This buffet has been heavily reviewed on Google. It was one of the deciding factors for our group tonight to choose this place for dinner. We were craving a buffet of sorts and this was the closest Chinese buffet in all of Long Island from Deer Park. I actually wanted to rate it at 2 stars for just being okay and having some things here and there. It really is just like any other Chinese buffet you could find in all of NYC/NYS. But I feel like this one was a little more special. They had a large assortment of cuisines. They had a little something for everyone. I think ever since opening in 2017, this place has at least tried to cater to everyone. COVID hit the restaurant industry hard of course but even now, some of their staff still wore masks and cleaned tables and cleaned the floors constantly. The food wasn't mediocre but none of us were expecting anything lavish either. Most of the food was decently hot if not warm. I liked the majority of their seafood here, the crawfish are very large and flavorful, very good stock they're cooked in. The ginger lobster was disappointing, lacking flavor even though it was coated in battery and sauce. The crabs were also a let-down. But the rest of the seafood was better than okay but not too wild. Generally, Asians go for the shell food when at a Chinese buffet or any buffet really. Their coconut shrimp was apparently really good. Their vegetables were also surprisingly very crisp and fresh which I loved. Their ice cream machine ran out of vanilla and everyone that was waiting for the machine wanted vanilla over chocolate so that was unfortunate. It was close to closing time so I assumed they just didn't want to refill the vanilla being so close to closing up. This is not McDonald's though. A lot of our plates weren't being taken after being eaten and having gone up for another round of food. They were just left sitting there on the table. For a buffet service to go smoothly, this is one of the only and one of the most important services that servers should be doing. Instead, the customers were left to Tetris around their own dirty plates to be comfortable in eating. The servers treated the small room that we had been seated in as their communal employee area and just lounged there while waiting as we were settling the bill. It felt a little hawkish and uncomfortable. Now finally, the price. I haven't been here pre-COVID but I think that $22.99 an adult is a little steep for the quality of buffet food we were having along with the just-okay quality of service. It's probably more worth it to come in the weekdays during lunch hours. read more

Food- it's your average Chinese buffet. Nothing spectacular. The food tasted just ok. Nothing to write hime about. I would call it subpar. Ambiance - the building looks like a commercial real estate office or bank, it's nice and fairly new until you get toward the sushi bar area where you automatically smell sewage plus garbage. Absolutely horrible. 1st of all they herd you in like cattle and it's extremely tight in there. No room to move around at buffet tables or table you eat at. 3/4 of sushi trays was empty! No taste to food. Figured I'd try the hibachi. Wrong! Steak was hard and even the pineapples pieces I threw in there. The place was packed, don't ask me why . Maybe because it was 19.99. They had big pieces of whole crab cut in half. Never got any. The women in front of me grabbed the last 5 pieces while I was standing there. Yeah, I gave her my opinion of that. Complete trash. Visit date: February 9, 2019 I'm always skeptical of buffets. They're either decent, absolutely amazing or sub par food I am afraid to eat or wouldn't be caught dead eating. I was nervous about this buffet but it seemed our best bet to take my friend to lunch for her birthday. She loves sushi, so even though I am not a sushi fan and don't eat rice anymore when I take my one friend out I try to make sure she gets some sushi and I'll have something else off the menu. Most of the food wasn't really healthy so I stayed away from a lot of it, but I was happy to see they had a hibachi grill as most buffets do. That's usually the first place I start in a buffet. I grab a bunch of veggies, some eggs and some meat and have them grill it up for me. I recently went gluten free (I don't think I have an allergy but I do have a sensitivity) and I am doing it to help my IBS. Even though I think I might sometimes accidentally have some gluten that might be included in a sauce I try my best to be conscious of it. It was hard at the hibachi grill because I kept trying to ask the man working it about a gluten free sauce and he didn't understand and just kept asking me what kind of sauce I wanted. Finally I gave up and just asked for some hot oil and garlic because I figured they were safe to be gluten free. I made a second round and got some edamne, seaweed salad, a little bit of salmon and some more greens. My toddler ate two chinese donuts. When I was fat chinese donuts were one of my favorite things to eat, but they do have gluten so now even when I have a cheat day I won't be eating them unless I make my own or they have some at a gluten free bakery. My kid who subsists on nothing but junk food was happy with his two chinese donuts. My friends seemed to enjoy what they ate. Not usually seen in seafood buffet - Free spacious parking lot shared with 99 cents store and planet fitness and others. - highchair and booster chair available Con: - No WiFi - As