It's not some huge flashy restaurant -- it feels local, authentic, and packed with personality. Service was extremely fast, and everyone there seemed genuinely cool and welcoming. The house beer was surprisingly really good too. One thing that caught me off guard was that they only accept cash, so definitely bring cash with you before going. Also, the fried chips they serve as a side were ridiculously good. Simple but addicting. Overall, if you're in Boulder and want a chill local spot with great food, quick service, good beer, and a relaxed atmosphere, definitely check this place out.

Our server didn't seem too happy that we showed up today, the food took about 30 minutes to get to us and the fried pickles and the Cuban weren't very yummy, we didn't finish either. Disappointing. However the French fries WERE very yummy! And the wrap was unique and pretty good. It's a large space and it was easy to find a seat. The artwork is beautiful. Luckily we found street parking so that was easy too. It's a cash only restaurant (or local personal checks) and while it wasn't a problem, we had cash, we probably wouldn't have come here had we known that beforehand. Credit card sales shouldn't be the consumers issue.

I absolutely love arepas and the second I saw this place in the Avanti food court I knew I had to get it because I've been craving good Venezuelan arepas rellenas for so long. I'm vegetarian which they had multiple options for and I decided on the 'La Original' arepa with black beans, plantains, and avocado, and I requested for cheese on it as well which they added free of charge. The arepa was everything I could've ever wanted and it didn't fall apart while eating it even though it was super full which was good because that does happen often with poorly made arepas. I also got the sweet fried plantains which had cheese and their special sauce and were so so good. The employees were kind and attentive and the food came out in about 5 minutes because there was pretty much no line. I loved this place and wish I lived in Boulder so I could get it more often. Si te hace falta una buena arepa venezolana, te juro que este lugar no te decepcionará, ni en su calidad, servicio al cliente, ni su autenticidad. Lo recomiendo con todo mi corazón y te juro que saldrás lleno y contento.

It's basically an elevated food hall with a few different restaurants, so it's perfect if you want something quick but still good quality. What I liked most is that you're not stuck choosing one place; my friend and I could each pick what we were in the mood for, and you can even mix and match from different spots. I got fish and chips from Rooted (upgraded to truffle fries for an extra charge) and a fresh lemonade from Boychik, and everything was delicious. Overall, a good option if you want variety and good food without a long sit-down meal.

From first glance, you could see that there's three floors of which the food court is on the first floor and you could sit on a second or third floor for better views. All the foods looked amazing, but I opted to go to rooted to try the fried chicken sandwich with fries. The ordering process was very quick and the food was made very fast as well. Upon first glance, the chicken looked hand breaded and fried, so it was definitely going to be good. I got the Nashville hot, but it wasn't hot at all. I did not taste any spice. That's OK though because it was very flavorful and delicious. It also had a slaw on top and the bun was very soft. I also love the fry on the french fries as it wasn't too heavy or too light. I would definitely come back and try other foods. It was quite busy for a lunch during a weekday, which is a great sign that it's high-quality. I also love a food hall, which is something I don't see very often so it definitely catches my attention when there is one available.

We ordered to eat there, but they still packaged our sandwiches to go. The staff didn't call out the order loud enough for us to realize they'd been prepared, so I think they sat at the counter for a while. My son was happy with his chicken pesto though he commented that it could've used a more generous application of the pesto. I kinda suffered from order regret. I chose the Turkey & Brie. The moment I unwrapped it, I was overwhelmed by the onion smell. Even after removing some of the onion, its presence lingered. My bad, I ordered it after all. The turkey and Brie comes with apple slices, and two kinds of mustard - a honey mustard and stone ground mustard. The honey mustard is what caught my eye. While I realize stone ground mustard is tangier, this sandwich was overcome by the strength of the onion and stone ground mustard. You don't even notice the apple and Brie. Just an overall miss for me. Last, if you happen to be dining in, you can use a bathroom (with a code) but it's a block away in a parking garage. I'm not down in Boulder super often, but I'm likely to skip a return visit. If I were to return, I'd try the chickpea and avocado sandwich instead and hope for better luck.

