Their customer service is non-existent tried numerous times to call. I have emailed with no response. it's as though this company does not exist I ordered a fishing rod five weeks ago was promised to be delivered within 3 to 5 weeks! still no Rod! oh, but they have my money!!! read more

Purchased an Edge rod from the Sportman Show on Saturday and upon getting it home noticed it had some abnormalities in the top section. Crimps in the top section almost as if someone had taken a pair of pliers to it. Spoke with Alex Maslov with G Loomis and he stated after looking at the pictures I sent, that this was perfectly normal. Multiple interactions in he kept stating it was perfectly normal but then he stated he could not view any of the pictures I had sent and to reach out to customer support. How could he know if it was perfectly normal if he was never able to view the photos in the first place? Long time G-Loomis customer but after this experience I believe I will need to rethink that. Maybe G Loomis could learn a thing or two from Okuma. I purchased two Pro Guide Select Salmon Rods this past year. Not that I need more fishing rods as I think I own 80 at this point but I believe many of you can relate. These rode are under $200 each and are amazing. I broke the top section of one going down an embankment trying to get to that perfect fishing spot. Called up Okuma's customers service and explained the situation. They were very helpful and first wanted to make sure I didn't hurt myself. They proceeded to ask the model number and told me my replacement piece was in the mail no charge. I was surprised as I was prepared to pay as this was my fault but they were happy to help and stated remember us on your next rod purchase. Good customer service is harder and harder to come by these days and we need to appreciate and recognize it when it happens! Update-Below was the response I got from Alex at G Loomis. All this because I wanted the defective top section of the rod I purchased a few days ago replaced. Looking at other reviews it appears this is common practice and they have even refused to honor warranties and service because of people posting a bad review. I don't know if they would even refund my money if I mailed the rod back given what I'm reading on some of these other reviews. It breaks my heart as I put this company on a pedestal and to see how they treat customer is sad. Gary Loomis is a legend and I've always been a big believer in the G Loomis brand. Heck you would think I was on their payroll going from river to river touting them but this type of customer service and treatment is just unacceptable and some of the other reviews and stories are even more horrifying. I received my 'GLoomis Xpeditor Service' package yesterday. My replacement rods look great! I've already relabeled and packed-up my disabled rods. I know I have 30 days to return my disabled rods but I don't like to procrastanate. I'm going to try and get to a FedEx drop location today. Great service (and replacement price!) GLoomis! I look forward to their first casts and first catches! BTW: I called GLoomis on the 23rd and I received the package on the 25th. The rods were shipped to CenTex from their warehouse in SoCal. i once owned a g loomis. i got it when i was 16 as a confimation gift. 3-4 years later my family was in a car accident and someone stole it from the car wreck. it was in perfect condition along with the rest of the baggage. most likely it was a police officer who knew about fishing. im nearing 30 now and i just cant find the will to fly fish anymore... its just not the same. i purchased a higher end guideline on sale but its just not the same. my accuracy is down considerably no matter what i do, and same with how tiresome other rods are. i tried lubing every inch. i have tried to contact the company but they just dont care. i hope someone prays i find the joy in fly fishing again and avoids this companies so called warrenty fraud. jon from norway read more

So it's now been a full month past when I bought the rod, which broke on its 3rd cast. I paid an extra $135 for the "Xpeditor" service, which says you will receive a replacement in 2-3 days. Here we are, over a month later, and still no replacement. G Loomis has promised, on 3 different occasions, it would be replaced the following week. Nope, never happened. Customer service has 1+ hour hold times, and has yet to get me a replacement shipped. I even offered to change to a different model, if they had anything in stock, which they claim they do not. Refiling my BBB case. This is abysmal service. read more

Adam was the person who answered my phone. He was wonderful and very helpful with my xpedite. I've used G- Loomis off and on for the last 20 years and they have always been a wonderful company to work with. Adam did a great job at getting me on and off the phone quickly with a solution. I will continue to use their products especially since the customer service was so amazing. read more

Sure the product is top shelf but when it comes to "customer service" I've had better with comcast and (as anyone who's had the displeasure of dealing with them knows) that's saying something. I sent a rod back to get the tip section repaired/replaced on a Fri. and because they're closed on weekends it wasn't received until the following Mon. I got a call from a very nice woman on Tues. to get my credit card number because my issue wasn't covered under their "lifetime warranty". She told me the new tip should be complete and my rod shipped back by the end of the week or, worst case, early the following week. When the rod hadn't arrived, the following Mon., I called the Woodland, WA location to get an update on Tues. (1 week after giving my cc info) the guy told me it was probably done and he didn't know any specific details about my rod but would find out and get back to me, (when I asked if there would be a tracking number when the rod was shipped he told ME to call HIM back to get the tracking number... wth?) So when I didn't hear from him I called again two days later and got the COMPLETE RUNAROUND, now apparently the excuse is/was "they are doing their year-end inventory" and "are behind on repairs" but I can call back later to get an update. I called again the next day this time to the corporate HQ in Irvine, CA (and, again, got the runaround) this guy told me my the repair to my rod had not been started but was scheduled to be later this week. Not happy with this development I then asked to be connected to the customer service manager he said ok and promptly hung-up on me! I called back again, without giving my name, asking to be connected to the customer service manager and was. The manager looked into it and found that "the rod had been repaired and was ready for shipping" she said she would follow up and call me back with a tracking number and even ship it overnight to somehow compensate for the obvious frustration I was expressing. Well, that call was completed at 10am and it's now almost 2pm and STILL NO CALL BACK OR E-MAIL!! So, at 2pm, after sitting on hold for another 10 min. I finally spoke with another service rep, Gabe, who informed me that they had "just finished repairing the rod and he had just received the notice with the tracking number 5 min. ago and they were going to credit my cc the repair cost and send me a goodie bag... hat, stickers, etc..., so, another lier and this time a "customer service" manager!!! I will NEVER buy another G. Loomis product and will go out of my way to tell any/everyone who'll listen about this experience! If I could leave a negative star rating I would! p.s.