mentioned, frozen salmon sashimi - waited for lobster ( cut up and cooked in scallion and garlic sauce) for 15-20 min. It's one of those you have to be first three on line if you want to eat. Mixed taste of the lobster. Some pieces are ok. Some are crumbling and dry which indicate it's not fresh. - My husband says the duck wasn't good. Conclusion: $17 diner buffet a person with lobster and sashimi, I will return but probably not often. First, I went on Presidents day.at lunch time I kept checking the website. Never did it say they were charging Sunday dinner prices all day. Bummer!! Then the menu says they have mashed potatos and meatloaf. Great, I prefer that to seafood (my wife loves seafood) But again, bummer, NOT there!! A typical international buffet. We used to call something like this a Chinese buffet, but this one is actually very limited Chinese food with a lot more traditional dishes you would expect to see more in a Shoney's, etc.. I do like that they very often have breakfast items at least early through the day. Also, they do a very nice job with the Mongolian grill. They take instruction pretty well on silly things like don't overcook the meat, but really cook the vegetables a lot. Stuff like that. The service is pretty friendly. The food is plentiful all in all a pretty good experience I would recommend trying it, although we do have several very good buffets that are nearby. read more

My wife and I decided to try this place out one day for lunch and the food was good, but the only problem was it was all cold. Almost nothing was warm except for some fried chicken and soup. I think my parents and their retiree friends are legit buffet hunters. Every month or so they find a new buffet to try, and I'm sometimes blessed to get an invite. This is the latest of their discovery, and here is what I think. The selections here are not as extensive as the other popular Long Island buffet DJs. The price point for lunch though is a steal at 9 dollars. Eat a few pieces of sushi and some clams and shrimp and you already beat the buffet. We all know that you come to these things to win. Kids under 2 are free, so I'm already winning by giving my daughter some mashed potatoes. The food is a hit or miss (even within the same visit). Sushi was below buffet grade. The fish on the sushi was too close to room temperature for me and the rice was pretty dry and the seaweed soggy. There were some good pieces in the mix, so it's very inconsistent. The clams were good in the first batch, no issues there whatsoever. But 30 minutes later I grab another 4 clams and they were frozen. It felt like I was eating an Ice cube which indicates these aren't fresh. Rest of the Chinese food and breakfast items - pancakes, eggs, sausage, mashed potatoes, - were all just fine. Overall, they have a lot of things that I can feed my daughter and I like that but the owners need to put some care into what they serve here, because inconsistency kills business. This will definitely not be my first choice in buffet but for the price, I'm willing to come back to give them a second chance.. maybe after 6+ months though. read more

My new adventure is travelling to Long Island when I get the opportunity. Shopping out in the Island is a whole new experience without the massive lines and mob scenes in New York City. Even the customer service is a bit civilized. Okay onto my review of Master Grill & Global Buffet. Lots of seniors here for only $7.99 per person for a buffet lunch. What a steal or a bargain. But how is the food for that price. I did not expect much when I saw the prices. For non-seniors it's $9.99 or $10.99. You really get what you pay for. I not a buffet kind of person, but it is the experience that counts and exposing one to new cuisines. Well, my Yelping posse want to tried this place based on a recommendation. I do not eat much buffet style foods and my only vice is sweets and desserts. The buffet food is cooked. Some of the stuff is over cooked but edible. Lots of selections to try. There is an area for breakfast. How can you go wrong with scrambled eggs- they were okay. The french toast was salty. Sausage was cooked. I stayed with the concept of play it safe type of foods after I tried one of the spicy sushi which was not my cup of tea. I would have given you a 3 stars, but why a 2 star? When there are fruit flies or flies by the cookies and desserts I get very nervous? Did you wipe the area clean or was something left behind. There was a whole tray of Napoleon. Picture perfect display of lined up desserts, cookies, etc...But your cookies are stale and so was the Napoleon. I tried to put fork down but it was hard as a rock. Cookies were hard. Vanilla ice cream did not taste like ice cream- maybe like frozen ice with vanilla flavor but it tasted weird. The chocolate or other flavor was out of order. The food is edible and tad salty with some of the cuisines. Nothing to rave about. I stay away from the desserts or double check to make sure they are fresh and not left over from the day before. Global Buffet is located in Levittown just across the street from another big buffet restaurant. I liked the vibe of Global Buffet because it's in its own building. Upon stepping inside, the entire restaurant seemed clean and well-maintained. I liked the way the restaurant was lighted which was dark and had areas of strong lighting, especially at the buffet area. We went on a Saturday brunch which cost $11 for an adult. I soon