this, and I also expressed that I understand there will be minor issues, but THIS is unacceptable! And I still wait............. Now would I be wrong if I hit them with a small claims suit? Now I'm really starting to feel like they thought they could do anything to make it work just to get rid of me. I don't even turn the mess on anymore. The joy I was hoping for via my music, sitting fours hours a day in this car is gone! I'm on the verge of going to another shop and have them redo everything verse me keep going back here, where there's obviously issues with the equipment AND the installers. read more

Ughh, I can't. Took me about 3 weeks to get my windows tinted AFTER it took me about a week to get through to someone to make an appointment. My first try making an appointment: really rude guy answered the phone, asked for my name and what type of truck I have. I let him know, he responds with the complete wrong information i JUST told him. Proceeds to ask for the make and model of my car only saying "we don't need your name it doesn't matter, you're booked" then hangs up on me, cool guy right? Customer service on point, right? So I guess my appointment was scheduled? A week later I show up, on time, to drop my truck off. "oh the tint guys isn't in today and we don't even have anyone on the schedule?" wtf.....OK. So reschedule for THREE WEEKS in advance 8am. THESE FOOLS DON'T EVEN OPEN UNTIL 10AM! I found that out when I showed up for my appointment. What the actual f... I come BACK to drop the truck off at 10am. They let me know it would be ready in two hours. It's 2:30pm and I have yet to hear from anyone. I finally reach out "ya the truck is ready" hung up on, again. I arrive to pick up my truck, looks fine. I go in to get my keys. LITERALLY as I'm leaving, like my foot is out the damn door, "oh ya don't get your windows wet and don't roll em down". At that point I just walked the F out. Customer service is fuc*ing key for business. I won't use these guys anymore and nor will I recommend that anyone go to see them. I'll try Best Guys for my brother and sister's vehicle. Went to GM ELECTRONICS to upgrade my Prius original sound system, and I was ripped of $1,624.00 for 4 speakers, 2 tweeters, 1 amp, 1 sub and installation, went back a week later because the whole system sounded very @#&*@$£ to say the least, the owner tried to make all kinds of adjustments, lower the bass from the sub, moved the sound from the back to the front, blamed spotify and pandora of having poor quality of down loads and blablablabla. Made an appointment to try to have the problem solved, the guy is on the roof trying to fix something and told me it would take 1 hour before he could talk to me, I said no problem I'll wait as long as I leave satisfied. I live 40 minutes away and can literally go to any tire shop in my city. But I always make an effort to come to GM because they are fair and I don't feel like the price for me is different (because I am female). Everyone there is always polite, respectful and they do what they can to accommodate my schedule (and budget!). I know you don't get a fancy waiting room and it's not the most modern facility. But that's not what makes a tire business a good place to visit. Anyway, give them a chance. They all work hard for their business. read more

Absolutely the worst experience I've ever had. I came to this shop because my daughter told me about it it was the biggest mistake I could've made. I stopped by two weeks ago and spoke with a guy and told him what I wanted he told me that I would need a 5 channel Amp and said he had Memphis brand along with possibly changing speakers ( I had kicker speakers already ) he quoted me $800.00 I said ok and that I would be back in a week. I went back 5/4/19 and was told to come back 5/5/19 I came to the shop at 10 am spoke with nashir the manager told ( tried to tell him he didn't listen ) him what the other guy and I had spoke about and that I wanted the Memphis 5 channel Amp and the interface device for my car installed he quoted me $600.00. I ENDED UP PAYING $1000.00 he came to the waiting room and told me I needed to replace my dash and front door speakers which would $250.00 ( same two sets of speakers $170.00 online ) after sitting there from 10am to 3pm my car was done. I pay my tab and head home get down the block and the music kept going in and out I go back to the shop they investigate and found that the wires were crossed in the front door and dash speakers ( humm maybe I didn't need to replace my kicker speakers after all they never checked that he just sold me speakers I didn't need ) that didn't resolve the issue so I called for a ride and left the car while looking at the install I noticed the name on the Amp wasn't Memphis but instead Sonida Mask. The next morning I called and spoke with nashir and told him about the mix up that the Amp isn't the Amp I wanted he told me the Memphis Amp was more expensive like $500.00 I told him that I agree and that's what I thought the $600.00 quote was for that Amp and Harness. he said that he would have to charge me more for that amp. At that point this guy had my money and as you know once you pay someone cash they would do anything not to give you any back. With that said I picked my car up the next day and found out that the issue with the music going in and out was because the wires were crossed I said to him " that might've been the problem with the other speaker " lol this guy says "!your right " BUT DID HE DO THE HONEST THING and say let's put the old ones back and refund me my $ 250.00 minus labor for the dash and door speakers HE said I needed!! No HE DIDN'T. Smdh my music sounds good right now but I continue to have this feeling that I've been Robbed I'm 58 yrs old, trust and believe if I was 28, or 38 I wouldn't be writing a yep review there would definitely be trouble and a different outcome. but because I'm older I called him explained my concerns he wanted to argue and I'm not into arguing I will just end this with buyer beware this shop is a rip off. DONT USE THIS SHOP!!! Total hustle and a rip off. Of course I have nothing else to do but go around spending money with you are dealership looking to scam them. When Bashir found that the speakers were crossed after ad day the proper thing would be to refund the money I left this shop not pleased but realizing that when you deal with business like this your only recourse is the business being honest. I've made one other yelp review and unfortunately had to obtain an attorney and sue which I won I don't go around spending my money with the intent of writing yelp reviews and suing people if I was a happy customer I definitely wouldn't be spending my time on yelp. GM did a great job on the tint for my new work van! Was in and out in about an hour. From speaking to an associate on Saturday and setting up an appointment for Sunday the entire experience was exceptional. The owner was also there and I was able to discuss some future options for a back up camera. Their powered up live displays of head units allowed me to physically see the options they offer. I'll definitely be back when I'm ready to do some more electronic upgrades to my vehicles. read more

