My very first beaded earrings created with beads from Glorious Beads!
    Priscilla D.

I was in the area and came across Glorious Beads, tucked away on the main street of CV Boulevard. As an amateur beader, I've been (of course!) on the hunt for some beading arsenal. Walking into Glorious Beads, I'm overwhelmed...in a good way! I knew what I wanted in terms of the color scheme, but didn't know which sizes to use. I didn't know where to begin, but Gloria (the owner) and a few other ladies there beading guided me to the very first beads I'd use to create my first-ever beaded earrings! Glorious Beads is an absolute gem and Gloria was so welcoming and warm - I highly recommend this store to anyone, especially those that are amateurs like myself. So much variety and styles of beads, along with support from staff to help you with the selection process for your beaded masterpiece!

Great local small business! I got to meet the owner and her wonderful 3 pups! I am new to jewelry design so having her help me pick the right beads and tools is very important!

Gloria fixed my jade bracelet for $6!

A few years back I was at the Jade Hawker Bazaar in Hong Kong and purchased a jade bracelet. I must have paid $10. It was held together with a silicone string. I'd only had it on a few times and it broke. Luckily I was home and gathered up the beads. I rediscovered the beads last week and put them in a zip lock bag with the intent on having them restrung. Found Gloria's Beads on Yelp and stopped in today. Yup, as the other reviews mentioned, a big black dog came out barking. Not to worry, Ranger is just welcoming you. Another little dog, Reef, joined in the greeting. Gloria came out from the back. It's all good with me! I showed her my beads and explained my story. Good news is that the beads are in fact jade and worth stringing and repairing. She said I could do it myself if I had a crimping tool or we could do it together. Gloria got all parts. We decided not to use string and instead wire was a better option. It took us about 5 minutes. I strung the beads with Gloria using the tool and attaching the clasp. $6 and my jade bracelet is fixed! I actually have two beads left over. Gloria said we'll make earrings next time, so I guess I'll return. She is just darling!

This morning I went to Glorious Beads at 10:06a. Their website says that they are open at 10a on Saturdays. I called, I waited, I left.

Found parking conveniently right in front in the street since it was a quiet day out. I was looking for wool roving which she didn't have, however, she was so kind to explain the difference between the types of material and she showed me the correct type of yarn she did have that I'd be able to pull apart with my carding brushes! She had a lot of equipment to use for yarn crafts and it was great to see the variety of product inside. Apparently she holds craft nights and such too which I'm planning on looking into. Prices here were sooo much better than all the places I've found online which is also have to pay extra for shipping. She also even rolled the yarn into a ball for me before we left. Hopefully they'll have wool roving here soon, but I'm thankful for the yarn we were able to purchase for my current projects :) The best part -- her dog Jasper kept us company throughout our whole experience there and he is the absolute cutest cuddle bug! Can't wait to come back.

The owner was very friendly and welcoming, chatting with me a little bit about little dog as I was the only person in the shop then. I do love that there are quite a lot of hair claw clips, was able to find one that looked like my dog (white maltipoo). For their grand opening, there was a 10% off discount and my clip was packaged in the cutest little bag. I'm definitely keeping it to reuse as a cute gift bag for sure! Final Thoughts: Adorable little shop that's perfect for cute gifts with fairly reasonable prices for the items. I'm sure people will say they can find items for cheaper else where, but as a small business in Castro Valley, it is nice to be able to shop and check out items in person.

Didn't want to catch COVID nor the flu. Had to come here recently to buy some Flu meds. Decided to come late in the afternoon on a Sunday as sports drains businesses of patrons during that time span.