found out that this was an excellent price when contrasted to what they were offering at the buffet tables. At all buffets, my first trip is always to the seafood and sushi areas. On this measure Global Buffet exceeds many places on Long Island. The sushi, although thinly sliced, was thicker than other buffets I've been to. The amount of rice used was not outrageous. They offered cubes of different types of fish as their sashimi selection. Most other buffets don't offer sashimi in any form. I found their sushi rolls to be decent for a buffet. Global Buffet's sushi offerings are well thought out and plentiful and not an afterthought as with other places. Next, they offered shrimp cocktail, raw clams and oysters. The shrimp was of a larger variety, firm and so fresh. I've had many shrimp in my day and these were some of the best outside of Vegas. The clams were plump and briny. The cocktail sauce was real cocktail sauce with a horseradish kick. As for the oysters, they were on the small side yet fresh. This is acceptable to me because of the low price of the brunch. Next was lobster and crawfish. I was impressed with the size of the crawfish. Although not my favorite, it was decent in size and flavored well. I wasn't as impressed with the lobster, although I appreciated the fact that they offered it on the Saturday brunch at such a low price. The lobster, in the end, was not good. Yes, it was deep fried and had good flavor, however, I could tell these lobsters were all sub-one pounders. When deep fried, the meat shrunk to nothingness and all I ended up getting was a pea-sized bit of meat in each of my lobster shells. Global Buffet also offer a gamut of fried foods, salads, desserts and an above average soft serve ice cream. I can truly say that aside from the lobster, I was very satisfied with all the other selections. Finally, as for service, it was friendly and fast. Our tables were cleared of used plates quickly. We truly liked out experience at Global, now that we've been to a number of buffets on Long Island. As of now, Global Buffet is our favorite. read more

The place looks very neat, you come in and the hosts has a server place you in their section. The variety for me is not as much or what I would like it to be. Recently I got really sick, going in here, I got some food poisoning. I remember because that weekend I only came out to eat here and straight back home (no stops). There could be a chance it wasn't here. But I really think it was. The fried fish wasn't cooked properly and I didn't realize until I looked better (since there isn't really good lighting). This is across the now closed "Chen's buffet" which I liked a bit better than this one. The place is vast. + you have parking both in the front and in the back on this location and you have other shops and choices right on the same lot. There's a sneaker store beside it, there's Tri-county there too, planet fitness, a wine store, staples, and much more. read more

I would like to say. I don't just leave comments and reviews lightly ... either you need to wow me or disgust me..in this case it's outright disgust . This establishment was at one time very good. My family considered ourselves lucky it was here in our home town. Within the last year the obvious decline not only in cleanliness but in Overall customer service is pitiful. My story begins about 10 months ago. My adult daughter and I were thinking of a place to have dinner and she suggested global buffet. Knowing it was previously a nice experience I agreed... what unfolded was shocking. As we were sitting and eating we were forced to watch the cook behind the sushi station walking back and forth with an electric bug zapper noise was snap snap snap as he was killing things off the wall behind him.. he walked over to the hibachi area and continued the same..everyone in the restaurants heads were turning to watch what he was doing. I had to get up walk over and ask sir do you realize that's very unsanitary what exactly are you killing only to receive a smirk in return. no verbal reply.. we were finished. Couldn't think about finishing dinner. At that point asked for Bill and proceeded to cash register. The man at the register I've seen before he has been there for a while. I explained what happened and told him that I thought that behavior with an establishment full of customers was unprofessional and distasteful he in turn smiled and repeated the final cost of bill. I paid and vowed never to return. This past week I was in the hospital my wife and daughter decided to give this place another shot..I have no idea why. But they did. Upon arriving they asked for a table for 4 because they believed my son and his girlfriend were meeting them there. The woman at the front counter said where are the other two people. My wife explained they we held up and would be arriving late. The woman said then you sit up front and wait. My wife and daughter explained that they would rather not and that they would prefer to be seated the woman told them no you wait. They sat for a bit and seeing my son was running later than expected. Told the woman they believed the other two people in the party were most likely not coming and to please change the seating to two people. At that point they were seated but not without major negative attitude from same woman. When my daughter approached the sushi bat stock was extremely limited there were latterly scraps ave the sushi chef was occupied doing anything