I'm very careful who I let work on my car. I have trusted their team to get the job done without any worry or problems. I recently got my window tint done here. They removed my old tint and put on much better quality tint on my new coupe. Honest working people who no wonder have been thriving off repeat customers. One of the only shops I know that do custom work at a fair price. They always seem to recommend something that fits well for my car instead of treating me like just another customer. This merchant charges a lot for the type of work perform. Their electronics and equipment are the cheapest intimations on brands and their technicians must be beginner techs or-apprentices as their work perform in my car cause burn fuses, power shortage, burn wires, carpet and panel. As they left peel wires and burn the inside. Also be careful, the owner never doesn't fix his errors and avoids all types of responsibilities in damages cause to your car after they work on it. They charge full price of a quality tech but they provide cheap parts and you end up paying 100 for a 12 dollar remote on alarm. The alarm is also the worse ones. They placed a 40 dollars alarm on my car and charge 459 for it. read more

I walked in to get tint on my wife 2 front windows for Benz suv . I tell him to match the darkness with the back windows when I went to pick up truck the shades did not match .. I still tried to give him some business by selling wheel rims and tires for the suv he didn't not place order and he didn't follow up after saying he will text me pics of the rims to choose from and he he knew this was important for to get this for my wife quick turnaround.. please don't waste your time with this place for anything you need to your car go somewhere else save your self a head ache .. the guy up front must be owner no other reason to have him helping people very unprofessional read more

BEWARE! We brought our car here to have a new deck installed about a month ago. Today, we learned that our recent ignition problems were caused by their car stereo installation. DO NOT bring your car here for stereo installs. The backstory: About 2 weeks after the radio was installed the key became stuck in the ignition. Our goto repair shop advised to have it looked at by a locksmith because it may just be a problem with the ignition cylinder. The locksmith came by and took out the ignition cylinder, he said there was nothing wrong with the cylinder and that it was a problem in the ignition safety switch. Down $50 and still no fix we decided to have the car diagnosed by our goto repair shop. Long story short our technician found the power cable for the stereo running over to and wrapped around one of the teeth on the BCM (Body Control Module) fuse. He hooked up a scanner to the computer and was getting absolutely no response from the BCM. He believes that the stereo being hooked up to the BCM caused the BCM to short out and fail. BCM controls the ignition and thus my safety switch isn't working. Interesting factoid, A BCM repair can ONLY be done at a dealership. We went down to the Concord Chevy dealership and got a rough quote of just under $500 for a new BCM + labor. When we explained the whole problem to the Chevy Service manager said he has seen several cars come through their service center with similar problems with after market stereos installed by GM Electronics. He mentioned GM Electronics by name before we even told him that our stereo was installed there.... When we confront the owner of GM Electronics about this and asked them to cover to the cost of repairs we were informed they are not liable for the problem. So now we are left with legal action or to just eat the cost of the repairs. Again, STRONGLY advise you look elsewhere when considering a stereo installation. read more

Also when your car is ready, they say they will call you and you have to call them because they never call you. Then they'll say "Yeah your car's been ready for a while now." AWFUL. While getting my stereo installed, I saw the owner yell and MAN-HANDLE a customer who'd come to return a non-working stereo he'd bought just a few days prior. The owner accused the customer of breaking the stereo without even looking at it! I knew this business was bad news right there and then, but my car was almost done so I stuck around. Now to MY bad experience: They disconnected the traction feature in my car. I didn't find this out until I went to get my car smogged a few weeks later and they couldn't do it, because the tires wouldn't rotate on the rollers. So I took it to the dealer and after their inspection the rep asked me if I'd had a new stereo installed, because they had messed with the wiring. That little fix cost me $125 which I'll never recover, because they'll deny they did it. Stay away from this business, no matter how good their deals sound! read more

Had a pair of Infinity Kappas installed in the front doors of my wife's Kia Sorrento, should've been a straightforward install. Instead the wiring into the factory amp was so bad, my ride sounded like a Close 'n Play :( Prices are cheap, but in my case I got what I paid for; my speakers were swapped out, but not what I would call "installed". Scam! Had them install a radio took them 6 hours said it would be done in 2. Wanted to buy an amp tried to charge me more than double the cost I can get it online for new. Did a hack job installing the radio screws are backing out and falling on the floor of my car where they removed parts to do the install. Never never never again. Also watched him try to buy good Yelp reviews. "I will upgrade your amp to this one for free....just give me a good yelp review."
