I have been a member of Glo-Tanning for a couple of years now. While I appreciate the convenience, it is not cheap $85 a month, I have found the experience at the Keller branch to be somewhat frustrating at times. The location is primarily staffed by young employees, often teenagers or those in their early 20s, likely working at minimum wage. The turnover seems quite high, and I have never encountered anyone who appeared to be an owner or senior manager on-site. For a quick tan, it's a good option, and it is literally 2 minutes from me. However, I wouldn't recommend it for a special occasion, as the results can be inconsistent. They often forget to turn the beds on and you have to get all dressed again to remind them. On one occasion, I was mistakenly sprayed with the cleaner instead of the post-treatment solution, messing up my whole tan. Additionally, the staff is clearly trained to push customers toward unnecessary add-ons. At one point, there was even an extra charge if you wanted your legs to tan properly!!!!! Albeit, I believe that practice has since been discontinued. Considering we are paying over $80 a month the constant upselling is annoying. That said, I want to highlight a particular incident that took place this past Sunday. When I arrived to tan about an hour before closing, there was only one young employee, Tyra, left to manage the entire store on her own. As about seven customers arrived at once (myself included--guilty as charged!), it was clear that she was completely overwhelmed. Despite the stress, Tyra handled the situation with grace and professionalism. She remained calm, polite, and efficient, ensuring that everyone was taken care of--even as customers became impatient and tanning beds still needed to be cleaned between uses. My heart went out to her, as she was truly put in a challenging position, yet she managed it with composure and kindness. I wanted to take a moment to commend Tyra for her exceptional attitude under pressure. However, I also hope this feedback highlights the need for better staffing support, particularly during busy hours, to ensure both employees and customers have a smoother experience. read more