other than preparing food. My daughter walked back to table and my wife saw the obvious disappointment in my daughter's face. She asked her what's wrong and my daughter explained that the one thing she was looking forward to was not available. My wife got up walked over to the sushi chef and inquired if he had any intent of replenishing anything that was not there. With that the woman from front counter came rushing over to my wife and rudely asked what's the problem? My wife explained there's no Kani salad there's no sushi other than a few pieces that look like they have been sitting here for quite some time she was wondering if there was any plan to make anything fresh replenish the Kani salad.and the woman rudely replied what's wrong with what you see here. My wife then went on to explain none of this is fresh none of it is appetizing and if that wasn't obvious to her then they were obviously in the wrong place. The woman returned a snark attitude and the visit was over. I vow nobody in my circle of friends or family will ever spent 10 cents in global bugfet this day forward instead I've obstructed them that if they're thinking Chinese buffet take the ride to Baldwin flaming buffet does it do much better their clean they are friendly they are customer conscious. Pity I need to drive 20 minutes or more for an establishment that appreciates their patrons. read more

This new buffet decor is nicely packaged. But the food was just average. Most of the food I tried are all over cooked. Sushi bar item tasted like it has been sitting around for a while. Food selection has more items for non-Asian flavors like fried chicken, fries, pizza, mac & cheese. Service was slow due to lack of servers; I was here for lunch on a Friday. Restroom seems nice but not keep cleaned and the smell goes all way into the dining room because they keep the doors of both bathroom open. I did not try the grill food because of all the fruit flies buzzing in the area. The guy who seated us was so stone-faced and need to learn some customer service skills; he wanted to sit us near the restroom. : Best part of my visit is the price. Place is clean and service is ok. No complaint. Food was just ok. Lots of variety but quality of ingredient could use some improvement when I paid $24 plus tax and tip per person for a Sunday lunch. Not the best buffet I've been to. Particularly meat was way too chewy. Short ribs tasted like beef jerky. Same as prime ribs and beef bone in ribs. Seafood and chicken is ok. Ice cream is not good. We have to take kids somewhere else for some decent ice cream. I'm not really religious about ice cream but thinking about the soft served ones, which you just pump in those standard bags of the cream and let the machine work, it's hard to believe why it tastes nothing. I happened by this spot looking for a former Chinese buffet that used to be across the street. I thought this would be consistent with the former Old Country Buffet. It's not. I wasn't pleased. Almost all of the protein is loaded with sugar. I had a hard time finding things that I enjoy despite the variety. If you're into a sugary and oily Asian presentation, then this is your spot. Also, tons of dessert to hit your waistline. In fairness, their sushi looked decent and they do have a hibachi grill. But, plenty of kids standing face level to the food as the scoop up. Eh. This buffet is ok but that's the best I can give it. The atmosphere is nice and it looks relatively clean. There are lots of choices and some of them even looked quite good but that was where it ended. The food was lukewarm and nothing was particularly flavorful. My daughter had the habachi and it looked good. She said it was the best thing they had. I had sliced beef that was very dry and tough, and turkey that was moist but flavorless. The salmon, stuffed shrimp, and fried fish were interchangeable. The taco station looked good but the shell had been out too long and was not crispy. I did not try any of the sushi but it looked ok. Nothing outstanding and since I didn't see anyone near it I figured it had been sitting a while. Best thing I had was the crab Rangoon and it probably came in frozen and was just heated. Place is relatively clean nothing really to say about that no weird odors and the staff is nice the plates though were dirty and i came when they just opened the plates were greasy and i was afraid to eat off of it the food taste old but the sushi is made fresh in front of you but it looks pale and one of the rolls tasted like old lettuce. I used to come here all the time but the food just is not doing it for me I understand that they have to cook a lot and put a lot out but it just all tasted sad. I'm not one to leave reviews.. but this one needs to be told. I was there tonight with my husband and my 1 year old. First off we were sat in a corner away from everyone and that corner smelled like pee so bad! I blamed my son until the smell lingered even though he was freshly changed. I was so happy to get some of the peanuts with the white coating on them. I'm getting myself and my husband a bunch cause we love it .. until I scoop peanuts and a dead roach. I'm sorry but this killed it for me. I've been going with my parents since I was about 10 years old when it was called "Old Country Buffet". The fact that I experienced this.. killed my whole mood from many many years ago. I believe if you go, please double, triple check your food and what you're ingesting. read more
