Great experience while traveling from la. Tried hot Pilates and starting to feel the burn in my abs 12 hours later The warm soft Floors are welcoming and easy on your body. The temp was not overwhelming but still kicked my ass. Brenda was a gem. Supportive, offered variation and was pretty funny. Clean studio and cute outdoor patio and locker room Hot yoga IN Miami still sounds hilarious but would go again!

"Have yoga mat, will travel" was the title of a New York Times article on the standardized instruction available at Bikram yoga studios across the country (and world), and the same idea applies to this lovely little studio in the heart of South Beach, Miami. The 2nd floor studio is large, mirrored on all sides, with a floor made of rubber bands (rubber is both a good insulator, generally hypo-allergenic, and "green" -- pretty sure the floor is a recycled product), with hot air heaters located in just about every corner of the room. There are shelves along one wall for people to put their bags, etc. There are three shower rooms in the studio which are unisex. Extra towels for showering are $1 each (a towel and washcloth are included in the price of the class), and shower gel is provided. The shower rooms are pretty busy after class, especially after the big 6:30pm evening classes. One of the most joyous things about this particular studio is the lovely deck out back. There is nothing better than sitting on a cool tiled deck with the Miami seabreeze blowing across your sweaty body. Nice plants fill the back deck--go out here to cool off and sip water before jumping in the shower. Mat rentals are $2, water is $2. There is a small locker area for valuables, but the studio is locked between classes when no one is at the front desk. There is a small boutique of yoga wears, including very short shorts (it's Miami, so get used to it -- a bikini or tiny outfit is pretty standard for this studio). On my last vacation to SoBe, I bought the $50 weekly unlimited (the cheapest package; there is no first-timer price at this studio like at many other Bikram schools) and it was well worth it. The instruction (I had three different instructors) was fantastic and the vibe in the studio was awesome. Most people here were pretty serious about their yoga -- a rather stark contrast to the often debaucherous vibes of South Beach -- but they are friendly, fun, and approachable. I made friends everytime I took class. There is a nice lounge area to hang out in indoors before class, and the aforementioned deck is great too. A short corridor from the studio to the deck houses a bar to hang wet rented mats on, a basket for dirty towels, and another room that leads to the small locker area and two shower rooms. The other side of the floor holds two bathrooms and the third shower room (which is, btw, the biggest one). Recycled plastic shopping bags are provided to put your wet yoga gear in afterwards. If you live in Miami, bring your plastic grocery bags to the studio for others to put their wet gear in. Next time I'm in Miami for over a week, I'll definitely be back!

Your typical Bikram practice. You know the drill: *room temp ~104 °F, humidity 40%. *26 Postures, 2 Breathing exercise *90 minute class I like Bikram because the practice is consistent no matter where you go. Bikram Yoga Miami is no different, once we got into the breathing exercises and the postures, I had a beautiful session. The studio is clean and super cute. The outdoor patio is a nice touch, ideal for hanging out after practice. The only downside were all the chatty patrons. Chatting outside the room before and after class is perfectly okay. But chatting in the practice space before class, while I'm trying to meditate is a big NO NO! An okay experience that had the initial potential of being great.

Ariana lives for pilates annd she cares and you can see it in her effort to really make sure you understand the union of breath and movement and alignment in her sequencing. i love her classes. Randi is an angel. he's kind he's excited he's creative and he's extremely extremely efficient with timing and cues. hes always kind and always encouraging positive and optimistic thinking while instructing innovative sequences kalena comes to mind instantly when i think innovative sequencing. she's sweet and friendly and warm and her class is always amazing. truly don't miss a kalena class Cristina. cristina is just pure wisdom and directness. she knows jetset in and out and she teaches it that way. but with no ego. at all. she's powerful and so is her sequencing but she delivers nicely and is EXTREMELY clear with her cues. she also has an eye for everything and ropes back you in if you drift offZ thank you cris! brenda. brenda is a gangster. she is alll of the best parts of mismo embodied. in spanish there's a word "savor" directly translated it means flavor. brenda is flavor x 100 but not annoying. she and her classes are warm, fun, energetic challenging and they have savor. her cues never miss, she's stickler for alignment in a way that i love and crave maureen is not here as often bc she teaches elsewhere but if you see her name anyway take her class she's such a great instructor. and lastly julie is new but you wouldn't know it by her classes and i haven't missed a class yet x she's so nice, great sequencing. if you know me, you know that i don't often give reviews and i'm not incentivized by anything other than wanting to share something great. i really love coming to class and this in combination with yoga are truly the recipe for longevity.

I've done Pilates before, but I wanted to try it with the reformer. I found Hauser Bayside Pilates on class pass and reserved a class for later in the week. There is no designated parking for the studio, so you can street park for $4/hr (a crime if you ask me), or park in the garage about a block away. I parked in the garage and made my way to class. I was the first to arrive and had no idea what to expect. The teacher (I'm assuming Natalie? I never got her name) was on a reformer and just yelled across the room for me to sign a waiver. I thought that was a bit unprofessional. The studio is fairly small. It had 6 reformers for the class, and a several other equipment for use. I thought the class would be larger, but I was happy to know it was not. We started the class and it was a trip. It was crazy to see how many different moves and positions you can do with one machine. I found the teacher a little impolite. One moment she would be interested in my progress, and other times she seemed so apathetic to the whole thing. Who knows? When I left she didn't ask me what I thought of the class or anything really. She just said hopefully I'd be back. There was another girl in the class that seemed more interested in my experience than the teacher. The teacher is the reason why I gave this place 4 stars instead of 5. I really liked the class (pilates with a reformer in general), and the location. Only real draw back is the teacher. She was something I could do without.

Natalie's reformer class is far from basic and she has a trained eye that directs you into new positions smoothly for a complete body workout. While the class is not quite aerobic (maybe a bit), her focus on form makes the exercises more effective than a basic class, yet less strenuous than some classes where you feel like you're going to die 10 minutes into the workout. I highly recommend Hauser Bayside Pilates for newcomers or experienced enthusiasts. When you feel new muscles worked out, you know the Pilates instructor is teaching the right thing, stressing proper form--- and that's what I've experienced at Natalie's studio. I'll certainly keep going back for more.

I arrived about five minutes late to class and realized there was an issue with my ClassPass booking. I completely understood the situation and even offered to pay on the spot or after class since there was still space available. What was unacceptable was how it was handled. It felt degrading and completely unnecessary. This wasn't about policy-I respect policies. It was about the way a paying, returning client was treated. I also followed up via email and never received a response, which only adds to the disappointment. There is a way to enforce rules while still treating people with respect.
