Beautiful, relaxing, peaceful spot…read more My husband and I visited this dock 2 days ago after going to my Grandmother's 90th Birthday Party in the area. There is a bronzed statue of Sacajawea near the bridge by this dock. The autumn foliage here is just breathtaking - bright yellows, brilliant oranges, and cranberry reds - and there are lilypads *everywhere* which really add to the beauty of the place. The dock itself is a mostly-rectangular-shaped, with slanted corners, and it is about 20 - 30 feet wide and about 15 - 20 feet long. From the dock, you can see glorious amounts of lilypads, a good section of the lake, a proud tall fountain that emerges from the center of the lake, the bridge to your right (about a 2-minite walk from the dock), and lots and lots of trees. Off in the distance behind the dock, there's a playground, which was full of happy kids playing in it on the Saturday that we visited. There were quite a few people out at the lake itself this past Saturday, however, it never felt crowded, and we were the only two people on the dock itself. There are no benches on the actual dock, but there's a nice park bench very close to it. I have some memories of Lake Sacajawea from when I was much younger, since I have family in this area, but I hadn't been there in many years until this past weekend. I highly recommend visiting if you're in the area. It's a lovely place to chill for a while or take a short stroll.

This is an awesome place! Just a beautiful, bright spot in the middle of town. Enjoy picnics,…read morewalks, fish off the dock or bring your kids or grandkids to the park.

My buddy told me catching bass would be nice as usual but he wanted wanted to go bigger this time as in salmon which is something I know nothing about. I looked at a few different sites for a guide service, and the one I easily selected was Legal Limit Outdoors. I was instantly impressed when the owner David Taber told me he would get us on some fish and that he would also like to give us a military discount. The photos on his web site also looked pretty promising for catching nice sized fish and having fun while doing it! After booking with David he called and provided multiple follow ups before our trip. This was only the start of his sincere kindness, courtesy, and true appreciation for his clients. This kindness continued throughout our trip today. David I learned is not only a veteran himself but a kind hearted guide who loves what he does and he wants you to enjoy your experience even more! He not only got us on the fish but we were the only boat out of about 5 in our area to catch anything. When I say anything I mean multiple Salmon ranging from 15-40 lbs. While no one else near us caught anything we got hook up after hook up. When we were all done for the day David even cleaned all of our fish afterwards. David has fished the Columbia River for decades and if you are looking for a guide with experience and the ability to teach people of all levels from beginner to expert, he is your guy! David if you see this I want to say not only thank you for getting us on the fish, but thanks for the photos and memories that will last a lifetime!

We had a great time. He has a perfect boat for the river, and knew exactly where the Sturgeon were that would be good for us to catch (not too big and not too small). We pulled in about 10 of them during the hours we were out. My daughter had a blast and we learned a good amount of the river and the fish. Would recommend no problem.

However, we had the opportunity to catch and keep sturgeon only if it was between 44-50 inches; which occurs twice in a year. From beginning to start, Matt was super helpful with providing gear for me as it was my first time fishing. His boat was top of the line compared to the rest on the river that day. It had a hot water sink and very comfy chairs to sit in. He also had beers, waters on dec and had anti-nausea meds on board which was great for me since I was feeling sick. After 5 minutes, my boyfriend caught his first sturgeon that was 47 inches. And I caught one four hours later that was 45 inches. He allowed us to reel it in (which was a struggle for me, but worth it) and he took great photos after. We were the only 2 people that day to catch and keep our sturgeon. We couldn't have had a better experience and we got so lucky that day thanks to Matt! He ended up filet-ing our sturgeons and took 15 pounds of it home. It was the highlight of our trip to Portland. And we plan to come back in the spring once salmon season starts. If you're thinking about booking a trip with him, DO IT. You won't regret it!

Amazing day on the river! Let me start off by saying that this was my families first guided fishing…read moretrip and wasn't sure at all what to expect. The plan was to do Salmon fishing but we were told earlier in the day the reports weren't good and there wasn't much activity in the area we were going. We all discussed our expectations which was that there was no guarantee we would catch anything. Sad but true fishing is not guaranteed or it would be called "catching" instead according to a family member. We were told the following to be prepared: layer clothing as it was cold that day but could warm up, pack snacks/lunch as it's not provided, sunscreen may be needed, and a hat for some of us. Also, goes without saying to have license and fishing licenses. Some of these items should be obvious but others not so much. A friend suggested we bring tip money as well. We had no expectations having never been on a trip such as this. We headed out of the marina with excitement in hopes as all of us probably hope of landing a big fish. Initially the spot we hit up north trolling for Salmon was a bust. But, our guide Christian made a call to get a report on a spot that had hits on Sturgeon instead. He let us know he couldn't guarantee anything but sounds like it might be a good place if we were up for it. Of course, we said let's do it. At this point even without a bite, for someone who works too much it was already a great day on the water, and no motion sickness which was huge. We headed towards Goat Island and he dropped anchor, got the first pole in the water, and as he was getting the second one in there was a hit right away on the line. Having little experience with Sturgeon fishing Christian was a great teacher explaining how, when, and in what order to do things. The first Sturgeon my husband caught was 2-3' but huge smile on his face none the less. Not long after getting all the poles on another bite came on the line, and my daughter got a decent sized sturgeon on the line, and learned how tiring they can be to land. Christian got it on the boat for a photo and we released it back into the water. We all ended up catching several Sturgeons and I ended up catching a large one that was between 6-7' and estimated to weigh 150 lbs. This one we were all nervous to get on the boat but Christian managed it somehow. He advised in a laughing tone any other larger one's would not be on the boat. We ended the evening with all of us having caught multiple sturgeons, smiles on our face, excitement, and looking forward to the next excursion. Even me whose body doesn't do well on the water. I will absolutely suggest him to friends, family, colleagues, and strangers. All around amazing experience and still smiling days later. Coming in from the day I snapped a photo of our guide looking completely as home on the boat and my experience was he was just that. He gave us an amazing afternoon/evening.