These guys definitely pride themselves on their quality ingredients and it definitely showed. It is one of the best tasting burgers I've had in a while and left me feeling like I had a good hearty meal. The part that stood out the most to me interestingly enough was the cheese on the burger. I've had my fair share of cheeseburgers, but I think this is the first one where I acknowledged the cheese having an awesome flavor and actually bringing everything together and adding a great flavor to it. I thought the fries were very good too. Bonus points for beef tallow. Overall a good meal and left full and happy. A fair value definitely for Boulder, but was starting to push it with a burger and fries being $20. And that didn't include a drink. So you're getting up there in price if you do anything further, especially for a burger and fries. Would recommend and would return.

We…read morestopped in here after a long day of hiking because it was named "One of Boulder's Best Burger Places". I strongly disagree! The restaurant itself is nice, clean, and customer service is friendly. However, the menu is al-a-cartè, and expensive, including sauce! Have you ever seen a fast food, or any restaurant for that matter, charge for sauce??? Oh well, we're here, so we tried it anyway. The burgers were loaded with salt, almost inedible, yet the fries had none. Although the fries make up for the lack of salt by being over-soaked in grease. I get it, it's fast food, I didn't expect a gourmet burger; although for the $45 we spent on 2 burgers, a fry, and a shake, it should be! I recommend McDonald's, Burger King, or Wendy's, if fast food burger is what you want. They taste better, and are a heck of a lot cheaper than Wld Pastures.

I consider myself a fair reviewer, and will do my best to provide constructive criticism in hopes the management will take some steps to educate their staff. My husband, daughter and I spent the night at the Boulderado on the evening of 4/23. In the morning -4/24 -while they finished packing I went down to the restaurant first to get a table as we only had about 50 minutes to go back to our room to get our belongings and check out. The restaurant was not very busy, and I thought to myself, "Great!" The hostess picked up 3 menus, then paused, sighed, and said she wanted to give the server a bit more time to catch up, and she asked me to sit on a bench, though there were multiple open tables where I would have gladly waited. My husband and daughter joined me shortly thereafter and the hostess finally seated us, saying there was only one server working. She handed us 2 breakfast menus when there were clearly 3 of us, and my husband had to get up and go to the host stand to get another one. Our server came by after some time and took our order. Oddly, we saw a different server with another table so she was not the only server working after all. She brought my husby's coffee, but no spoon. Well, at least there was a knife because several servers passed our table without even a glance. He was never asked if he wanted a refill, even when he asked for a spoon and his cup was nearly empty. She didn't even give him enough time to ask for more. The kicker was the manager, pony tail guy- standing outside the restaurant in front of the coffee bar with our server and two other young ladies, laughing it up while we were sitting there completely surrounded by no coffee. Not one person asked if they could bring us anything else throughout the entirety of our meal. We literally had to wave them down for the spoon, then nothing. Time was running out so I sent my grumpy husband and frustrated daughter back to the room to get our luggage and said I'd wait for the server to pay. I sat there another 5 minutes holding my credit card up, and even caught the eye of pony tail guy across the bar, but eventually had to just go to the bartender to ask for the bill. I likely could have just walked out without paying and no one would have even noticed! I will say the food was fine. Hubby had the Denver omelette, which he said was flavorful, and our daughter and I each had the Avocado toast which was very nice. Loved the seedy bread. However, the service-or lack thereof- left a bad taste in our mouths. We love the Boulderado and will be back, but unless there is some training of their young waitstaff we aren't likely to return to Spruce. Overall, the restaurant staff seemed completely disinterested in the customers and couldn't be bothered to even offer a friendly smile. For a hotel like the Boulderado with the reputation of a historic gem, we expect much more from their restaurant. We have dined there previously, most recently last year when we had a lovely server, a much more mature and professional lady who was lively and joked with us. It was a very busy morning and she made sure we felt taken care of even when things took longer. We left with a smile on our faces. A few final words of wisdom- 1) even if things are busy, stop by a new table to offer a pleasant word and let customers know someone will be with them shortly, even if it's not your table 2) when you bring coffee be sure you provide a spoon, and at least one check in about a refill 3) stop by to ask if your customers need anything else, and get them their check in a timely manner 4) if you are a manager, don't stand around gabbing with your staff in plain sight of your customers, while said customers are being ignored, and 5) a smile goes a long way. The only smile we got was from the bartender who at one point seemed to be the only person running the show.
