I picked this location based on proximity to my hotel. I asked for a new set and then "upsold" to Gel-X nails which are glorified press on nails. They used Beetles gel products which you can buy on Amazon for $27 for the whole kit. Once completed, I asked the tech to clean up all of the leftover polish on my skin. She tried to a little bit but then told me that it will just come off when washing my hands later. I'm here to report it did not come off and looks like crap. Save the money and buy the Amazon kit. read more

I came in for a fill-in and nail repair and the man that started on my nails glued a tip pointing up calling it "flat" but it absolutely was not flat. The rest of my nails curve downward as your nails do. Prior to putting on acrylic I asked him to redo it because I did not like how the nail pointed upwards and he said he can't. I asked him why and he got frustrated and started speaking in his language about me. I got on google translate to see what he said and at some point he called me stupid... for asking why he couldn't redo the nail. The man proceeded to throw a tantrum and got up mid way with my tip still glued on saying he can't do it. I asked why can't he communicate and he said "oh now I dont know what I'm doing" very unnecessarily combative and not worth your time. He was better off saying he did not know how to accomplish what I asked for which was simple, for the nail repair to match my other nails. In all my life I've never been upset going to pamper myself. I hate giving bad reviews but I wouldn't want anyone else to waste there money. My pedicure was half done . After telling the guy how I felt about my feet he told me I should come more often then handed me the equipment to finish my own feet. On my manicure didn't even clean my cuticles. This service was terrible. Also if offered water be sure to check seal because the water I was given came from the facet . Not worth the price at all. Got a pedicure and gel manicure, and I was waiting for awhile to get my manicure done. The white nail polish for my toes came out very light and looked unfinished with different shades of white streaks. The gel on my manicure started peeling after 4 days. I did come back in to get some of my fingers redone after the 4th day due to the peeling and they fixed them for free but I would not recommend going here. read more

This is THE only place I will go to get my nails done! I've gone to tons of other places and they always cut my cuticles and I leave bleeding and in pain but Luxor Nail & Spa is the ONLY place that that hasn't been the case. A precious married couple owns and runs it and they are SO accommodating. They clearly are professionals and know what they're doing because the last time I was in there they informed me that I have soft cuticles (everyone's are different) and so you can't cut them too short. Clearly this is a sign that they know nails and are accommodating to different people with different types of nails unlike these other salons around town that run like robots and just move as many people through as they can. I've never been cut and I always leave happy. Once I called and they fit me in even though they had to be somewhere that evening. They turned some walk-ins away (it was close to closing time) because they'd fit me in. I do recommend calling for an appointment on the weekends because they can get busy. It's clear they have regulars who come in and they know. I don't go too regularly but hey recognized me when I went back several months after I'd first been in. I love this place, the prices are reasonable and as a person who is picky and scared from previous bad experiences I'll forever be loyal to these guys! read more

Vi Vi did my nails and she was very efficient and kind -- frequently asking if I liked the color, shape, etc. Louis was also there talking and making the time go by so fast! I've been here a bunch of times and I really like the people who work here. Generally, it's not too busy and they do a good job. The salon has a stamp card and you get $5 after 5 (?, maybe 6) visits. It's really clean and has multiple TVs. The not great: there are only two employees so if there's a crowd- don't hold your breath. Also, I'm a big fan of the gel manicure and the last two times I've been, it was painted onto my cuticle, which means peeling (and I can't help but peel). I have used Luxor nails for years. They are always helpful and give quick service. Sometimes I go on my lunch break and they get me in and out. They are all about perfection and they do a great job with my nails and toes. Also they offer waxing services which I have been getting my eyebrows done there for years also. They are the only ones I trust. The owners are great! They are very involved in your time spent there. Go check out their newly updated nail spa. They have a nail bar now that's just awesome. I'm beyond disgusted with this establishment. Not only did the male technician have a HORRIBLE attitude (a attitude that is only slightly better than his abilities) but a few hours later, after taking a shower the polish on my left began to bubble. After returning to the shop to have my nails fixed & being informed there would be a 30 minute wait I asked for a refund. Upon hearing the word 'refund' the female technician (who I assume is 1 of the owners) took it upon herself to not only insult the tip I left the previous day BUT the quality of the gel polish I brought with me. I have worked in the service industry for over a decade & I'm not sure where they learned their customer service skills, or better yet lack there of, but it's safe to say that I will NEVER return to Luxor Nails & will make sure that everyone I know does the same.
